[mukto-mona] Re: Kaba shari

When I read your posts, you are all over on everything whether they are relevant or not to the discussion. But let me give you a pass on that habit of mixing up things that is so painful to navigate your thought process.

Islamic teachings are basically anti-science and that is why you seldom see a Muslim winning Nobel prize while non-Muslim countries with secular education and with open minds have done so much for the science and development of our world (your video as the reference!). Many Muslims still foolishly think that Koran is the mother of all science and it is only matter of time when all these nature secrets would be revealed to them by Allah if people keep praying diligently five times a day? Needless to say that past/current Muslim countries were/are run by poor leaders and masses have become far more dumber than they used to be some thousand years ago. Only way for Muslims to make progress is to adopt a secular science/art education and be at par with other communities. Keep the Koran at home when you come to a school for a true educational experience! That should be the Mantra for all including stubborn Muslim masses!

Though leaders were against science, but some of its preaching helped creating an culture of enlightenment or higher purpose. Free enterprise doesn't make an entrepreneur out of everybodyinit , but enough to justify it ; Like wise , during those two millennium, religion made a similar difference. Even Muslim, in the first few centuries of Islam made significant contribution in maths and astronomy. When sharia law went mainstream and started replacing core of Islam with tribal laws that predating Islam, all went down hill from there. Kamal Aturk brought back muslim into modern world by banning sharia law, But in eighties again started slip sliding slowly in to danger zone of sharia Law.

Today science is at such a point, anybody with opportunity and desire to a make living in it, they don;t have to be as sharp, to do it, thanks to of the contribution of great minds from centuries ago,

I buy the argument Kaba Sharif is good reference to satisfy omnipresent on earth clause, which pagan realized too. But how about omnipresent in context of universe, this kid wants to know in that context. If anybody has good answer please free to offer.

Baghdad was the center of science
