The victors write the rules. If anybody expecting any fairness in those rules, should consider oneself as naive about the games of wars. In the past, many heads had to be rolled after victor taking over the new country while in the recent times, draconian and unfair conditions are imposed on the defeated forces. US might have acted very poorly but think about Hitler's Germany winning the war? Or say, Russians taking over whole Europe with the might of their mighty red army?
