Hasina is travelling to Canada with over a hundred of her travel companions. Some has already arrived, other will travel with her. 63 rooms were booked at the Omni hotel, the most expensive hotel in down town Montreal. She had planned for an outdoor meeting to speak about her so-called success. Canadian government already came to know her corrupt regime especially about the Padma Bridge scandal. To escape the serious allegation against them, the daughter and son in law are known to be hiding sometime in India and other times in Bangladesh.
This money for her travel to join the conference might come from commissions she made from billion of dollars she loaned from foreign governments for her "bamboo development" in Bangladesh and this expense would be a fraction of her commission from those projects. So money is not a problem at least for now. Surely, there will be money coming from the fund she will receive from the Global Fund meant to prevent Aids, Tuberculosis, and Malaria.
Hasina's high flying records matches only with her father. In 1974, Bangladesh was having a "man-made" famine. Remember, the same year Mujib came to Canada to attend the commonwealth conference with an entire plane load with his relatives and colleagues. The Bangladesh Biman was parked on the tarmac for a week and after the conference, when the Singapore President was leaving for home he saw from the commercial fight he took the Bangladesh plane was still parked (expensive) and several vans loading things into the plane. He was shocked that during the conference, the President of the most poor country was just begging for aids from donor countries. Strange but true, Mujibi style futani (luxury) still continues in Hasina.
To this Bhasani warned Mujib saying" Mujib, you aren't the son of a millionaire. Did Mujib think about these abuses he committed with people's money, when the Majors appeared in his leaving room asking for his accountability? Mujib was the head of the state of the bottomless basket case. Does the daughter has anything to learn from her father's mistakes? Is it that fascists never learn?
