I heard a TV-clip of Khaleda Zia's latest speech, where she was defending terrorists that have been caught and punished so far. She called them BNP cadres, and claimed that Government is framing them being terrorists. She was also saying - Government catch innocent BNP members, hold them until they grow beard, and then bring them back on TV to portray them as terrorists.
This is such a bizarre claim by the head of a political party, when people can see most of the recent terrorists are jeans-wearing, clean-shaven, university students, and many of them are seen on CCTV as perpetrating heinous crimes.
I was asking myself, why would the major opposition party leader will come forward to own these criminals as being members of BNP?
Then, I thought that - since there are only two viable political streams in Bangladesh – 1) pro-independence and 2) anti-independence, and Khaleda Zia is the leader of the anti-independence political stream, formed by her husband Major Zia, this party is created as a refuse for all subversive agents, who opposed the ideals of liberation of Bangladesh. This group cannot talk about political ideology to win popular support, so, to create a political back-door to come to power, they resort to chaos and terrorism to destabilize the society and the economy. Hence, terrorists find a safe-haven in BNP.
Now, it makes perfect sense to me, when Khaleda Zia comes forward to defend terrorists, as being BNP cadres; she is just telling the truth.

গতকাল ৩ সেপ্টেম্বর ২০১৬ শনিবার রাত ১০টা ৩০ মিনিটে গাজিপুরের কাশিমপুর কেন্দ্রীয় কারাগারে একাত্তরের মানবতাবিরোধী যুদ্ধাপরাধী কুখ্যাত বদর নেতা মীর কাসেম আলী'র ফাঁসি কার্যকর হয়েছে। জামায়াত নেতা মীর কাসেমের ফাঁসি কার্যকর করায় জামায়াতের পরম বন্ধু একাত্তরের পরাজিত শক্তি পাকিস্তান আবারো ক্ষুদ্ধ প্রতিক্রিয়া জানিয়েছে।পাকিস্তানের পররাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ের ওয়েব সাইটে এক প্রেস রিলিজে পাকিস্তান দাবি করেছে- ''ত্রুটিপূর্ণ বিচারে ১৯৭১ এর ডিসেম্বরের আগে অপরাধ সংঘটনের অভিযোগে বাংলাদেশের জামায়াতে ইসলামীর 'প্রখ্যাত' নেতা মীর কাসেম আলীর মৃত্যুদণ্ড কার্যকরে পাকিস্তান গভীরভাবে মর্মাহত। ত্রুটিপূর্ণ বিচারের মাধ্যমে বিরোধীদের দমন পুরোপুরি গণতান্ত্রিক চেতনার পরিপন্থি।বাংলাদেশ সরকারের প্রতি ১৯৭৪ সালের ভারত-পাকিস্তান ও বাংলাদেশের ত্রিপক্ষীয় চুক্তি অনুসরণের আহ্বান জানিয়ে পাকিস্তান দাবি করেছে, ক্ষমার আওতায় বিচার না করার সিদ্ধান্ত হয়েছিল ওই চুক্তিতে। পাকিস্তান ওই ত্রিপক্ষীয় চুক্তির বিপরীতে বাংলাদেশকে স্বীকৃতি দিয়েছিল। যা রক্ষা করা বাংলাদেশের কর্তব্য।''পাকিস্তান সুস্পষ্টভাবে আবারো বাংলাদেশের অভ্যন্তরীণ বিষয়ে নাক গলিয়েছে। একাত্তরের মানবতাবিরোধী যুদ্ধাপরাধীদের এ পর্যন্ত যাদেরই বিচারের রায় যখনই কার্যকর হয়েছে, তখন থেকে প্রতিবারই একাত্তরের পরাজিত শক্তি পাকিস্তানের বারবার এই অনাকাঙ্খিতভাবে বাংলাদেশের অভ্যন্তরীণ বিষয়ে হস্তক্ষেপ একটি রীতিতে পরিণত হয়েছে। সর্বশেষ একাত্তরের কুখ্যাত বদর নেতা মীর কাসেম আলীর ফাঁসি কার্যকরের পর পাকিস্তান আবারো আন্তর্জাতিক কূটনৈতিক শিষ্টাচার লংঘন করলো।বাংলাদেশ সরকারের উচিত ঢাকায় নিযুক্ত পাকিস্তান হাই কমিশনারকে ডেকে এই শিষ্টাচার লংঘনের বিষয়ে কড়াভাবে জবাব চাওয়া। পাকিস্তান যে এখনো সেই একাত্তরের পুরানো মিত্রদের ভুলতে পারেনি, এখনো যে তারা বাংলাদেশের বিরুদ্ধে সেই পুরানো মিত্রদের নিয়ে ষড়যন্ত্রে লিপ্ত, পাকিস্তান পররাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ের এই বিবৃতি তারই সুস্পষ্ট উদাহরণ।বাংলাদেশ একটি স্বাধীন ও সার্বভৌম রাষ্ট্র। ১৯৭১ সালের ১৬ ডিসেম্বর পাকিস্তানের ৯৩ হাজার প্রশিক্ষিত সেনা ঢাকার রেসকোর্স ময়দানে বীর বাঙ্গালীর কাছে আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে আত্মসমর্পণ করেছিল। সেই পরাজয়ের স্মৃতি পাকিস্তান কোনোদিন ভুলতে পারবে না। একাত্তরের পরাজিত শত্রু পাকিস্তান সেই কষ্টের ভার এখনো বহন করে বলেই জামায়াত ও নিজেদের সেই ভয়ংকর অপরাধকে এখনো মেনে নিতে পারেনি।এমন কি আজ পর্যন্ত পাকিস্তান বাংলাদেশের কাছে, বাংলাদেশের জনগণের কাছে ক্ষমা চায়নি। একাত্তরের সেই ঘৃর্ণ্য অপরাধের জন্য পাকিস্তানকে নিঃশর্তভাবেই ক্ষমা চাইতে হবে। যতদিন পাকিস্তান ক্ষমা না চাইবে ততদিন পাকিস্তানের সঙ্গে আর কোনো সম্পর্ক নয়।পাকিস্তান আবারো যে ধৃষ্টতা দেখিয়েছে, এখন বাংলাদেশের উচিত ঢাকায় নিযুক্ত পাকিস্তান হাই কমিশনকে যথাযথভাবে জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ করা। আর যদি সঠিক জবাব পাওয়া না যায়, তাহলে পাকিস্তানের সঙ্গে সব ধরনের কূটনৈতিক সম্পর্ক ছিন্ন করা। পাকিস্তান তাদের আচরণ দিয়েই বারবার বুঝিয়ে দেয় তারা কোনোদিন বাংলাদেশের বন্ধু ছিল না, ভবিষ্যতেও বন্ধু হতে পারবে না। বরং তারা কূটনৈতিক সম্পর্কের আড়ালে বাংলাদেশে নানান ষড়যন্ত্র করার সুযোগ পাচ্ছে।চব্বিশ ঘণ্টার মধ্যে ঢাকায় নিযুক্ত পাকিস্তানের হাই কমিশনারকে ডেকে যথাযথ জবাব না পেলে তাকে বরখাস্ত করাই হবে বাংলাদেশ সরকারের জন্য সবচেয়ে যথার্থ সিদ্ধান্ত। একটি স্বাধীন দেশের আন্তর্জাতিক ট্রাইব্যুনাল নিয়ে পাকিস্তানের মিথ্যাচারকে হজম করা বাংলাদেশের জন্য মোটেও উচিত কাজ হবে না। আমাদের পররাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়কে আজই পাকিস্তানের এই ধৃষ্টতার তীব্র প্রতিক্রিয়া দিতে হবে।পাকিস্তান সরকারের এই ঘৃর্ণ্য ধৃষ্টতার জন্য তীব্র ধিক্কার ও প্রতিবাদ জানাই। পাকিস্তানের সঙ্গে আর কোনো বন্ধুত্ব আমরা দেখতে চাই না। পাকিস্তান কার্যত একটি ব্যর্থ রাষ্ট্র। আর সেই ব্যর্থ রাষ্ট্রের এমন ধৃষ্টতা বাংলাদেশ মোটেও মেনে নিতে পারে না।
