Mr. Mahathir, please do not manipulate the information to fulfill your intension of vilifying the government in every opportunity you get. Pass your comments anyway you want but state the fact as fact and let the readers judge your thought.

The fact is, it was not AL government who transferred Col. Gulzar to BDR in 2006 but the Jamaat-e-Islami-BNP led alliance government, which transferred Col Gulzar Uddin Ahmed (from RAB to BDR), who led the RAB investigation into JMB's militant activities and massive terror attacks right before alliance governments tenure ended. Soon after the CT government came to power, probably on February, he was transferred back to RAB and then AL government moved him back to BDR in January of 2009

There is a resemblance of his unfortunate tragic death with his father. Col. Gulzar's father Anwar Uddin Ahmed was a civil servant working at the Ordnance Factory in Gazipur under the defence ministry during liberation war. On April 4, 1971, the Pakistan army picked up Col. Gulzar’s father Anwar Uddin Ahmed along with around 20-25 officers of the factory along with their families. They were brought to the parliament area in Dhaka. The Pakistani army then separated the men from their families to kill them in a hail of bullets, Col. Gulzars father never came back as he joined the millions of mutterers of our glorious liberation war.

Similar to Col. Gulzar body which was mutilated beyond recognition by BDR mutiny plotters his father Shaheed Anwar Uddins body was never found back probably because of disfigurement

It is extremely unfortunate Col. Gulzar who busted the terror was struck back by terror. indisputably, his knowledge on JMB, HUJI, Hizb ut-Tahrir and all other domestic as well as external Islamic terror outfits could be a huge advantage for the nation to fight against.

Talking to Daily Star on September 2008 Col. Gulzar opinioned about Hizb ut-Tahrir Bangladesh are similar to those of the JMB.Interestingly, in 2009 we are witnessing a huge resurgence of Hizb ut-Tahrir around the country especially right after the BDR mutiny reminds us about his remarks on close collaboration of this two Islamic insurgence outfit.

If the suspicion of ferociously evil anti liberation anti Bangladesh forces JMB- Hizb ut-Tahrir connection turn out to be true then we can connect the dots. Perhaps the BDR incident did not happened because of his presence in BDR but there will be no doubt that his body was mutilated crashed beyond recognition was due to their extreme revulsion against him for being victorious against the evil forces.

Entire nation salute him and his father for their sacrifice for our nation. As long we will fight the anti liberation force, Col. Gulzars father, Shaheed Anwar Uddin will inspire us. As long we will fight Islamic extremist militant in Bangladesh, Shaheed Anwar Uddins son Col. Gulzar will inspire us as the pioneer leader of crushing the militants

Has Bangladesh Army paid enough price for making wrong headed(declared

[ALOCHONA] Bangladesh government influencing report of BDR Massacre

Bangladesh government influencing report of BDR Massacre

Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury

One of the most influential members of the ruling party as well as Commerce Minister in Bangladesh, Lieutenant Colonel [Retired] Faruk Khan told reporters on Thursday that there were hands of banned Islamist militancy group named Jamaatul Mujahedin Bangladesh [JMB] behind the massacre, that took place inside the headquarters of Bangladesh Riffles [BDR] on February 25 & 26.

He said some of the border troops rounded up for alleged role in the bloody mutiny are found to have connections with JMB, the banned Islamist outfit responsible for terrorist attacks including the near-simultaneous countrywide blasts in 2005.

Faruk, who has lately been tasked with coordinating the probes into February 25-26 bloodbath at Pilkhana, was talking to reporters at his secretariat office around noon."We have gathered that a number of BDR jawans arrested in the mutiny case were involved in JMB somehow or other."

This comment from the top figure who has been assigned by the government to coordinate the investigation process is very significant. But at the same time, this comment will surely influence the investigation report, especially of those non-army bodies and more precisely of Criminal Investigation Department [which is controlled by the Home Ministry] in exclusively alleging JMB behind the entire massacre, thus excluding many of the potential culprits who belong to the ruling party as well the opposition quearters.

Yes, Faruk Khan´s statement is partially correct. There was JMB hand behind the massacre, possibly, otherwise, who Colonel Gulzar was killed in the most barbaric manner? Moreover, it is important to note that, Mirza Azam, brother-in-law of JMB kingpin Shaikh Abdur Rahman, who is a whip in the Parliament from the ruling party was evidently having some contact points inside the BDR headquarters, which let him and Jahangir Kabir Nanak in entering the massacred area right on February 25, 2009, when no one else [even members of the press or Red Cross Society] could even approach the area. But, this is only one fraction of the entire conspirators. For, example, Jahangir Kabir Nanak is not connected to JMB. Or, how about Awami League leaders like Abdul Jalil, Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir, Liakat Sikder, Hassan Mahmud [now state minister for Foreign Affairs], Bahauddin Nasim, Sajeda Chowdhury [who is now deputy leader of the house], Jahangir Kabir Nanak or BNP leaders like Moudud Ahmed, Mirza Abbas, Nasiruddin Pintu, Shah Abdhul Hannan, Salauddin Quader Chowdhury, Khandekar Delwar Hossain etc., who had been demanding ´stern action´ against army officers? Their body language in a number of television talk-shows were sufficiently vindictive.

Now, let us also examine some of the comments by the Commerce Minister, Lt. Colonel [Retired] Faruk Khan on the massacre:He said, "Some links of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh [to the rebellion] have been found, it will be cleared once the investigation is completed."

Here is the question! If the matter is still under investigation, why the minister belonging to the ruling party felt extra-zealed in disclosing portional facts of the investigation? Just to give an impression that his party had no hands behind this notorious murders and brutalities?

Why Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Mirza Azam and the Home Minister Sahara Khatun should not be interrogated by the army investigation team as to why they allowed the 14-member team of the killers to enter the residence of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for a close-door meeting without registering their names and designations in the register book? Who helped these men in keeping their identities suppressed?

Why the government sent Jahangir Kabir Nanak and Mirza Azam to handle this extremely important case, while they had many other senior leaders like Tofael Ahmed, Suranjit Sen Gupta or even Syed Ashraful Islam? There are evidences that Jahangir Kabir Nanak and Azam were active during October 2006 broad-day-light murder of people on the streets of Dhaka in the name of political agitation. Some of the government leaders try to justify saying both Nanak and Azam were ´courageous peope´ and ´experienced in tacking such situation´. What kind of experience do they have? Experience to instigate and provoke?

The entire nation is willing to see a very neutral investigation into the murders and brutalities inside the BDR headquarters during February 25 and 26. Killers and conspirators, whoever they may be, should be brought into book and accorded stern punishment. Any influenced investigation will bring virtually no result in this case. Members of each of the investigation teams should remember this point for the sake of their own image and credibility. There is no room for anyone to show minimum sympathy to the killers and their instigators and patrons.

There is another bad news already by now centering the BDR massacre. A leader of the ruling party has already been arrested for his involvement behind this massacre. It is learnt that a significant volume of arms, ammunitions and grenades were already smuggled out of the BDR headquarters by the fleeing jawans of the Bangladesh Riffles. It is even reported that, some of the pro-ruling party terrorists are already possessing such arms, ammunitions and grenades and even some of them are already trading in such looted items. Investigators should also keep close-eyes on this matter.

And, finally a small scoop. A Captain of Bangladesh Army was murdered inside a residential hotel owned by an Awami League leader in the city. This murder mystery is yet to be unearthed by the members of the law enforcing agencies. Since February 25, 2009, we are witnessing death of several army officers in Bangladesh from BDR massacre to hotel murder to helicopter mystery. Each of the incidents should be properly investigated for the sake of independence and sovereignty of this nation. No one should be accorded minimum opportunity of playing foul with the patriotic members of our armed forces. This is a noble responsibility to each of the patriotic citizen of Bangladesh.

[ALOCHONA] Stop running probe commentary, please

News analysis

An investigation starts and before it reaches halfway to filing of its report, people know from the horse's mouth what it is gunning for. Yes, we are talking about the probe in the recent BDR massacre and what its chief coordinator has been dishing out on a daily basis, almost like a running commentary.

Any probe is supposed to be a discreet affair. It has to be done in a way so that one hand of the investigator does not know what the other hand is groping for. And then all information has to be pieced together--like in a jigsaw puzzle--to find out the broader picture. If everybody knows what strings the investigators are touching on, what new shapes the information are taking, then there is every chance that the probe may be blown off-course.

Sadly though, Commerce Minister Faruk Khan, saddled with the task of coordinating the probe into the February 25-26 BDR carnage, has been doing exactly the same since getting his new status. Everyday he has been talking to reporters at every possible function about what the probe finds are. It is from him that we have come to know that Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) militants are "involved" in the carnage. The next day, the probe even proceeded further to include "others" along with the JMB in the bloodbath.

Put what the CID and Rab investigators are saying, albeit anonymously. And remember when people talk anonymously they tend to get a bit of a free rein, they tend to brag and amplify things. Yet, as far as our correspondents have gathered from them, they said they still could not identify any link to the masterminds or "conspirators". They have been able to identify the killers who were involved in the murders. Cautious and measured information they give out, indeed.

As it looks now, the commerce minister has been trying to play to the gallery, or he has been trying to act foolishly to alert those who were "behind" the carnage, or he has been trying to etch out political mileage out of the probe.

His comments may influence the probe and investigators may feel constrained to toe his line. His comments can be premature as what seems like evident now may take for a different turn a little up the line. His statements may give the perpetrators time to hide.

For example, look at this comment he made in parliament on March 2: "We know who sent SMS [text message] to BDR members asking them not to surrender arms. We know who brought out procession encouraging the BDR butchers."

On March 13, he said: "We have gathered that a number of BDR jawans arrested in the mutiny case were involved in JMB somehow or other. I will not give more details as that might alert others having links to the mass killings."

On March 17, he observed: "Some people are trying to assist those who were directly involved in the mutiny."

Faruk, and some other ministers, had already come to a conclusion about the motive of the carnage--to destabilise the country and make it a "failed state".

Analysis and guess are one thing and probe outcomes are another. If one sets what to find for the investigators, the outcome becomes dubious. Let the facts talk, let the information reveal what the motive of the massacre was.

Incidentally, saner heads in the government have been holding their tongue. Law Minister Shafique Ahmed has said nobody should be specifically accused of having links with the conspiracy of the Pilkhana carnage before the enquiry reports are published.

[ALOCHONA] Dipu Moni keeps mum on barbed-wire fencing of border by Myanmar

Dipu Moni keeps mum on barbed-wire fencing of border by Myanmar

Defying a bilateral accord, Myanmar has started fencing along the Bangladesh border, according to government officials in Dhaka. The officials say some 200 "troops" have also been stationed just on the other side of the demarcation line.

"Officials of the coast guard and the deputy commissioner of Cox's Bazar have told me that a new contingent of troops has mobilised across the Naaf river," home secretary Abdus Sobhan Sikder told bdnews24.com Monday night.

"But this is nothing serious," he added. According to a bilateral agreement, neither Bangladesh nor Myanmar can fence along the border or mobilise troops along the line without cause. On Mar 15, according to the Bangladesh officials, , Myanmar's border force Na Sa Ka began deploying necessary equipment for fencing in the village Kyin Gun just across the bordering river Naaf.

"We have gathered they will construct a fence along Maungdaw township to Paletwa township," one senior official told bdnews24.com Monday. The official insisted he not be named.

A foreign ministry official claimed that the Myanmar ambassador in Dhaka met the foreign secretary at his office and informed the latter of the fencing plan last week. The foreign secretary, Md Touhid Hossain, denied having discussed any such thing with the Yangon diplomat. "We talked about the Rohingya problem," Touhid Hossain told bdnews24.com Monday night. "He did not tell me anything about fencing."

UNB adds:

Foreign Minister Dipu Moni preferred to keep mum on the reported barbed-wire fencing along Bangladesh border by Myanmar with the backing of its troops.

"I don't like to give any opinion…We'll firm up our stance considering the situation," he told reporters Tuesday at the Foreign Ministry when her comments were sought on the reported border fencing and mobilization of troops by Myanmar.

Asked whether the government is concerned over the situation along the Bangladesh-Myanmar border, she said if any situation of concern takes place along the country's frontier, "we will be concerned".

UNB Cox's Bazar correspondent Tofael Ahmed on Tuesday reported that the Myanmar authorities with the support of their border-force Nasaka and the army kept erecting fences on their territory along the Bangladesh border for the last two days.

Sources on the Myanmar side said the barbed-wire fencing is designed to stop acts of sabotage in Myanmar by Myanmar insurgent groups operating from Bangladesh territories, an allegation always denied by the Bangladesh government. The sources said the fencing was also aimed at halting the smuggling of prawn cultivated on the Myanmar side.

In another development, the Myanmar authorities are trying to construct a dam on the Dabfari Khal on the Myanmar side opposite to Ulubunia frontier in Hoaikong union of Teknaf upazila. In 2001, they also made a similar attempt but later retreated in the face of stiff protest by BDR personnel. Teknaf OC Jamal Uddin Chowdhury said BDR patrol has been strengthened in the area.

You raised some questions in your earlier post and I tried to respond to your questions and positions. I am not at all surprised that  you did not find any logic in my response. I am opposed to any politics that plays with religion (any religion).

The only point in your earlier post I did not respond to was your assertion " .. is it an attempt to cover up pro-Indian awami brutality?" because I could not find anything AL can gain out of this mess within months of getting in power when it is obvious (not to you for sure) that the main goal for this brutal massacre was to drag the whole country into a war and topple the elected govt that is in power.

It seems you are starkly opposed to Jamati ideology so you must put all blames (yours and others') on Jamatis. We find no other logic in your argument. It might serve you so much complacence but doesn't buy us at all. - Wohid

I do strongly believe most of the fringe militant (Islamic) groups are supported by JI in Bangladesh -- no I am not an Indian agent or paid agent of RAW! To create a massacre like the one in BDR, you don't need support of majority of the Bangladeshi people (actually if a good number of general people knew of it, it would have been stopped), you need a small group of fanatics who believe in some (misguided) ideology and would not mind sacrificing their lives for the greater "cause" they believe in. Just think about all the terrorist activities in Bangladesh and around the world, it is not supported by any large group of people, it has always been carried out a small group of people with misguided ideology.

Or is it an attempt to cover up pro-Indian awami brutality? How far you can deceive the people of the country by this type of blame game?

[ALOCHONA] 5-Step Detox to Revitalize You

5-Step Detox to Revitalize You

Dr. Mao's Secrets of Longevity
by Dr. Maoshing Ni a Yahoo! Health Expert for Cholesterol

Visit Cholesterol Home »

At the arrival of spring it is a natural instinct to cast off the winter blues and feel renewed. It is also a great time to eliminate the toxins that have been burdening your system, leaving you sluggish and fatigued. Make a clean sweep with the 5-step detox listed below!

Why you need to spring clean your body
Your body is naturally equipped with a self-cleaning process. But too much sugar, caffeine, processed foods, stress, and too little exercise can slow the body's natural detox function to a slow pace. And then your body can't clean itself when it is put up against the increasing number of harmful and toxic substances in the environment. Toxins come in many forms: pesticides in produce, formaldehyde in carpets and cosmetics, PCBs from plastic containers, dioxins from bleached paper products, and more.

Your body will process and eliminate some of the hordes of chemicals that enter, but overflow gets stored in the liver, lungs, kidneys, fat cells, intestines, blood stream, and skin—which can result in chronic illnesses down the road. When you undergo a detox, you get these toxins out of your system.

How do you know if you need a detox?
You know you're suffering from toxic overload if you are experiencing fatigue, memory decline, difficulty focusing, allergies and infections, irritability, anxiety and depression, difficulty with weight gain and weight loss, muscle and joint pain or weakness, skin rashes and outbreaks, recurrent yeast and fungal infections, constipation, diarrhea, abdominal bloating, and indigestion.

Most people report vast improvement in their symptoms after a detox. At first, you may feel a little fuzzy because of the toxins being released. However, when you stick with it, you will begin to feel more alert, energized, and full of vitality.

        At-Home Detox
Start small! Begin with a one-day program and gradually increase to one week or more. Here are 5 steps to a daily detox that will gently cleanse your body:

        1. Start the Detox Day Right
        • First thing in the morning, drink one lemon squeezed in 12 ounces of warm filtered water. Lemon activates your liver to release toxins and helps to cleanse and move the roughage that stays behind in your intestines.

        • Take acidophilus or a probiotic supplement. Acidophilus is one of the many "good" bacteria and yeasts known as the probiotics. Probiotics balance our intestinal functions, helping to break down food and control the "bad" bacteria that is also in your system—all of which optimizes the detoxification process. Always take probiotics on an empty stomach.

        2. Your Detox Meals
These meals are designed to jump-start your body into becoming healthier.
        • Breakfast: Eat oat bran cereal, brown rice, or any other whole grain cereal as long as it is unbleached and does not contain any added sugar or chemicals. Pair with unflavored soy milk.
        • Lunch or Dinner: Eat any combination of beans, brown rice, oat bran, vegetables, and organic chicken, turkey, or soy-products. When you eat, notice how your food affects you. You should feel satisfied and energized. If you feel tired and sluggish, try eating smaller meals so that you don't overwhelm your digestion and interfere with the detoxification process.

        3. Eat Green to Spring into Health
The green pigment in plants, chlorophyll, is structurally similar to the hemoglobin in the human body—the iron-containing element in blood. It increases red blood cell production and improves oxygenation, detoxification, and circulation. Be sure to eat several servings of fresh green vegetables every day during your detox. Try this super-cleansing broth and juice as a quick way to up your veggie intake.

Detox Broth: Add as many of these ingredients as you can into a large pot of filtered water: collards, Swiss chard, kale, mustard greens, cabbage, dandelion, Brussels sprouts, daikon radish, watercress, seaweed, shitake mushrooms, cilantro, garlic, leeks, fresh fennel, anise, fresh ginger, and turmeric. Boil until all ingredients are soft. You can make in a large batch and refrigerate for up to three days..

Detox Juice: Juice the following together: Aloe vera juice (which can be found in most health food stores), apples, asparagus, beets (including greens), cabbage, carrot and carrot greens, celery, cucumbers, and parsley. You can also purchase vegetable juice from the store, but be sure that it has no added salt or chemicals.

        4. Supplement Your Detox
        • Take a daily supplement of 1 tablespoon of flax seed oil, walnut oil, or deep-sea fish oil.
Green Tea is a strong antioxidant, and a great beverage choice for your detox.  Be sure to drink decaffeinated green tea.
Dandelion and Milk Thistle both protect and restore the liver. According to Chinese medicine, the liver is most active in the detoxification process during spring.
Ginger is a bowel and kidney cleanser. Make yourself tea from fresh ginger root during your detox.
A popular herbal formula among my patients is Internal Cleanse, a special combination of natural herbs to detoxify, calm nerves, clear the mind, promote emotional balance, and ease digestion. For more information, click here.

        5. Take an Invigorating Herbal Soak
Soak for 20 minutes in a revitalizing herbal bath. Help draw out toxins by infusing your bath water with eucalyptus, wintergreen, peppermint, fennel, cinnamon, and epsom salts.

Spring may be the best time to cleanse your body, but you don't have to wait until spring to start. Detoxification and cleansing is a healthy maintenance program for all seasons.

May you stay healthy, live long, and live happy!

        [ALOCHONA] Appeal to Bangladeshi mutineers

        Appeal to Bangladeshi mutineers

The new head of Bangladesh's paramilitary border security force has issued a statement to personnel urging them to respect the chain of command.

The statement by Gen Moinul Islam is one of the first communications between senior army officers and troops of the border force since a mutiny last month.

At least 74 people died when members of the Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) mutinied against the army leadership.

Gen Islam promised that those not involved would not be punished. But the statement - sent to BDR camps around the country - said that those people who did play a role could expect to be severely dealt with.

It also called upon personnel to help root out "bad elements" within the force. In an interview with the BBC's Bengali service, Gen Islam said that he would begin meeting BDR personnel next week.

        Discontent
Correspondents say that the general's statement was addressed primarily to those members of the BDR based outside of Dhaka who are currently carrying out border security duties. Full details of exactly what it says have not been released.

It is totally unacceptable that the militants had used a disciplined force like the Bangladesh Rifles for the massacre
        Faruk Khan, commerce minister

However it is known that Gen Islam reiterated the army's desire to reform the BDR - a process which is now underway - and announced that all members of the force would be screened to assess their suitability to continue serving.

It is also known that the statement appealed to BDR personnel to respect army officers commanding the force - many of whom have been newly appointed since the events of last month - and do everything they can to help them exercise their duties.

Correspondents say that discontent over the army's leadership of the BDR - coupled with poor promotion prospects within the force itself - are thought to be one of the reasons behind the mutiny.

But other reasons have also been put forward - including a suggestion that Islamic extremists may have played a role and theories that Indian or Pakistani intelligence agencies were involved. Some have argued that China had a hand in the mutiny while others have blamed the Indian separatist group, the United Liberation Front of Assam (Ulfa).

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina last week said that the mutiny was part of a conspiracy to bring down her new government. Hundreds of guardsmen have been arrested in connection with the mutiny but hundreds more are still sought.

The BDR is chiefly responsible for guarding the country's borders and its officers are drawn from the regular army. The mutiny began on 25 February at the BDR annual meeting at its headquarters in Dhaka but briefly spread to other barracks across the country.

The rebels surrendered after 33 hours but they killed at least 57 of their officers, including their commander. His wife and a number of other officers' wives were also killed.

[ALOCHONA] Re: Hasina's new degree - Daughter of Peace

Check their language and tone. This is exactly how these real hyenas
aka Shibir is taught. The answer to why they are so far away from real
Islam can be found in Moududi who didn't even hesitate to ridicule and
reject the Prophet (SA)'s sahih hadiths. Just for fun, check the email
        addresses they use:

dilkhola - when the dil is really closed

udarakash - when their akash is really small and narrow.
