[mukto-mona] Initiative to affirm a resolution condemning Bangladesh Genocide in US congress

Dear all

37 year after the henious and barbaric genocide committed by Pakistan Army and its collaborators
some members of US house of representatives are taking initiative to condemn Bangladesh Genocide (1971)
in US congress.

House Homeland Security Chairman Peter King , House Majority whip NY Congressman Joe Crowley.
Pennsylvania Congressman Joe Sestak and Virginia congressman Jim Moran will lead the initiative.

The resolution will condemn the Bangladesh genocide of 1971 committed by Pakistan Army and its collaborators
and demand trial of the war criminals. This resolution will be similar to the resolution condemning the Armenian
genocide almost 92 year after the genocide committed in Armenia by the Ottoman Turks

Please  detains at::

The world has not forgotten Armenian Genocide, the world will not forget Bangladesh Genocide either!

Bangladeshi activists  meeting Congressman Joe Crowley at the Capital hill

Bangladeshi activists  meeting Congressman Peter King at the Capital hill

Armenian Genocide - Not forgotten

FYI, in October 2007 US congress affirmed  a resolution condemning the Armenian
genocide almost 92 year after the genocide committed in Armenia by the Ottoman Turks
Affirmation of the United States Record on the Armenian Genocide Resolution -
Calls upon the President to ensure that U.S. foreign policy reflects appropriate understanding
and sensitivity concerning issues related to human rights, ethnic cleansing, and genocide
documented in the U.S. record relating to the Armenian Genocide and the consequences
of the failure to realize a just resolution and in the President's annual message commemorating
the Armenian Genocide to characterize the systematic and deliberate annihilation of 1.5 million
Armenians as genocide.

Note: Killing of up to 1.5 million Armenians by Ottoman Turks around the time of World War I,
an event widely viewed by genocide scholars as the first genocide of the 20th century. Turkey
denies that the deaths constituted genocide, says the toll has been inflated, and insists that
those killed were victims of civil war and unrest.
[Sounds familiar - Genocide in Bangladesh and denials by the traitors and collaborators]

[mukto-mona] Transit to India

7 Reasons Why Bangladesh Should Never Allow Transit to India

Thursday July 17 2008 12:42:57 PM BDT

By Abid Bahar, Canada

The issue is, the CTG is not an elected government and transit is an issue related to sovereignty, security and economic factors. The News Today Monday July 14 2008 reported: "The [CTG] government earlier was sympathetic about the transit issue. It was in a mood to propose to India to conduct a feasibility study on the rail transit but the Indian High Commissioner''s public statement on this sensitive issue has forced the government to change its earlier position" the source said. Why should CTG show interest in it is question repeatedly asked in Bangladesh!

Why Bangladesh should never allow transit to India. Here are the reasons:

1. India has proven itself as an untrustworthy friend. During the liberation war, while helping Bangladesh liberation, it secretly built the Farakka dam. "Farakka was commissioned on permission from Mujib on the condition that it will have test run for only 40 days. But unfortunately those 40 days is yet to be finished (even after 37 years) and Bangladesh is getting the pinch of dry rivers. Further 54 other international waters were stopped by the friend of BAL making barrage/dams/ groins virtually making lower riparian country Bangladesh's rivers dry."

During Mujib time, the Rakkhi Bahini head was made an Indian. The jute head quarter was transferred to Delhi. With the Mujib -Indira Pact, river demarcation based on the mid current was made a farce. Bangladesh is losing land. It is now a serious problem. Mujib was persuaded to hand over the sovereignty of "BERUBARI" in return of "Tin Bigha."But Tin Bigha was never returned. A Berline wall was built in Bengal to so-called stop Bangladeshis cross the border. India jammed the Bangladesh TV. As a matter of target practice, India regularly kills Bangladeshi joans in the border region. Even before the investigation, India blames Bangladesh for terrorist actions within its borders.

"Due to sinking of several ships in Chittagong Port during Liberation War..., it was difficult to import ...essentials for war torn Bangladesh. Bangladesh requested India to just to allow using Calcutta Port for only six months in 1972. India refused the request." "Bangladesh wanted only 16 miles transit to pave for easy trade between two SAARC countries Bangladesh and Nepal." But it was refused. Now India wants 600 miles of corridor. Bangladesh should never allow transit to India.

2. Without the transit, India's seven non Indian sisters in the North East that now depend on Bangladesh for manufactured goods, but with transit, India will sell its own product to the region and Bangladesh will lose.

3. India doesn't want to allow Bangladesh to have land route with Nepal and Bhutan which is purely for trade purpose, India shows the excuse that it goes against its territorial integrity, using the same logic Bangladesh can not allow transit.

4. Financial benefit from transit fees would outweigh its other disadvantages. Bangladesh would risk destroying its own roads and highways, infect its citizens AIDS. Roads and highways will be neglected by the chauvinistic Indian traders and military personnel are passing through Bangladesh's heartland.

5. India is an unreliable keeper of promises. It failed to keep up to the signed treaties of Barubari/ Farakka. India first fix these problems than only trust building will lead to transit. RAW fed Indian chauvinistic government will never go for a fair deal because its sole purpose is to help Bangladesh into a failed state.

6. Transit through Bangladesh will allow India to increase its repression in its occupied North East. For such repression, Bangladesh suffered in the hand of Pakistan and now as a peace-loving country, it shouldn't allow India to increase its repression over its non Hindi/ largely Asian/ Christian and Buddhist minority people unfortunately made part of India. At the same time such a deal would make Indian separatists rebels make Bangladesh a target.

7. Indian treaties are politically motivated. While Mujib signed the Mujib-Indra Treaty 25 year treaty results in the beginning of trade deficit, water shortage, border issues dispute, and dependence on India resulting in the India friendly Mujib's unpopularity and within a short period of time made Bangladesh bankrupt, "the bottomless basket case" and brought his own death. If the past experience with India is a guide, it is believed that people in favor of transit to India are the ignorant India- lovers popularly known in Bangladesh as the "Indian Razakars" who are inviting trouble for Bangladesh. For such an issue we suggest for a national referendum. If people decide, let it be, if not, never!

Why the CTG to bother on the transit issue which the former two governments? It appears that the CTG was brought to power by groups aligned with foreign powers, one of them is India. The CTG brought to power through the excuse of anarchy. It seems it is showing its responsibility to its constituency-India.

It was through the AL led unrest and anarchy in late 2006-2007 that evaded the 90 days limit of the CTG duration. It appears that the CTG's corruption charges are not real but to have the minus 2 policy and to install a future Moin U military government! This is now evident in General Moin U receiving the Indian 7 horses.

As it appears, Bangladesh is infested with RAW agents and unrest in the cities and in tribal areas continues while countries like Vietnam and Singapore continues the pace of development.

 my reasons

1. has not proposed any water management agreement with the other river that india has chosen to dry up Bangladesh!

2. Bangladesh has not got the logistic to monitor this inflow BSF come into Bangladesh and murder BDR personnel

3. India does not allow Bangladesh media to be broad cast in to west-Bengal and other parts of India as they cite it is a security threat! Whilst the India media is looting our economy and instil various misinformation about Bangladesh. Our media is losing millions of USD

4. We will lose our industrial dominance in Assam.

5. India will undertake dumping practice which will harm our economy also ruining our industries at the same time whilst our industries lose their dominance in Assam.

6. due to 4 and 5 our economy will lose more then what is gained from this!

7. rebel groups which claim that they indigenous supported, funded and even armed by India. where as the actual truth is that they settled in Chittagong as early as 1600s noted by one of the moguls.... They are armed with Indian INSAS rifles!

[ALOCHONA] Re: Human Rights and Migrants

Dear Mr. Mufassil Islam,

Please see the information provided in the following link about the
Constitution of UK.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Constitution_of_the_United_Kingdom

My point was not to talk about Magna Carta or the constitution of
UK, whether there is one or not, but to say that the set of laws of
the country provides the stability and the law and order of a
nation. Any business is between the provider and the customer. A
contract between the provider and customer controls the business to
run properly, provided both the parties comply with the rules of the
contract. Similarly, public and Government need an acceptable
contract, whatever it is called, and both parties must comply with
the clauses of the contract between the public and the Government.
Most Western Countries follow it. Most African and Arab Countries do
not follow it. Muslims are the eventual product of the Arabs, and so
to comply with any earthly business contract is beyond their notion.
Muslims take seriously the Holy Quran as the only contract to be
followed, which is between Allah and Humans. Why this has to come to
the earthly business between the public and Government to run a
country? I believe, the religion shall be totally away from the
politics. Politics must be run in the light of the constitution of
the country. All constitutions are the living documents, not sealed
like Quran, and can be modified by the law makers of the country, at
the time of needs. Thanks.

K. Raisuddin

but I also believe that you are aware of the after shocks of that
and I refer to the Bill of Rights thereafter in the then UK. I also
believe that you are aware that the Magna Carta could not save the
King of England after that owing to the mere fact that the King was
Catholic - he had to go to the gallows and give his head. Are you
aware that in England the Bill of Rights is still at work since tha
middle ages and the the fact that in UK there is no such thing as
written constitution? And UK has tried to justify many reasons for
not having a written constitution but I will give you the real
reason - the primary reason is the reliance on Bill of Rights where
the King is himself to a large extent beyond any constitution and a
Anglican Church King - the King James Verson of the King. The truth
is - yes in the west owing to law and the general emphasis on its
implication the law applies to all equally but this can be felt when
it comes of regular daily affairs but I am referring to
administrative and systematic abuse of lacunas of law which I can
very much give several examples as in my last letter where there are
hypocratic applications. You wish for more example? Such as Zimbabwe
became eye sore to TK only after the white farmers were kicked out
of their massive lands - Robert Mugabe was not an issue when he was
toturing his own people. Why? All these Zimbabwean white farmers
hold British Overseas passports - trust me - I do have many of them
as my clients. Yes. Irony of being a lawyer. UK and all the other
major European countries have the Cross on their flags and we are
showing allegience - nonsense. A democratically utterly religigious
countries where you are given George Cross of bravery and Cross
given for Knighthood. Nonsense. And I am pretty sure that in US when
u apply for Permanent Residence - you have to declare negativity
towards Communism. This is democratic? No holiday for over 10%
Muslims in Europe but .5% Christians do get Christmas in Bangladesh.
Sorry our Bangladesh may be still far behind democrarcy owing to our
poverty but all countries have to go through such periods and we
will prosper soon - I am confident and we are generally far more
democratic in souls than the West. We are just victims of our own
ignorance and illiteracy and the corrupt are exploiting us. The next
target is Saudi Arabia and that's the fact and the Saudis dug their
own grave when they cut off from the Ottomans. I will request facts
and not fictions please.

> By my opinion, Mr. Mufssil Hussains' assertion, "I don't know why
Mr. Turkman talks as always baselessly and without examples. I
challenge that the Western view is not democratic." is really
baseless indeed. It does not appear that the facts will support Mr.
Mufassil's claim. Heaven does not exit anywhere in the world. All we
have to live with statistical facts. It also depends on what the
author means by the word "democratic". Mangacarta used to provide
perfect democracy Britons while the colonies did not have any chance
to taste it. Similarly, when someone lives in any of the the western
countries, if he/she is the citizen of that country then the
constitution of that country allows that person to exercise full
democratic rights. Constitution protects that person, most of the
time, in full. No system is full proof. So, isolated unfavorable
incidents may happen. But the fact is that the people of most of the
western country extremely respect their constitution, which in the
other part of the world meagerly happen. A lot of people of other
parts of the world, have other agenda on top of the constitution of
the country. If Bangladeshi people had real respect for the
constitution, the country would be many many fold prosperous than
what it is today. This is also a reason why Bangladesh, instead of
progressing, going more towards hardship and anarchy, leaving behind
the democracy of the people. Self-criticizing is more necessary to
achieve this goal, rather than boasting and blaming with irreality
and falsehood.

> Dear Mr. Aziz, Mr. Turkman and Other Readers:It is easy to get
carried away into the vortex of conflicting issues if we do not take
on board, patience and constructive critocims of opposing view
holders on board.I agree that the nourishment of freedom of speech
in EU (sorry but I do have further reservations about the US) is
held high but these rights are often manipulated and misguided in
the name of atrocious laws as rightly said by Karl Marx once that
law is the toll of oppression by the ruler. Al must agree that
during and soon after second world war - may fundamental human
rights were currauled even for the UK citizens in UK for the sake of
national security and I believe these sorts of checks should be
allowed when national security is doomed but the question is for how
long and for how much? The recent atrocities and threats of
atrocities in the West has very reasonable justifications of putting
a check on people at random or even basing on their religious and
national entities whilst visiting the West - esxpecially the US. I
was more than once checked by the authorities and I have had no
reason to worry as the authorities did explain that it was a random
checking even though it did appear to me that the system did target
me. It is also true that the criminals do not necessarily have to
wear a beard to pose a threat and even may be of European origin.
But it is not true as well that we are not curtailed of our freedom
of expressions in the West. It is not at all right to presume that
our thoughts can be told at full. Here are some examples:The issue
of Palestinians blowing themselves up - although I do not support
the act at all but it is also true that these acts do emanate from
decades of utter frustration and from series of torture by the
Israeli regime which is being backed blindly by the US government.
Mrs. Blair was subjected to severe criticisms and even calls were
made by the media to boycot her when she had expressed that she did
feel the utter frustration of the Palestinians. There are criminals
and crazy people in Iraq who are against peace but its is also true
that there are people in that country who want to see the Americans
go and if they declare war and pick up arms in defence of the
liberty of their motherland - West will never allow them to be
called 'freedom fighters' as under the 'glorification' clause of the
Terrorims Act 2006 in UK or under the Homeland Security Act of the
US. An example of this is the comments against George Galloway MP
(UK) when he had done so. What about many MPs in UK who had lost
their party nominations after they had mentioned that the UK
parliament was a poodle of the zionist regime? Or what about the
Historian who had questioned the depth of the authenticity of the
German atrocities on the zews? Or what about the several examples of
money lending scandals from the zewish peers in UK and what about
Mr. Lor Levi being posted as a Minister even though he was part of
the money lending scandal in the British Government? I don't know
why Mr. Turkman talks as always baselessly and without examples. I
challenge that the Western view is not democratic. We do go their
for practical means of survitude and benefits of this world but that
does not mean we the people of the East are blindly unethical. What
do you call the US policy or the Amnesty International's report
about US being the worst violators of Human Rights in the world? If
you do not know the statistics - please ask me brother but Mr.
Turkman's utter use of bad and vulgar language proves the point that
either he has a close relative in the family who is White Christian
American and that has pushed him to be utterly biased or he has lost
the plot simply because he is uninformed. We do not have any grudges
about white, yellow or blue or even against people of other faiths
but we must not be carried away blindly. As for Islam I have only a
few excerpts from the Quran and that should suffice for Muslims
travelling to other country:Sura Al Araf:On Entry intio new
city:161. And (remember) when it was said to them: "Dwell in this
town (Jerusalem) and eat therefrom wherever you wish, and say, '(O
Allh) forgive our sins'; and enter the gate prostrate (bowing
with humility). We shall forgive you your wrong-doings. We shall
increase (the reward) for the good-doers."And we must respect their
laws but not at the cost of our souls and you want us out of there?
Surprised - how you became a poodle as you decided not to enter into
the world of intellectual battle. Allah made us poor financially but
spiritually rich so that we can all work for the spread of Islam -
the only peaceful life. Read Sura Al Araf it also teaches us to be
patient as people will surely hurl abuses.I don't know under law of
which country the Government can cease passports for ever as
suggested by Mr. Turkman but is a good advise to lecture the
prospective migrant to advise them about foreign culture as adopted
by Phillipines (Post Departure Seminar) - Mr. Turkman you forgot to
give an example and I am giving it for all.Read my latest article

Decisions on hiring of Bangladeshi workers would have to be made by
various official bodies, said a labour official as pressure mounted
on the Bahraini government to halt the hiring of
Bangladeshis.Several Bahrainis, including journalists and a
parliamentary bloc, have called upon the authorities not to allow
Bangladeshis to work in the kingdom following the murder of a 38-
year-old Bahraini at a garage on Friday.Mohammad Hassan Al Dossary,
a father of three daughters, was killed by Bangladeshi worker
Mohammad, also a father of two daughters living with their mother in
their native village, following an argument. The mechanic allegedly
attacked Al Dossary using a grinder before fleeing the scene,
according to his sponsor, to hide in a mosque several kilometres
away before he was arrested. The murder revived calls made last year
to take stringent measures against Bangladeshis following the
killing of a Bahraini woman by her cook.Monitoring"Such a decision
is not just about cancelling work permits by the Labour Ministry,
but involves several other government bodies. There is a close
monitoring of all events that helps understand the general
orientation of the labourers and their adaptation to the character
of the Bahraini society," Jameel Al Humaidan, Labour Ministry
Undersecretary, said yesterday.Al Asala, the second largest
parliamentary bloc, called for a timetable to deport Bangladeshis,
saying that they represented a threat to social peace and
stability."We are shocked by the number and frequency of the murders
and crimes perpetrated by this community, and the government should
act promptly to deport those who are now in Bahrain and to stop
issuing any new permits," Al Asala said."We will soon submit a
motion to the parliament to force the government to end the hiring
of Bangladeshis because of their aggressive and tense character,"
the Islamist bloc said.Several columnists called for the "immediate
and irrevocable" deportation of Bangladeshis, warning that failure
to take action would mean more hostile behaviour. However, the head
of Al Meethaq Society, Ahmad Juma, rejected the calls, saying that
Bangladesh should not be punished for the crimes by some of its
citizens.Bahraini blogger calls for ban on all Bangladeshis after

11:09 PM | By Habib Toumi, Bureau ChiefManama: Bahrainis on
Saturday called for a ban on the hiring of Bangladeshi workers,
hours after the gruesome murder of a Bahraini father of three."We
have noticed that most of the crimes in this country are perpetrated
by people coming from Bangladesh, and the wise thing to do is to
stop bringing them to Bahrain," a Bahraini blogger wrote on a
website. "We should have no mercy for the killer and ban other
Bangladeshis from coming here out of fear of what they might do to
us, exactly what Saudi Arabia and Kuwait did at one time."Similar
calls against Bangladeshi labourers were made last year following
the murder of Sana Al Jalahma, a Bahraini woman, by her 29-year-old
Bangladeshi cook. The cook, angered by Al Jalahma's remarks, waited
hours for her return home to kill her. The murderer was sentenced to
death. However, political activist Ahmad Juma said while the calls to
ban Bangladeshis were understandable because of the grisly character
of the murder, a nation cannot be punished for the acts of some
citizens."We sympathise with the family and friends of the victim,
but we cannot simply say that no Bangladeshi should be allowed in
Bahrain because of this. The criminal should be punished, but the
country did nothing wrong," he told Gulf News.Bahraini Mohammad
Hassan Eisa Al Dossary was killed on Friday morning when a
Bangladeshi mechanic attacked him with a grinder. Al Dossary, father
of three daughters, wanted the mechanic to do some welding work on
his car, but the two disagreed over the fee. Witnesses said their
argument was over 500 fils (Dh5).The mechanic fled the garage in
Hamad Town, 20 kilometres south of Manama, but was eventually
arrested after he called his sponsor who alerted the police and
guided them to his hideout.Bahrain is home to about 70,000
Bangladeshis.

[mukto-mona] Amarnath Shrine ISP July 2008 I

Land Allotment and Amarnath Shrine

Ram Puniyani

Jammu and Kashmir has been one of the regions of the country mired in different types of troubles all through. To add to the painful situation, the issue of land allotment to Amarnath shrine and later reversal of this decision has worsened the harmony, which is eluding the region.

J&K Government in contravention to the Supreme Court ruling decided to divert 39.88 (June 2008) hectares of land to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB). This was preceded by lot of miscalculations and misrepresentations. In the volatile situation of the state this land diversion was presented as if the land has been sold to the Shrine board. This also had the implication of changing the tourism related services in the state. Currently the economic activity generated due to yatra (pilgrimage to the shrine) is one of the major sources of income for Muslims en-route. With SASB taking over many/all these services, a perception was created that those regularly associated with yatra services will be sidetracked and it will now become an exclusively Hindu affair. Further, this was wrongly perceived in the valley as if this is an attempt to change the demographic profile of J&K by settling more Hindus in the region. This baseless perception had some roots in the common knowledge that Shimon Peres, the Israeli Foreign minister had advised Lal Krishna Advani about changing the demographic composition in the valley. These twin factors were in the minds of people when this land diversion was presented as the sale of land and spontaneously there were huge protests in the valley. Separatist Extremists sections of Kashmir politics further enhanced the fury. These protests were immediately projected as anti-National by the BJP etc., and huge demonstrations, equally fierce were orchestrated by BJP etc. in the Jammu region.

The Amaranth yatra by Hindus is rooted in one of the most syncretic-mixed support structures. The cave where shrine is located was discovery of a Muslim Shepherd in 1850s, since when the pilgrim has started. The descendents of the Muslim shepherd and sahdus managed the yatra till 2001 when the SASB took over and is trying to increase its hold on the arrangements. Remarkably the yatra went on smoothly even at the peak of militancy in Kashmir, barring of course few aberrations here and there. In 2006 the Governor ordered to place dry ice on the Lingam (phallus, the holy deity) which showed signs of melting due to the increase temperature caused by increase in the yatra traffic and unseasonal heat. This was also a matter of protests.  The pilgrimage is the major annual tourist event for the whole state, a means of bread butter for many of them. Also the syncretism in people's attitude is explicit all through as one sees the deep interconnection of the religious communities in the organization and carrying out of the yatra logistics. This again came to the fore when the pilgrims who got trapped due to breaking out of the demonstrations were well served by the Muslims en-route, who organized the food supplies and other help to them.

The spontaneous  breaking out of protest in valley was used by elements, like Syed Ali Shah Gilani, belonging to the extremist faction of Hurriat Conference, in the valley politics, who went on to fan the fire of separatism during the agitations and further aggravated the situation by calling for boycott of polls to be held in October,.

The ruling coalition of Congress and regional PDP has been far from objective. Both the coalition partners calculated more in terms of vote bank rather than going by the ethos of democratic and secular values. Congress forced the diversion of the land under pressure from the Governor Sinha, and PDP sensing the mood in the valley backed out leading the Government to revert the order, PDP walked out of the Government leading to the fall of the government.

In Jammu region the BJP etc. has inflamed the situation by organizing massive bandhs. Its call for All India Bandh led to many highhanded actions, more so in BJP ruled states, the worst of which was death of several people in Indore, Madhya Pradesh due to the accompanying violence. In J&K BJP on parallel grounds has been communalizing the whole situation. Contrary to the local feelings it has also been talking of trifurcating of J&K, along religious line, Kashmir valley, Jammu and Laddhak. Demanding of separate statehood for Jammu has been one of the causes of rout of BJP in the last elections. Now it is at its old game again and is making an election issue out of the Amaranth shrine land transfer mismanagement.

J&K has been suffering both the communalisms in a painful way. The issues related to autonomy of Kashmir not being respected, the highhanded approach of central government, the violation of democratic process by constant rigging of elections has resulted in the atmosphere of fear and mistrust amongst Kashmir people leading to alienation and giving support to separatist elements. This process has been duly supported earlier by the Pakistan Government, in turn supported by the US designs of having its presence in such a vital area. The militancy in the decade of 1980s, the exodus of Kashmiri Pundits due to the militancy and hasty actions of Jagmohan has left severe marks on the psyche of Kashmir. The best thing happening in the area has been the strengthening of democracy during last few years, as manifested by the relative fairness of last elections and the reduction in the militancy due to better representation of people and change in the attitude of Pakistan. Still the fear of highhandedness of the Central government and the heavy presence of military is a big obstacle for the restoration of faith in Indian democracy in full. There is a need to curb communalism of both types, to create an atmosphere where Pundits can go back, there is a need to win over the heart and mind of the people of the region and to ensure that communalization of Kashmir related issues by extremist Kashmiri factions and RSS-BJP is opposed to the fullest extent.

[ALOCHONA] Why susil media(alu-star) supporting dual evils?

When Sadek Hossain khoka got bail in the evening after arrest warrant n the moring, out susil media  didn't raise  any voice.

Rather they were ashamed to take the nameof the DCC mayor when they published  report about dangerous condition of Roads in Dhaka city.

But now when Nizami has got bail, they have lost sleep. If  the the bail of nizami is unusal, they may loose sleep. But my question is : Why they favor opportunist and corrupt Sadek hossain khoka.

Is it that  to be favored by our susil media , some one need to be both corrupt and opportunists?
