[mukto-mona] Twenty20 cricket - Is it cricket or white skin show?

What a pity!

"Two cheerleaders hired to entertain crowds at India's Twenty20 cricket premier league have accused organisers of racism.
Ellesha Newton and Sherinne Anderson say they were banned from performing because they had "dark skin" and told to sit out of the opening routine at the India Premier League's inaugural match in Chandigarh.
They said they were left sobbing as Team Chennai and Team Mohali took to the field and that event organisers told them only "white girls" would be allowed to perform. "

British cheerleaders banned from Indian cricket show

'because their skin was too dark'

Two cheerleaders hired to entertain crowds at India's Twenty20 cricket premier league have accused organisers of racism.
Ms Newton, 22, from Islington, said they had been called "n*****s" and banned from performing.

Racism claim: Sherinne Anderson says that only white girls were allowed to perform for crowds at India's Twenty20 cricket premier league

She said: "An organiser pulled us away. He said the people here don't want to see dark people. The n***** word was used and they said they only wanted beautiful white girls."
Ms Anderson, 25, from Hayes, added: "This kind of thing has never happened to us not in Europe, not here, nowhere. We are offended."
The girls had been hired by Fierce Performance Productions which has offices in London and Bombay.
Director Jorge Aldana said the girls were eventually allowed to take part as cheerleaders after he intervened with local officials.
Several of India'sTwenty20 cricket teams have hired American and British cheerleaders, including a number of black African-Americans, but this is the first allegation of racism.
The raunchy routines have caused outrage in the country, where protesters condemned their introduction as an insult to traditional Indian modesty.
Now India's Twenty20 organisers are braced for a fresh and potentially more damaging row over the cheerleaders' allegations.
Women's rights groups in India have condemned the organisers, and called for action to be taken.
The All India Democratic Women's Association, said: "Stopping anyone performing on the basis of colour of skin is not only illegal but unconstitutional.
Racism is rarely discussed in India, but African visitors and immigrants from Nepal face regular abuse.
The event management firm Wizcraft today denied the allegations and accused the women of having "an ulterior motive" for making them.
A spokesman said: "They are totally fabricated."

With Regards

[mukto-mona] Caretaker government has cheated with the country's people.

Sir,
The government is conducting activities ignoring the country's constitution and that's why much problems are arising day by day. So the government will have to take decisions according to the directives given in the Constitution. The poverty rate has been increasing since the take over of the caretaker government last year and this government has failed totally to curb the commodity price hike. Political reforms cannot be done imposing it on the parties as political reform is an ongoing process and the parties will bring changes in their party by themselves. In the name of bringing reforms in political parties and other sectors, the caretaker government has cheated with the country's people.

My personal appeal to the military backed caretaker government to do all the good it can, by all the means it can, in all the ways it can, in all the places it can, at all the times it can, to all the people it can, as long as ever it can.

[mukto-mona] RE: Accusations against of Abul ala Maududi, 1954

       Dear All,
We are not vilifying Mawdudi personally. But as he impacted the world and his followers are still doing the same we must analyze his views. A deep look into Munir Commission report and his books/speeches reveal his numerous contradictions of the Quran, logic, justice, commonsense and even himself. Link of Munir Commission Report is:-http://www.thepersecution.org/dl/report_1953.pdf and

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punjab_Disturbances_Court_Of_Inquiry

Attached is Mawdudi's support to captive rape from his own book.  His support to slavery from his Tafhimul Quran is in the text bellow. Copy of his death-sentence and the declassified document of the USA government terming him in 1956 (?) as "The most dangerous man on Pakistan" can't be attached due to volume-restriction of internet-posting.  Sorry, he was speared death-sentence not due to "International pressure" but pressure for Saudi for reason clear.

If Amin Ahsan Islahi and Prof. Khurshid Ahmed are "scholars" then we need to define what makes a scholar. To us they are not.

I have read Islahi Sb's rebuttal of Munir Commission report and found it full of childish and dangerous deception in the name of Islam. As for example, difference of definition of man cannot be equated with that of Islam. The former is benign but the later is malignant - it resulted in numerous killing of Muslims by Muslims, see here:-

And if we adopt the definition given by any one of the ulama, we remain Muslims according to the view of that alim but kafirs according to the definition of every one else...........If the constituents of each of the definitions given by the ulama are given effect to, and subjected to the rule of 'combination and permutation' and the form of charge in the Inquisition's sentence on Galileo is adopted mutatis mutandis as a model, the grounds on which a person may be indicted for apostasy will be too numerous to count ( MC Report pages 218 & 219).

Islahi Sb was probably used to village-lectures but the world cannot be fooled by such false argument. A quick look into some docs (there are many more) in MUNIR COMMISSION REPORT

Page 226:- Mawdudi agrees Muslim's lower position in India:-

Maulana Abul Ala Maudoodi :—

"Q.—If we have this form of Islamic Government in Pakistan, will you permit Hindus to base their Constitution on the basis of their own religion?

A—Certainly. I should have no objection even if the Muslims of India are treated in that form of Government as shudras and malishes and Manu's laws are applied to them, depriving them of all share in the Government and the rights of a citizen."

(Mawdudi later denied uttering the word "Shudras" but in essence agreed to the rest - Hasan)

**************************************************************************

MAWDUDI SUPPORTS SLAVERY:-PAGE 225

"The Islamic law on the point is that if the country of which these prisoners are nationals pays ransom, they will be released. An exchange of prisoners is also permitted. If neither of these alternatives is possible, the prisoners will be converted into slaves for ever. If any such person makes an offer to pay his ransom out of his own earnings, he will be permitted to collect the money necessary for the fidya (ransom).

****************************************************************************

His support to slavery - that includes women as well - see attached scanned copy from his book. TAHFEEMUL QURAN - EXPLANATION OF Sura Muhammad verse 4 :-

http://www.tafheem.net/main.html

"The jurists of Islam have also made three points (a) That if a prisoner accepts Islam, he cannot be killed; (b) that the prisoner can be killed only as long as he is in the government's custody; if he has been allotted to, or given in somebody else's possession by sale, he cannot be killed; and (c) he should be killed in a straightforward way - not tortured to death............instead of killing them or keeping them in captivity for lifetime, they should be handed over to the individual Muslims as slaves.......if they are not exchanged for other prisoners of war, or ransomed, the method enjoined of doing them favour is that they should be made slaves and given in possession to individuals........jurists of Islam have unanimously ruled that the prisoner who becomes a Muslim after being taken captive cannot escape slavery".

Regards.

Dear members,

Assalamu alaikum.Farida Majid has made so many allegations in a short paragraph without any proof established in any court.Sayyid Maududi was sentenced by a military court only for writing the book The qadiani problem. This was an academic book still found in translation in most important languages.I have read the book it is just an academic discussion on the problems created by the Qadianis among Muslims. He was released later under internationalpressure as the military judgement was without any proper basis.

Any body can read Munir Commission Report and /or its analysis by Amin Ahsan Islahi, the great Alim of Pakistan and translated by another world-class scholar Khurshid Ahmad.Munir sb said that Ulama did not agee on a definition of Muslim.Amin Ahsan islahi replied that Ulama defined Muslim in different words and sentences meaning the same thing.as the question was sent to them seperately.Islahi sb said the same thing will happen if modern scholars are asked to define  man seperately. This does not mean that people do not understand what is man or Muslim.
Munir Commission report contains such frivolous things which has been properly rebutted by islahi sb.

Can someone find the Munir-Kayani Report from Pakistani archives and help distribute it as widely as possible?
The curse of Moududi is the scourge on our land, on our faith and our lives. Please do all you can to battle against this curse and restore sanity and humanity to our people.

[Below is a note from a cyber-friend in an Indian forum where I had described the plight of Bangladesh in the hands of Jamaat. He echoes my sentiments]

============================================

It should be pointed out that Maududi's imprisonment and death sentence
was for his role in instigation sectarion riots in Pakistan.

The disturbances were of such magnitude that martial law had to be
imposed.

Maududi contributed greatly to rise of intolerance in Pakistan (and the
rest of the subcontinent as well).

The disturbanced were investigated by a panel of judges 'Punjab
Disturbances Court Of Inquiry', which after a detailed investigation
submitted a 384-page report in 1954. It is sometimes called the
Munir-Kayani report, after the two distinguished Justices who headed the
investigation. I will share some of the sections of the report. It is
a very important document for students of modern history, not just of
Pakistan but of the subcontinent as well.

Maududi cannot be considered to be a hero in a society that values
tolerance.

I cannot understand why the Bihar Anjuman, or any other Indian groups
would regard him as a hero.

Re: [mukto-mona] Pakistan's Friday Times reviews "Chasing a Mirage: The Tragic Illusion of an Islamic State"

WRT: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mukto-mona/message/48503

"Fatah says he hopes to reach the neo-conservative proponents of the so-called war on terrorism and make them realise that their warmongering has been the best thing that has happened to the Islamist proponents of a worldwide jihad. "The invasion of Iraq was manna from heaven for Al Qaeda. Bin Laden could not have asked for anything more. I hope that the conservative Republicans in the United States and their neo-conservative allies in the West will realise that in the battle of ideas, dropping bombs helps the foe, not the friend."

Reply:

I respectfully disagree with the above statements. If we look back at the time of Bill Clinton, a Democrat President, there has been attacks on Americans in America and abroad. Bill Clinton's responses were mild, which only emboldened Jihadists around the world. They used those attacks and responses from American administration as barometer for their future plans, one of which was the attack on 9/11. If we compare Beirut bombing, a response from Regan, a Republican President, after the Pan-Am Bombing, we see that Ghaddafi totally turned 180 degree from his previous position. With these two examples I want to convey that, type of response do matter.

Based on recent reports (in The New Republic & Wall Street Journal), George Bush, a Republican President, has been quite successful with his response to 9/11. Now, we hear about bin Laden's Libyan former companion-in-arms, Norman Benotman's public rebuke of al-Qaeda and their affiliates, which shows that strong response do work. George Bush may have been successful.....Now, we hear about people like Tarek Fatah and other secularists, who are voicing their opposition and criticism openly, which will turn the tide against al-Qaeda and other Jihadi organizations.

Re: [ALOCHONA] Daily Star - Hasina Case docs eaten up by OOiee Poka

Poor upkeeping of documemnts in nothing new in Bangladesh.

Any ex-PM logically should share some responsibility for not providing
due attention to this problem.

Anyway, I thought that the current government is "Military-Backed" or "Military-Controlled".

Mr. Khundkar derserves some credit for making it "Military Government" ---

Well, I am not very fond of such government either.

But the two churlish ex-PMs left us with no choice.

Its like the classic american school boy excuse for not doing his homework - the dog ate it.

Bit of a doozie for an self-proclaimed efficient & process oriented  Military Govt.

Power Plant Case
Important documents of the barge-mounted power plant graft case against former premier Sheikh Hasina and seven others have been found eaten up by termites.

While cross-examining a prosecution witness at the Special Court-1 on the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban premises yesterday, Hasina's counsels revealed that parts of several pages of the tender file of Wartsila Power Development Ltd Consortium has been destroyed by termites.

The defence produced the file before the court and the court recorded the matter.

The defence yesterday cross-examined two prosecution witnesses--Sub- Inspector and recording officer of the case AK Anwarul Islam and Additional Director of Power Development Board (PDB) Abdul Halim.

Following a time petition by the defence, Judge Firoz Alam adjourned the hearing on the deposition of prosecution witnesses until June 3.

Former prime minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina was brought to the court at 10:00am. Former energy secretary Tawfique-e-Elahi Chowdhury was also produced before the court.

The defence started cross-examining third prosecution witness Abdul Halim around 11:00am after he submitted his deposition to the court.

Defence lawyer Advocate Syed Rezaur Rahman asked Halim how many tender files he had in his custody. Rezaur said, "I do not know."

The defence asked him who was the PDB chairman when he confiscated the documents and Halim said it was Khizir Khan.

When the defence told Halim that Khizir Khan did not give permission for confiscating the documents, he said it is not true.

Lawyer Rezaur asked him if he could produce the letter of permission before the court. Halim said he cannot because it was at his office.

As the defence asked Halim if he knows how many of the files he had produced before the court were eaten up by termites, he said he cannot recall.

The defence asked him if he knew that a file of Wartsila was attacked by termites. Halim said again that he cannot recall.

Advocate Rezaur then showed Halim the file and later submitted it to the judge.

Taking a look at the damaged document, Judge Firoz asked Halim if they use any medicine to preserve the documents but Halim did not say anything. The judge recorded the matter.

Public prosecutors argued that only a tiny part of the cover page of the tender file was destroyed by termites.

Rezaur told Halim that the file was destroyed in his custody, but Halim said, "It is not true."

Later, the defence lawyers told reporters that several pages of the 10-year-old document on the bidding by Wartsila were destroyed by termites which will affect the defence.

"Is the destruction of the documents deliberate or caused by negligence?" Rezaur said while talking to reporters.

The public prosecutors, however, said a document's being eaten up by termites is nothing unnatural and only a tiny part of the file's cover page was destroyed.

[ALOCHONA] Human Rights and Migrants

My comments are inserted below.

mufassil islam <mufassili@hotmail.com> wrote:

Dear Mr. Aziz, Mr. Turkman and Other Readers:

It is easy to get carried away into the vortex of conflicting issues if we do not take on board, patience and constructive critocims of opposing view holders on board.

I agree that the nourishment of freedom of speech in EU (sorry but I do have further reservations about the US) is held high but these rights are often manipulated and misguided in the name of atrocious laws as rightly said by Karl Marx once that law is the toll of oppression by the ruler. Al must agree that during and soon after second world war - may fundamental human rights were currauled even for the UK citizens in UK for the sake of national security and I believe these sorts of checks should be allowed when national security is doomed but the question is for how long and for how much?
TURKMAN: Until the problem exists.
----------------------------------
The recent atrocities and threats of atrocities in the West has very reasonable justifications of putting a check on people at random or even basing on their religious and national entities whilst visiting the West - esxpecially the US. I was more than once checked by the authorities and I have had no reason to worry as the authorities did explain that it was a random checking even though it did appear to me that the system did target me. It is also true that the criminals do not necessarily have to wear a beard to pose a threat and even may be of European origin.
TURKMAN:  I think, profiling is a better way and they should only check the teens to the ones up to 38 years old because all the Terrorists are covered in that age group. Women and Children should be spared because not many children and women have blown themselves up. The problem is, I have seen a 90 years old White American Lady being picked for special screening and a famous Jewish Movie Actor here in USA.
--------------------------------

But it is not true as well that we are not curtailed of our freedom of expressions in the West. It is not at all right to presume that our thoughts can be told at full. Here are some examples:

The issue of Palestinians blowing themselves up - although I do not support the act at all but it is also true that these acts do emanate from decades of utter frustration and from series of torture by the Israeli regime which is being backed blindly by the US government. Mrs. Blair was subjected to severe criticisms and even calls were made by the media to boycot her when she had expressed that she did feel the utter frustration of the Palestinians.
TURKMAN: Palestinian cause is a victim of 9/11.
--------------------------------

There are criminals and crazy people in Iraq who are against peace but its is also true that there are people in that country who want to see the Americans go and if they declare war and pick up arms in defence of the liberty of their motherland - West will never allow them to be called 'freedom fighters' as under the 'glorification' clause of the Terrorims Act 2006 in UK or under the Homeland Security Act of the US. An example of this is the comments against George Galloway MP (UK) when he had done so. What about many MPs in UK who had lost their party nominations after they had mentioned that the UK parliament was a poodle of the zionist regime? Or what about the Historian who had questioned the depth of the authenticity of the German atrocities on the zews? Or what about the several examples of money lending scandals from the zewish peers in UK and what about Mr. Lor Levi being posted as a Minister even though he was part of the money lending scandal in the British Government?
TURKMAN: Democracy is, what majority of  people think, not what you think. Osama and Mollaas should have thought about it before starting it.
---------------------------------

I don't know why Mr. Turkman talks as always baselessly and without examples. I challenge that the Western view is not democratic.
TURKMAN: Whichever system creates a better society and keeps people satisfied giving them all their rights is Democratic. Does any of our systems do that? If you do not like Western views, go back to Bangladesh and fight with your Mollaas ...!
---------------------------
We do go their for practical means of survitude and benefits of this world but that does not mean we the people of the East are blindly unethical. What do you call the US policy or the Amnesty International's report about US being the worst violators of Human Rights in the world?
TURKMAN: Not really 'the worst'. USA is the only country of the world where Illegal Aliens have a right to come on the streets to protest and vandalize demanding they should be granted citizenship. Tell me, which country of the world permits this kind of attitude?
-----------------------------
If you do not know the statistics - please ask me brother but Mr. Turkman's utter use of bad and vulgar language proves the point that either he has a close relative in the family who is White Christian American and that has pushed him to be utterly biased or he has lost the plot simply because he is uninformed. We do not have any grudges about white, yellow or blue or even against people of other faiths but we must not be carried away blindly.
TURKMAN: Yeah, this is why, when I was a Teenager, my country's people used to make fun of me because of my too fair complexion and good looks that my mother must have had slept with an Iranian to have a boy like me. Of course, I had Anglo-Indian Christian Friends before I arrived in USA and all my wife's relatives and a lot of my friends are White American Christians and they are a lot better people than my Daishi Moslim, Hindu and Sikh friends.
--------------------------------

As for Islam I have only a few excerpts from the Quran and that should suffice for Muslims travelling to other country:
Sura Al Araf:
On Entry into new city:

161. And (remember) when it was said to them: "Dwell in this town (Jerusalem) and eat therefrom wherever you wish, and say, '(O Allh) forgive our sins'; and enter the gate prostrate (bowing with humility). We shall forgive you your wrong-doings. We shall increase (the reward) for the good-doers."

And we must respect their laws but not at the cost of our souls and you want us out of there?
TURKMAN: That Verse was for the city, where 1st Qiblaa of Moslims was located, not for any Western City. Allah doesn't consider those Moslims, who live amongst Non Moslims. Read Verse 8 : 72 ...! I'm violating that verse myself because I think, its now obsolete. I haven't sold my soul. Your Soul is possessed by Demon of Tribalism and backwardness and this is why becoming civilized means selling your soul to you.
----------------------------------
Surprised - how you became a poodle as you decided not to enter into the world of intellectual battle. Allah made us poor financially but spiritually rich so that we can all work for the spread of Islam - the only peaceful life. Read Sura Al Araf it also teaches us to be patient as people will surely hurl abuses.
TURKMAN: Spread the word for what? To make USA become another corrupt country like Bangladesh or Pakistan? And I can see, how patient you are by hurling abuses at me, calling me a Poodle.
---------------------------------

I don't know under law of which country the Government can cease passports for ever as suggested by Mr. Turkman but is a good advise to lecture the prospective migrant to advise them about foreign culture as adopted by Phillipines (Post Departure Seminar) - Mr. Turkman you forgot to give an example and I am giving it for all.

Bahrain government urged to stop hiring Bangladeshis

Manama: Decisions on hiring of Bangladeshi workers would have to be made by various official bodies, said a labour official as pressure mounted on the Bahraini government to halt the hiring of Bangladeshis.

Several Bahrainis, including journalists and a parliamentary bloc, have called upon the authorities not to allow Bangladeshis to work in the kingdom following the murder of a 38-year-old Bahraini at a garage on Friday.

Mohammad Hassan Al Dossary, a father of three daughters, was killed by Bangladeshi worker Mohammad, also a father of two daughters living with their mother in their native village, following an argument.

The mechanic allegedly attacked Al Dossary using a grinder before fleeing the scene, according to his sponsor, to hide in a mosque several kilometres away before he was arrested.

The murder revived calls made last year to take stringent measures against Bangladeshis following the killing of a Bahraini woman by her cook.

Monitoring
"Such a decision is not just about cancelling work permits by the Labour Ministry, but involves several other government bodies. There is a close monitoring of all events that helps understand the general orientation of the labourers and their adaptation to the character of the Bahraini society," Jameel Al Humaidan, Labour Ministry Undersecretary, said yesterday.

Al Asala, the second largest parliamentary bloc, called for a timetable to deport Bangladeshis, saying that they represented a threat to social peace and stability.

"We are shocked by the number and frequency of the murders and crimes perpetrated by this community, and the government should act promptly to deport those who are now in Bahrain and to stop issuing any new permits," Al Asala said.

"We will soon submit a motion to the parliament to force the government to end the hiring of Bangladeshis because of their aggressive and tense character," the Islamist bloc said.

Several columnists called for the "immediate and irrevocable" deportation of Bangladeshis, warning that failure to take action would mean more hostile behaviour.

However, the head of Al Meethaq Society, Ahmad Juma, rejected the calls, saying that Bangladesh should not be punished for the crimes by some of its citizens.

Manama: Bahrainis on Saturday called for a ban on the hiring of Bangladeshi workers, hours after the gruesome murder of a Bahraini father of three.

"We have noticed that most of the crimes in this country are perpetrated by people coming from Bangladesh, and the wise thing to do is to stop bringing them to Bahrain," a Bahraini blogger wrote on a website.

"We should have no mercy for the killer and ban other Bangladeshis from coming here out of fear of what they might do to us, exactly what Saudi Arabia and Kuwait did at one time."

Similar calls against Bangladeshi labourers were made last year following the murder of Sana Al Jalahma, a Bahraini woman, by her 29-year-old Bangladeshi cook. The cook, angered by Al Jalahma's remarks, waited hours for her return home to kill her. The murderer was sentenced to death.

However, political activist Ahmad Juma said while the calls to ban Bangladeshis were understandable because of the grisly character of the murder, a nation cannot be punished for the acts of some citizens.

"We sympathise with the family and friends of the victim, but we cannot simply say that no Bangladeshi should be allowed in Bahrain because of this. The criminal should be punished, but the country did nothing wrong," he told Gulf News.

Bahraini Mohammad Hassan Eisa Al Dossary was killed on Friday morning when a Bangladeshi mechanic attacked him with a grinder. Al Dossary, father of three daughters, wanted the mechanic to do some welding work on his car, but the two disagreed over the fee. Witnesses said their argument was over 500 fils (Dh5).

The mechanic fled the garage in Hamad Town, 20 kilometres south of Manama, but was eventually arrested after he called his sponsor who alerted the police and guided them to his hideout.

Bahrain is home to about 70,000 Bangladeshis.

RE: [ALOCHONA] Human Rights and Migrants

By my opinion, Mr. Mufssil Hussains' assertion, "I don't know why Mr. Turkman talks as always baselessly and without examples. I challenge that the Western view is not democratic." is really baseless indeed.  It does not appear that the facts will support Mr. Mufassil's claim. Heaven does not exit anywhere in the world. All we have to live with statistical facts. It also depends on what the author means by the word "democratic". Mangacarta used to provide perfect democracy Britons while the colonies did not have any chance to taste it. Similarly, when someone lives in any of the the western countries, if he/she is the citizen of that country then the constitution of that country allows that person to exercise full democratic rights. Constitution protects that person, most of the time, in full. No system is full proof. So, isolated unfavorable incidents may happen. But the fact is that the people of most of the western country extremely respect their constitution, which in the other part of the world meagerly happen. A lot of people of other parts of the world, have other agenda on top of the constitution of the country. If Bangladeshi people had real respect for the constitution, the country would be many many fold prosperous than what it is today. This is also a reason why Bangladesh, instead of progressing, going more towards hardship and anarchy, leaving behind the democracy of the people. Self-criticizing is more necessary to achieve this goal, rather than boasting and blaming with irreality and falsehood.

Subject: [ALOCHONA] Human Rights and Migrants

Dear Mr.

The recent atrocities and threats of atrocities in the West has very reasonable justifications of putting a check on people at random or even basing on their religious and national entities whilst visiting the West - esxpecially the US. I was more than once checked by the authorities and I have had no reason to worry as the authorities did explain that it was a random checking even though it did appear to me that the system did target me. It is also true that the criminals do not necessarily have to wear a beard to pose a threat and even may be of European origin.

I don't know why Mr. Turkman talks as always baselessly and without examples. I challenge that the Western view is not democratic. We do go their for practical means of survitude and benefits of this world but that does not mean we the people of the East are blindly unethical. What do you call the US policy or the Amnesty International's report about US being the worst violators of Human Rights in the world? If you do not know the statistics - please ask me brother but Mr. Turkman's utter use of bad and vulgar language proves the point that either he has a close relative in the family who is White Christian American and that has pushed him to be utterly biased or he has lost the plot simply because he is uninformed.

The defence yesterday cross-examined two prosecution witnesses--Sub-Inspector and recording officer of the case AK Anwarul Islam and Additional Director of Power Development Board (PDB) Abdul Halim.

[ALOCHONA] Some facts about Jamat-e-islame Bangladesh

Oh yeah sure JmaaTay Islami is, "such a party to develop its economy and standard of living on moral test, where other political specimen are failed ... Jamath e Islami is the only address, where Bangladesh will get its final destination" just like it has done for Pakistan by ...

* ... recruiting Taliban and providing them Military Training so they could conquer Afghanistan.

* ... being a part of Religious Party Coalition, MMA having run Govt in NWF Province of Pakistan for last 5 years, killing economy of that province, making Services go down the drain, having un-picked Stinking Garbage everywhere, having Sewers overflowing, having desrepaired roads with Pot Holes, closing down Schools etc for not having Money but having plenty of money to keep building Religious Schools for its own Mollaas free of costs.

* ... burning-down Movie Houses, burning or closing down Barber Shops (Barbers shave and don't let people grow their Beards), burning or closing down Video and Audio Rental Shops, blacking-out faces of women on all Posters and Bill Boards, beating-up women on the streets not wearing the Mini Tent called Borqah, beating-up women on the street if walking alone etc.

Sure, this is finaly destination of Bangladesh if you let these Mollaas run your country. Don't forget, population of Bangladesh would be reduced in half also just in it was in the days of Taliban Rule because JmaaT may decide, half of you may not deserve to live. Besides slaughters, they had mass starvation and millions of Afghans had to flee to Iran and Pakistan during Taliban Rule of Afghanistan. Where would Bangladeshis flee to?
Bay of Bengal?

Many thanks for your interest about Jamath e Islami.
Infect, my observation, which most of the Jamath e Islami might not think (though I am also a supporter), Jamath e Islami had reached its highest pick on its scientific proliferation. I would like to mean its organisational structure and most honest interactions between jamath e islamis.
Nowadays, I always interpret other movement in the name of Islam to learn from Jamath e Islami.
Off course, there might be a lot of deficiencies in the Jamath, that's why we all not blind at all when following our leaders, is another course of action, to keep the jamath in the right path.
I certainly presume, its leadership, based on moral training, perhaps still billion times better than any other political leaders and their workers.
Bangladesh and its people will need such a party to develop its economy and standard of living on moral test where other political specimen are failed.
After collapse of two family bound politics in Bangladesh then the Jamath e Islami is the only address where Bangladesh will get its final destination.

Subject: [ALOCHONA] Some facts about Jamat-e-islame Bangladesh

The Originally the organization was named Jamat-e-islami Hind. Maulana Syed Abul Ala Moududi was its founder. Though established in 1941 the organization was foreshadowed when Maulana Moududi began a vehement criticism of Pakistan and the Muslim League in his speeches, addresses and religious sermons. After the Lahore Resolution was adopted a conference was arranged called by Maulana Moududi. At this conference, on 26 August, 1941 Jamat-e-Islami Hind was formed. A sixteen-member majlis-e-shoora was constituted and Maulana Moududi was elected the Amir of the party.

In March the next year (1942) at a session of majlis-e-shoora an allegation was made that Maulana Moududi lived an ostentatious life which was repugnant to the tenets of Islam. Demand for his resignation was made at this session. Though ultimatewly he succeeded in retaining the post of Amir, four members quit the party.

In 1942 he shifted the headquarters of the party from Lahore to East Punjab. In 1944 he appointed Mia Tofael Ahmed secretary-general of the party. The next year (1945) from April 19 to 21 the first central rokon (workers) council was held at Pathancourt for the last time.

After the partition of India, in 1948, Maulana Moududi came over to Pakistan accompanied by 306 of the party's 533 members and began party activities in his new home. As the Maulana decreed that the jehad in Kashmir was haram (forbidden act in Islam) he, along with a few members of Jamat was arrested in 1948. The first council of the party in Pakistan was held from 6 to 8 May. Maududi came out of prison in 1950 and built up a liaison with a few other Islamic parties.

In January, 1953 at a conference of clerics Maulana made a demand for declaring the members of the Ahmediya community as non-Muslim. At this time Maududi made many provocative statements against the Ahmediya community which incited a riot against the Ahmediyas at the end of February, 1953 which escalated further in March that year. In Punjab a frenzied bloodbath ensued killing thousands of people. After this Maulana Moududi and his followers were arrested and tried. In the trial the Maulana was awarded the death sentence and his followers were convicted to imprisonment of various terms. Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani and Maulana Akram Khan opposed the verdict of death sentence. Later the death sentence was set aside and he was given life term. Of course, for political reasons Maududi was released in 1955.

In the East Pakistan of those Jamat-e-Islami had no organisational base. In 1948 Jamat leader Rafi Ahmed Indori was sent to East Pakistan with the objective of expanding political activities here. Before that Maulana Moududi had visited East Pakistan in an organisational tour, accompanied by the secretary-general of his party. By the persistent efforts of Rafi Ahmed and Abdur Rahim a four-member provincial committee of jamat was formed in East Pakistan. Abdur Rahim was elected Amir of this committee. Gholam Azam who was a teacher in Rangpur Carmichael College joined jamat-e-Islami in 1954 as an associate member. In 1955 he achieved the post of rokon. The same year he became secretary of the party's Rajshahi division and the next year he was given the responsibility of provincial assistant secretary, the Amir of Rajshahi and provincial secretary. At that time the Amir of the provincial branch of the party was Abdur Rahim.

Around this time many allegations against Moududi were again being made within the party. In 1957 he called an all-Pakistan Jamat conference in Bahawalpur. At this conference he became Amir, which prompted the dissidents to quit the party.

In 1962 when General Ayub promulgated Muslim Family Ordinance Moududi opposed the Ordinance. For this on 4 January, 1964 the Ayub government banned Jamat and arrested 60 Jamat members including Moududi. They included 13 Jamat members of East Pakistan , among whom were Gholam Azam. Later, in October the same year the ban on Jamat was lifted.

Jamat-e-Islami opposed the Six Points of Sheikh Mujib and the Fourteen Points of Maulana Bhashani. In 1967 was formed the PDS or Pakistan Democratic Movement. Jamat-e-Islami took part in it. In 1968-69 ayub Khan summoned a roundtable conference with the purpose of foiling the great mass movement. Jamat-e-Islami at this time engaged in various kinds of machinations. The party began to emit venom against NAP and Awami League. Jamat took part in the election of 1970. In West Pakistan the party won only in four seats.

In 1971 when the Liberation War began Jamat-e-Islami took the side of Pakistan. In the month of April Gholam Azam met General Tikka Khan twice within the space of one day and opposing the liberation of Bangladesh offered his full cooperation. Gholam Azam branded the Freedom Fighters as anti-State elements. Gholam Azam played a foremost and active rle in forming the 'peace committees' in the Pak-occupied Bangladesh under the leadership of a Khawaja Khairuddin, president of Council Muslim League. Jamat-e-Islami also had an active rle in the formation of the forces of the 'Razakars', Al Badr and As Shams. Throughout the period of the Liberation War of Bangladesh, the leaders and workers of Jamat-e-Islami and the workers of Chhatra Sangha had been directing many-sided action against the Bangalee nation. This included the obliteration of the Bangalees as a nation, the killing of innocent people and intellectuals, mass arrests, rapes, looting and arson, etc.

On 3 Septamber, 1971 Dr A S Mlik wa sappointed the governor of East Pakistan and on 17 September provincial government was formed here. In this cabinet the Jamat leader Abbas Ali Khan was appointed education minister and Maulana Abul Kalam Mohammed Yusuf became the minister for works and revenue. In August 1970 a by-election was held in which 78 members of National Assembly of the victorious Awami League were declared disqualified from being candidates. In this by-election 58 candidates were elected uncontested. They incluuded 25 Jamat leaders among whom were Gholam Azam, Abdur Rahim, Abbas Ali Khan. After liberation, as all religious parties were banned, Jamat-e-Islami also came under the ban.

In August 1976 the Ziaur Rahman government announced the Political Parties Regulation. According to this regulation, the number of polirtical parties recognised by the state at that time was only 21. One of them were Islamic Democratic League. Jamat-e-Islami played an active rle in the formation of this party. Gholam Azam came to Bangladesh for three months on Pakistani passport and through his leadership from the background Jamat-e-Islami was formed in May, 1979. Abbas Ali Khan was elected the acting Amir. Aqfter this Gholam Azam surrendered his Pakisatani passport and applied for Bangladeshi citizenship.

Jamat helped to promote Ziaur Rahman's politics. After Ershad came to power it directed its activities in the same manner. In 1986 Jamat took part in the election to the third parliament in which ten of its members were elected. In the fifth parliament it won 28 seats, and by supporting BNP in formation of government obtained two more reserved women's seats. Through these happenings Jamat was able to dig its heels in national politics. After the 1991 election during the BNP rule the question of Gholam Azam's citizenship was taken to the court of law following which the court granted him citizenship.

In 1992 under Jahanara Imam on whom was conferred the title 'Shaheed Janani' (the Mother Of Martyrs) a strong movement was built up for the elimination of the killers and collaborators of 1971. This led to a fall in the popularity of Jamat. After this Jamat remained active with Awami League in the demand for caretaker government. Of course, in the 1996 election Jamat won only three seats. The number of votes polled by them throughout the country also dropped sharply. In the post-election years Jamat with BNp formed a four-party alliance and it is fighting the election to the eighth parliament jointly with BNP.
