Bangladesh is not quite about the Rohingya situation. Sentimentalizing is a kind of deliberate misreporting, or resorting to the new-fangled trend called "post-truth". The truth is Bangldesh has let thousands of persecuted Rohingyas in over the years. There is a large Rohingya refugee camp. It is also true that Bangladesh provides food, medicine and other humanitarian aids to the displaced people that arrive from Myanmar to our shores.
We cannot let any more Rohingyas into Bangldesh.
আইনী সমস্যা আছে। সীমান্ত খুলে দিলে রোহিঙ্গাদেরকে Refugee Status দেওয়া হয়ে যায়। অর্থাৎ, তারা তাদের নিজেদের রাষ্ট্র থেকে বিতাড়িত -- এই স্বীকৃতি পেয়ে যাবে। সেটা বাংলাদেশের জন্য মোটেই কাম্য নয়, কারণ আমরা প্রতিবেশী মিয়ানমারের সঙ্গে কোন হিংসাত্মক সংঘর্ষে লিপ্ত নই, বা লিপ্ত হতে চাই না। স্মরণে থাকতে পারে ১৯৭১ -- পূর্ব সীমান্ত থেকে দশ মিলিয়ন রিফিউজিকে ভারত ঠাঁই দিয়েছিল এইজন্য যে পাকিস্তান নামক রাষ্ট্রের সঙ্গে ভারতের বৈৈরী সম্পর্ক ছিল। If for nothing else, India had the right to attack Pakistan's Eastern province in 1971 in order to prevent the huge influx of refugees into its own territory.
স্বদেশ রায় লিথছেন << তাই এখন আন্তর্জাতিক ফোরাম ও বিশ্বের বড় শক্তিগুলোর দায়িত্ব সুচিকে তিরস্কার করা নয়, কীভাবে তিনি শক্তিশালী হয়ে মিয়ানমারে এমন গণতন্ত্র আনতে পারেন যাতে কেউ আর রাষ্ট্র দ্বারা নির্যাতিত হবে না, বহিষ্কৃত হবে না সে কাজ করতে পারেন। কিন্তু দুর্ভাগ্য হলো, জাতিসংঘের উদ্বাস্তু বিষয়ক অঙ্গটি ইতোমধ্যে রোহিঙ্গাদের বাঁচাতে বাংলাদেশের সীমান্ত খুলে দিতে বলেছে। এমন মস্তিষ্ক নিয়ে যদি জাতিসংঘ চলে তাহলে তো পৃথিবীর কপালে দুর্ভাগ্য আছে। মিয়ানমারের সমস্যা মিয়ানমারেই জাতিসংঘকে সমাধান করতে হবে। >> -
