A country where 78% of Govt official are corrupt how people will survive?  I believe that people in Bangladesh are only focusing on corrupt politicians for long time.  These corrupt Amla and Govt officials are dangerous for Bangladesh and her future.  We know corrupt Govt officials and corrupt politicians are two faces in same coin.

I personnaly have encountered few Amlas few years ago who feelslike they are the kings and will not do anything unless a gift goes to their homes.  This is a wide spread problem which is causing this country in every sector.  Moreover, most of them do not have modern education with new technologies or even international ideads.

I am not sure where to start with Bangladesh, a country who is burden with so many unfortunate situations.

78pc govt officials involved in corruption

Wednesday November 12 2008 23:36:33 PM BDT

Truth and Accountability Commission (TAC) will soon bring a report to light on grim scenario of corruption indulged in by officials and employees of different government institutions. "During conducting our activities, we were astonished to see that corruption has totally eaten(The Bangladesh Today)

up different government establishments specially Bangladesh Telecommunication Company Limited (BTCL). When we studied an investigation report on corruption of BTCL (defunct BTTB), the officials of this organisation through forging sanctioned budget and prepared bills, looted crores of public money," TAC Chairman Justice Habibur Rahman Khan told reporters at a press conference held at his office at Hare Road in city on Wednesday.

He said the TAC will suggest to the government, through the report, how and in what way government can be freed from widespread corruption. "Besides, we will request the government to activate country's enquiry bodies in order to unearth the root of corruption. It is not difficult for them (Inquiry bodies) to unearth the root of corruption if enquiry bodies become active and work sincerely," Justice Habibur Rahman Khan said.

TAC Chairman said the case filed against officials and employees of BTCL will be sent to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to unearth the grim scenario of corruption through its investigation.

"I think if institutional corruption like in BTCL, come to light before the public through this report, people will be able to know and see the real picture of corruption and how it is being committed at different government institutions. Around 78 per cent government officials are involved in various corruptions. A total of 389 clemency seekers have come to the TAC. Of them 303 are the government officials and employees," Justice Habibur Rahman said.

Citing an example of corruption of BTTB (BTCL), a member of TAC said "We are surprised to see that for shifting some files from one place to another a number of 256 labourers were deployed in a day."

TAC Chairman further said 389 applicants including 39 women have applied to the commission for clemency voluntarily confessing their corruption and surrendering illegal properties.

Besides, TAC completed its hearing on 259 cases till date where applicants admitted their ill-gotten wealth worth around Tk 27,79,38,768 while the commission asked the absolution seekers to deposit their illegal properties within three weeks and around Tk 14,46,60,963 has been deposited to the government treasury by 154 clemency seekers.

Replying to query, he said that the TAC would be able to dispose off some 500 cases within the time frame set by the government. "In the meantime, we have disposed some 259 cases."

Meanwhile, TAC has already distributed 65 clemency certificates among those who have already deposited their admitted ill-gotten properties to the public exchequer and 40 certificates are ready to be distributed among them.

[mukto-mona] CSFH statement on Sonal Shah

A virtual melee has ensued in print and digital media over the selection
of Ms. Sonal Shah, an American of Indian origin to the Obama transition
team's advisory board. Shrill accusations of Ms. Shah being a "racist
and Hindu chauvinist" are being reciprocated by equally shrill attempts
to portray anyone who raises serious questions about the selection as
being anti-India, anti-Hindu, anti-progress, and recently, as against
"liberal civility." We condemn such baseless and unfair statements.

At the outset we wish to acknowledge that Ms. Shah has had a record of
being a visible and an important face of the "desi American" community -
a successful professional, and a politically and socially engaged citizen.

We are also happy to note at least one positive effect from this debate.
Even as this issue gets played out on pubic fora, the din of militant
Hindutva drumbeats has suffered some dampening. Almost all participants,
including those who have come out in support of Ms. Shah, have said that
the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh
(RSS) -- both integral to the Hindutva movement, are part of the
"politics of hate" that must be resisted. We wish such statements had
come much earlier, such as the time when people were being butchered in
Gujarat, or when Indicorps (an organization Ms. Shah co-founded) was
felicitated by Mr. Narendra Modi, Chief Minister of Gujarat.

Ms. Shah has become something of a point of pride for many Americans
with origins in India. But Ms. Shah does have feet that leave tracks,
has written words that have been archived, and has occupied offices of
responsibility. We wish to explore this material record below by
examining two of the most persuasive claims made by supporters of Ms.
Shah. These are:

1. That accusations of Ms. Shah being a closet Hindutva ideologue amount
to "guilt by association", a reference to the fact that her father Mr.
Ramesh Shah has well documented leadership roles within the Sangh
Parivar (Collective Family, the name for the set of organizations of
Hindutva).
2. That Ms. Shah's only association with the Vishwa Hindu Parishad of
America (VHPA) was in the context of the Gujarat earthquake; surely, she
cannot be faulted for not picking the right organization when urgent
action was the need of the hour.

Our claims of Ms. Shah's Hindutva associations are not based on guilt by
association. Instead, we ask: What organizational and ideological work
did Ms. Shah perform for and as part of the VHPA?

We have archived records demonstrating that Ms. Shah was a part of
VHPA's leadership group--the governing council and chapter
presidents/coordinators. She participated in strategy discussions with
prominent leaders of the Sangh Parivar. Ms. Shah was not just a
bystander, she was considered important and trustworthy enough by the
Hindutva leadership to be included in a core group with Ajay Shah,
Gaurang Vaishnav, Mahesh Mehta, Yashpal Lakra, Vijay Pallod, Shyam
Tiwari, and others. Does Ms. Shah deny that she played such a role?
Even in light of the recent public statement by Gaurang Vaishnav,
General Secretary of the VHPA, that Ms. Shah was made a member of the
governing council as she came out of college?

We are glad to hear Ms. Shah assert that her "personal politics have
nothing in common with the views espoused by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad
(VHP), the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), or any such organization",
and that she does not "subscribe to the views of such Hindu nationalist
groups". However, in view of her close association with VHPA, as
summarized above, Ms. Shah's claim to have "never" subscribed to such
Hindu nationalist views strains credulity.

Ms. Shah's participation in the VHPA Governing Council predates by a few
years her position as National Coordinator of VHPA's Gujarat earthquake
activities in 2001. The position of earthquake relief coordinator
doesn't seem to be an easy one to ascend to -- VHPA's website states
that "national projects are executed by a committee of members drawn
from the Governing Council and the various chapters." Thus, Ms. Shah's
coordination of VHPA earthquake relief seems to have built upon her
earlier leadership role within the VHPA. We do not know when/if her
affiliation with the VHPA ceased, but VHPA media secretary Shyam Tiwari
has recently claimed: "Sonal was a member of VHP of America at the time
of the earthquake. Her membership has [now] expired."

A note about Ms. Shah's earthquake relief work. Calamities such as the
2001 Bhuj earthquake often bring out the best in humans, but the Sangh
Parivar is notorious for using such moments instrumentally and cynically
for advancing its violent ideological agenda. An ordinary donor or
fund-raiser can be excused for not knowing the Sangh agenda, but for
someone like Ms. Shah, who grew up in a family deeply rooted in the
Sangh Parivar, it is more than a little disingenuous to claim that such
fund-raising was apolitical or neutral. There are numerous documented
instances of the Sangh Parivar's religion- and caste-based
discrimination in doling out relief. Therefore we are shocked that Ms.
Shah has expressed pride in coordinating relief work (under the ambit of
VHPA) following the Gujarat earthquake of 2001. The relief work
coordinated by the VHP is known to have rebuilt villages in the Kutch
region exclusively for caste Hindus while marginalizing lower caste
Hindus and Muslims to the periphery. The VHP thus took the opportunity
of the earthquake to re-create multi-ethnic villages into exclusive
Hindu spaces. In addition, given the pivotal role played by the VHP and
other Sangh organizations in the 2002 anti-Muslim pogrom, we fear her
pride is entirely misplaced.

Although we appreciate the positive influence Ms. Shah has had on many
second-generation desis, we have a hard time forgetting the many victims
of Hindutva. If Ms. Shah really wants to dispel doubts about her
linkages with the VHPA and other Sangh Parivar outfits, we urge her to
be more forthcoming in her condemnations of the Sangh Parivar,
especially its branches in the United States since that has been the
site of her involvement. Some ways for Ms. Shah to do this would be
to:

1. acknowledge her past organizational associations with the Sangh Parivar
2. distance herself from the public reception reportedly planned by the
RSS in her native village in Gujarat
3. categorically condemn the role played by Hindutva forces in
anti-minority violence in India, and the facilitation of this violence
by funds sent through various Sangh Parivar affiliates in the United States

[mukto-mona] Re: Scientists, Atheists, Fundamentalists

I did not think or say that you labelled the rationalist philosophy as fundamentalist.  I said two things: that claiming or thinking one's views are right and competing views are wrong does not consitute fundamentalism, and that the alleged or actual obstinacy of some atheists is not completely symmetric to the dogmatism of religious fundamentalists, and therefore should not also labelled as fundamentalist.

With regard to the attitude of scorn and hubris that Dawkins, Harris and Hitchens harbor toward their philosophical adversaries, I am completely with you.  I myself find it highly disagreeable.  I would call it arrogant, over-zealous or even fanatic but not fundamentalist.

BTW, I prefer not to use the terms rationalist, atheist and scientific interchangeably as have been used in this thread.  Finally, I am not sure Hitchens can be called rationalist in any sense of the term.  This former leftist parted ways with his comrades in the European Left because of what he felt was the "tepid reaction" of the Left to the "rising threat of Islamic extremism." Then, he joined the American neocons in cheering for the Iraq war.  The first part (parting with the European Left) can arguably be viewed as "rational" but it is unclear to me what kind of rational discursive process can lead one from that position to supporting the Iraq war.

Best wishes.

I personally believe that situation will never be created in Bangladesh unless we try to influence the situation.  If we sit back and wait for that kind of situation to be evolved where Obama type people can be elected,  then we won't see in 1000 years.

Even we know lack of opportunity in Bangladesh,  but some body in some where has to start the process.  Nothing comes naturally unless we keep trying.

firstly, white or black, i dont think the US president will be any different with respect to their history. this country cannot live without being proactively aggressive. to retain arms market leadership, to piss off middle east by isreal, to enjoy sole supremacy in this world, to back worlds largest debt and many other.

secondly, let us not be a big mouthier like sk hasina, it is easy to comment like,
bd needs obama / mahathir / mandela type leader but do we have the system (education, political history, political environment, political cooperation) to let someone evolve as such in this country?

I agree hunded percent.Bangladesh needs visionery leader like Obama to bring real change for the people of Bangladesh. Old politicians in Bangladesh never learned lesson from their past mistakes and repeatedly doing the same mistakes again and again.
Even militaries failed to bring them in complience.
Now only options remains : a visionery leader like Obama for Bangladesh. Who has the quality of Obama in Bangladesh to bring that Change ?
If we find one we are lucky, if we don't, nothing will change in Bangladesh rather situation will deteriorate day by day and peoples suffering will become intolerable and military will take over again and again to teach them a lesson.
This game has no end in sight.....

[mukto-mona] Re: Oh Dear It's Raining! Oh Look The Bank's Gone Broke!

Re: [mukto-mona] Member's article: Oh Dear It's Raining! Oh Look The Bank's Gone Broke!

"Obviously, the wind is blowing against the capitalism, which is the time of high-tide for raising the sail for socialism, and many are just trying to do that. The truth is, we have been through the end of the socialist imperialism, lead by former Soviet Union. Now, we are waiting to see the ultimate fate of the capitalist imperialism, lead by USA, and the end is not in sight yet. What's apparent now is, capitalism or socialism, in its pure form as a standalone system, cannot survive. Perhaps the admixture of these two systems (i.e., the centrist economic policy) may be the prescription for the economic success, and we are going through the testing phase of that experiment. So, lets hold off "socialism good and capitalism no good" rhetoric until the result of this experiment is known."

Jiten Roy

"If something works in theory, a scientist asks if it works in practice. On the other hand, if something works in practice, an ideologue asks if it works in theory."

-Anonymous

I agree with your (I referring to my good friend Dr. Jiten Roy not Mr. Anonymous quoted above) conclusion and the substance of your comments, but not necessarily with each specific comment.  I would like to add that we might be thankfully moving into a post-ideological world. Perhaps the main problem with socialism or capitalism have not been their theoretical shortcomings or practical failures, but the dogmatism of their proponents. We often hear unexamined and unverified assertions such as "corporate greed" or "government inefficiency" is the main source of our economic woes, or popular cliches such as conservatives favor "tax breaks for the rich" which supposedly "burdens the poor" or liberals like to "tax and spend" which then supposedly "slows down the economy".  They do not represent any economic wisdom or economic realities but are the mantras of dogmatic ideologues.  Any professional economist will tell you that the above are some of the myths and fallacies created by politicians and journalists, either out of ignorance or out of motives to cynically exploit public opinion to promote their particular agendas.

It is not that the above statements are completely false; they do have a lot of truth in them but they are not true without qualifications.  They can be called half truths.  It is one of the characteristics of dogmatic ideologues that they elevate half truths into absolute truths. Also, although each pair of assertions above are usually posed as contradictory, they are not.  Most sensible people will agree that corporate greed and government inefficiency are *both* serious problems.  But most people do not realize that these problems are intrinsic. The so-called "corporate greed" is the primary engine which drives a capitalist economy and makes it work, and it is actually something necessary to have.  Likewise, any government, however well-intentioned or disciplined, will be inherently less efficient than a private business performing the same work because of the intrinsic differences in incentives and accountability between the two institutions.  But a private business does not have either the political mandate or the ability to deliver many of the public goods that only a government can deliver.  The solution to these apparent paradoxes lies in instituting and following a set of rules to put restraints on the private market and the public government to limit the harmful effects of their natural and otherwise useful tendencies.  The solution does not lie in decrying their existence or diminishing their rightful roles in building and growing a prosperous and just society.

If I am allowed to use a sports metaphor, to have a good game we need to have a competent referee, a nice even playing field, a set of fair and enforeceable rules, and healthy, talented and yes, aggressive players.  If we try to unduly restrain or indulge any of the parties, or do not have enough rules or too many rules, or have an uneven playing field, we are going to have either a very boring game or worse, a very chaotic game.  Neither would be very enjoyable.

I have a feeling that our President-elect is truly a man of the future, and he foresees our political forces evolving into the post-ideological age, although being a crafty politician, he has used a lot of the old ideological rhetoric himself to win the last election.  I am hoping against hope that he will have the "audacity" to ward off the ideologues on both sides of the aisle, and carry them and the country to the future he envisions.  In that post-ideological arrangement, many of the ideas, policy instruments and institutions of both capitalism and socialism will have places.  In that sense, it will indeed be a mixture of capitalism and socialism.

Best wishes,

M. Harun uz Zaman

Re: [mukto-mona] Omar Khayyám - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - Sent Using Google Toolbar

It would be too shallow to quote Omar Khyyam simply to give an instructive message to a believer. Omar Khyyam's rubais have much more deeper meaning that is thought provoking for both believers and nonbelievers. Many believers (examples, Kazi Nazrul Islam, Dr. Shahidullah, Gholam Mostafa (?)) have translated Khyyam. Syed Mujtaba Ali who edited Nazrul's translation has also some of his own. Kanti Ghosh has well known translation of two rubais:
"nogod ja pao hat pete nao, bakir khatay shunyo thak
durer badyo lav ki shune majh khane je bejay phank"
and
"prothom matite gora hoye gechhe shesh manusher kay
shesh nobanno hobe je dhanye taro beej acjhhe tay."
The above two have been quoted from memory. I have Fitzerald. I think Audrey is referring to this translation. This is superb. I am controlling my temptation to quote some. The above two quotes from Kanti Ghosh (I hope I am right) fully reflect Khyyam's wonderings about human existence and its boundedness, and his destiny. Therefore, value this short life. Wine, Saki, etc. are peripheral.
"Alike for those who for To-day prepare,
And those that after a To-morrow stare,
A Muezzin from the Tower of Darkness cries
'Fools! your Reward is neither Here nor There!'"

I picked up these verses for their contents.  I hope the believers with blind faith would learn something from them.

Re: [mukto-mona] Fw: Principle of justice is key: King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia

Charity should begin at home. Is Saudi Arabia a State that is tolerant to other religions? It's not. His so called liberal speech does not mean any thing if he cannot practice it in his own country. It is also reported that Saudi Arabia exports fanatic form of Islam to other countries particularly those which are economically dependent on it.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah delivers the keynote speech at the opening of a landmark interfaith dialogue conference at the United Nations in New York on Wednesday. (SPA)

NEW YORK: Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah yesterday urged world leaders attending a historic conference on interfaith dialogue at the United Nations to learn lessons from the past and establish justice in order to end violence.
"We say today with a single voice that religions through which Almighty God sought to bring happiness to mankind should not be turned into instruments to cause misery," the king said in his keynote speech at the Culture of Peace Conference organized by the UN General Assembly.
"Human beings are created equals and partners on this planet. Either they can live together in peace and harmony or they will inevitably be consumed by the flames of misunderstanding, malice and hatred."
King Abdullah added that the focus on differences by followers of different faiths and cultures had led to fanaticism and destructive wars.
"There was no need for such wars ... The time has come for us to learn lessons from the ruthless past and unite together on moral values and lofty examples that we all believe in ... We can leave our differences for God to make His judgment on the Day of Judgment."
The world desperately needs to learn the positive lessons of religion, said UN General Assembly President Miguel d'Escoto Brockmann, who opened the conference. All religions teach "social responsibility," he added, but the world has "become contaminated by the spirit of selfishness and individualism."
D'Escoto said that the world must choose between the values of consumerism and greed, or social responsibility and ethical behavior, including the economic and political spheres.
His attack on the "unbridled greed" of the "dominant" Western culture struck a chord among most leaders at the conference.
The plenary meeting at the UN headquarters in New York — attended by nearly 70 heads of state and senior officials — is an initiative put forward by King Abdullah, aimed at hastening action on some of the most urgent challenges facing the world.
"All the tragedies the world witnesses today is the result of its abandoning of a major principle, the principle of justice, promulgated by all religions and cultures," said King Abdullah, who is the first Saudi king to address the United Nations in 51 years.
Everybody in the conference hall appreciated King Abdullah's efforts in trying to unite the world.
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon praised the king for playing a crucial role in organizing the conference. He said a global effort was needed to confront a rising tide of communal strife and religious extremism.
King Abdullah lambasted terrorism.
"(Those who indulge in) terrorism and (other) crimes are enemies of God and enemies of every religion and culture," he said. "They would not have appeared in the presence of tolerance."
He blamed the decay of family values for the spread of drug abuse and crime.
King Abdullah told world leaders that interfaith dialogue would help revive lofty values and reinforce them in the minds of peoples and nations.
He thanked world leaders and other dignitaries who came from different parts of the globe to attend the conference.
"We would like to emphasize here that our interest in dialogue was inspired by the teachings of Islam and its values and because of our concern for the future of humanity," the king said. "We'll stretch our hands to all those who love peace, justice and tolerance."
The king concluded his speech by reciting a verse from the Holy Qur'an: "O people, we created you from a male and female, and rendered you distinct peoples and tribes, that you may recognize one another. The best among you in the sight of God is the most righteous."
"Your Majesty, the King of Saudi Arabia, I was listening to your message," Israeli President Shimon Peres said from the podium after the king spoke of the need for religious tolerance and said terrorism was the enemy of religion.
"I wish that your voice will become the prevailing voice of the whole region, of all people," said Peres. "It's right, it's needed, it's promising."

[ALOCHONA] Sidr homeless doubly worried as winter approaches

A year after cyclone Sidr ravaged the country's 30 south-western districts, some three lakh families still await assis tance for rebuilding their homes as the government and donors are far from fulfilling their pledges for rehabilitation of the affected people.

The homeless survivors, still recovering from the trauma of nature's fury, are doubly worried with the approach of winter as the government as well as foreign and local donors seem to be pulling out without fulfilling their rehabilitation pledges.

Officials of the finance and food and disaster management ministries told New Age Thursday that the response of the international community to the government's appeal for Sidr assistance fell far short of requirement.
The government appealed for $2.2 billion in international aid for rehabilitation in the cyclone-hit areas but received only $500 million from various donors.

Oxfam, a British non-governmental organisation, said that only about one quarter of the proposed 78,000 new homes for the badly affected families have been built. It also said more than one million people remained without proper shelter and were at greater risk of diseases than before cyclone Sidr struck on November 15, 2007.

Officials of the two ministries, however, said that the government had not yet compiled the details of the funds used in the rehabilitation of people left homeless by Sidr.'We [ministry of food and disaster management] have written to different ministries on November 11 to let us know about the foreign and government funds utilised by them in Sidr assistance', said an official of the ministry.

Replying to a question, the official admitted that there was a lack of coordination among various ministries as well as agencies about the Sidr rehabilitation work.According to an official, 47 countries and donor agencies had pledged $ 635 million and provided $ 69 million so far.

The Japanese government promised to build 10,000 houses but is yet to build any. The Indian government has backed away from their promise to build 2,685 houses in the Sidr-affected areas.A Japanese proposal for building 10,000 houses and Indian proposal for rebuilding 10 battered villages still remain elusive.

Even Saudi Arabia has not completed funding of its pledged $ 100 million for rebuilding 22,800 homes.A disaster ministry official said that immediately after the Sidr, Saudi King Abdullah had pledged $ 100 million for providing food and housing for the cyclone-hit people.

'So far they [Saudi government] have provided materials for construction of 15,000 houses in two separate lots in four severely affected districts', the official added.About an individual's donation of $ 130 million through the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), the official said that $ 20 million had been allocated for a cyclone centre and a housing project but the project was yet to be implemented.

Indian external affairs minister Pranab Mukherji's offer of rebuilding a Sidr-affected village still remains tangled up in the Indian high commission in Dhaka and food and disaster ministry as the offer was revised several times for various reasons.

Officials of the foreign ministry said that according to Indian desire the food and disaster management ministry had provided a list of 10 villages of Morelganj and Sarankhola upazila under Bagerhat district for construction of 1,600 houses.

'India said that their earlier allocation was not sufficient for rebuilding an ideal village and that they needed to write to New Delhi for more fund. Finally New Delhi has approved Rs 34,30,00,000 for the project', said an official of the ministry.

The official said that Indian consultant M/S CES Ltd was working on the project but Bangladesh was yet to be informed about the deadline for its commissioning..The cyclone Sidr that hit the country's south-western part on November 15, 2007, caused deaths of over 4,000 people and left a trail of destruction in the area.

The damage caused by the cyclone to homesteads was estimated at Tk 58 billion that represented over half of the total damage. In 30 districts as many as 5,65,000 dwellings were razed to the ground while 9,00,000 houses were damaged partially. In the 12 severely affected districts over 5,40,000 houses were completely damaged while another 8,10,000 sustained partial destruction, according to a report prepared by the donors on damage, loss and needs assessment for recovery and reconstruction after cyclone Sidr.

A shelter assessment made by Shelter Cluster and reported by the disaster management bureau estimated that as many as 34 per cent of the households with fully destroyed dwellings and 17 per cent with partially destroyed houses might need external assistance for rebuilding.

Re: [mukto-mona] Charge of the Light Brigade.

Copernicus was brave enough to publish his heresy posthumously.  Even Galileo apparently retracted whatever he wanted to say.  Dr. Manning needs a beginners course in the anthropology of religions, and read the Ugaritic Bible.  One should not blame her, as even Hegel was a devout Christian.  With her analytical ability, she should not have taken on leading non believers.  Any holy literature, when thoroughly read would evaporate the faith of a believer.  I doubt, if Dr. Manning has read even Genesis with enough attention.

Dr.Audrey Manning's comments on Dawkin have created some interesting discontent among some of the noted intellectuals in the Forum. Knowledge being an important part of human survival needs to be vigorously pursued in our times which are going through a very stressful period of its entire life time. The generalization of any polemics, in this connection it's on the existence of God, as rigid by implying that they do not leave any space for further investigation is not right. I find that there is a missing link between the theists and atheists. We need intellectual compassion in this debate. The people who firmly believe in God do not posses any real idea of what they really believe in. In the true spirit of knowledge vagueness is not an intellectual proposition. This is a kind of emotional hallucination which does not really mean anything. There are two kinds of believers one of them just maintains an unquestioned belief and the other has a romantic feeling about God. They want to understand it and sincerely try to embrace it. I would bring Tagore's case here as an excellent example. The basic nature of our intellect is to ask questions. A vast majority among us submits to the unknown evoking their historical right to submit when their intelligence fails to fathom the mystery of this creation. The other party relentlessly pursues their quest to the end. The role of intellectual compassion steps in here to support the both parties. The history of the mankind has recorded that the number of those people who does not want to stop at the approach of limitations are a very few only. We don't have many Copernicus's among us.  These few are very brave people. They are relentlessly pushing the chariot of knowledge. They are charging forward to challenge the dogmas and are opening new vistas of knowledge. This quest is endless and the horizon is expanding.
