"If 90% Bangladeshi Muslims are in sleep, then neither Hefazot nor any party cannot do anything."--Razzak S
Exactly. For that matter, if the Bangladeshis do not want to change their fate, nobody can help.

Let's not keep defending KZ for everything. Mistake/miscalculation/blunder should be treated as such. In most issues, one gets one take only. An opportunity missed can rarely be retaken. True, Hasina committed, and continues to commit, much biggers blunders, scandals yet she is reigning supreme. She gets away with it because she is in power. Additionally, India is with her. KZ and BNP virtually lost everything, despite the party's strong support base. KZ's another mega failure, as I see it, is her inability to get all the anti-Awami element under one umbrella. And, her failures are Hasina's success.

I also agree that after using Hefazot to its benefit, Hasina will throw it away like chewed sugar cane. Remember the JI syndrome of the 1990s? AL used Jamat in 1996 against BNP (In fact, demand of CTG was JI's which AL used successfully). The moment JI switched alliance in 2001, Hasina started hanging its leaders on flimsy but very potent chetona and grounds.

Today, Hasina tried to appease its cohorts that there was no Sonod or সন্ধি with Hefazot. Whatever she did was only to bring the Madrasa educated students in the social and economic mainstream. Very potent argument! But the fact is Hefazot has been bought over or neutralized. My questions is, what is KZ doing to offset the situation, or in other words, to win the Hafazot over?

Also, these Sufis and Maulanas need to come out of their comfort zones. They need to come out of the Tetul Totto and try to mold the Islamic education, without compromising the basic edicts, to adapt to the modern life. If that is impossible, they have no place in the modern world; they should then seek salvation in some remote island or in a jungle. Sorry to be a little blunt!

So, what kind of Muslim would you call our "Super Mawlana" Allama Safi who preaches all out "Morals, Wisdom" and more importantly, the "TEACHINGS of ISLAM" to his own "followers" but does not comply those in his own "personal and public" life?

Don't you believe, these kind of Moral/Ethical aberrations shall create resentments, disappointment and frustration among his "solid" followers? Isn't he their ROLE MODEL? Does he care them anymore?

Also, would India ever welcome a "PERMANENT" political "Hot Chocolate" relationship between Hasina and Hefajat?

Regards.

Dear Goni Bhai,
AWRB. I didn't meant Hafez Moulana Sufi Shaheb as ignorant Muslims, it's ordinary Muslims, like myself who keep quiet and ignorant during choosing the leaders or don't raise voices against the infidels or hypocrites.

For Br. Razzak: ""the biggest enemy of Islam is ignorant Muslims".

It is extremely difficult for me to designate Hefajaot Amir, Allama Safi as an "ignorant Muslim" or intellectual "think tanks" like DR. Taufiq Elahi (Koran-e- Hafez"............................!!

For Prof. Jalal Uddin Khan: ......"about Khaleda Zia, who I think did her part, in and out of power."
Not quite! Only "Mission Accomplished" would have been "did her part. Also, Rise of Hefajot after election victory of Imam Hasina would invite expedited death of Hefajot aka "terrorists Group".

Thanks Razzak Syed Bhai and Mohammad Gani Bhai for your comments. It is one's greed for power and another's need for recognition that brought the two closer. I don't predict Hefajote's demise after the election.  I predict the opposite--the rise of Hefajote, which I welcome, as I do their being recognized by Hasina. In fact, I congratulate them both. That's why I used the word "overdue" in my earlier post. I was just arguing against Farhad Mazhar's statement about Khaleda Zia,  who I think did her part, in and out of power. After killing them,  Hasina is now caring for them, both being easy for her to do when she is ruthlessly in power.

Dear Goni Bhai,
AWRB. I do agree with you, if BAL wins next election, then not only the Hefazot will finish, it will be like Spain, whole Muslim Ummah in Bangladesh will be on death threat. Every individual citizen of Bangladesh has moral obligations towards the nation n their faiths.

As Late Ahmed Didat ( May Allah's mercy be with him) said "the biggest enemy of Islam is ignorant Muslims". If 90% Bangladeshi Muslims are in sleep, then neither Hefazot nor any party cannot do anything. As Allah ( SWT) mentioned in the Quran, Muslims changes their fates by their actions.

May Allah (SWT) give us hidyah and guide us to right path which he loves.

Wassaalam,

True, the "DEATH THREAT" is surely "ON HOLD" until the "Day of Judgement" (Election).

After that, Hefajot will be "FINISHED"!
Don't you think so?

Dear Jalal Bhai,
AWRB. In my view, decision of Sufi Shaheb isn't wrong, Qaomi madrasah was in death threats, now at least, they have got their life back. Now duty left up to the individual voters to play their cards.

Like the recently published Maj Gen Fazlur Rahman's Facebook article about Bangladeshi nationalism against the idea of Akhand Bharat, which also expressed his support for Hasina's recent but overdue recognition of Qaomi education,  I enjoyed reading Farhad Mazhar's article too, also expressing his support for Hasina's Qaomi award. However, I couldn't quite agree with his statement quoted above.  Khaleda made the first positive overture to the Qaomi in 2006, of course, short of official sealing of the deal, which she, however, did, unofficially though but most publicly and boldly, at the risk of her life,  being out of power, when she called for the people to come out in support of the Hefajote during its fateful meeting in May 2013, that ended in the Hasina inflicted bloodshed. As part of the process, Khaleda did her part. Now, Hefajote decided to accept the prize from their bloody enemy, going back on their earlier declaration that they won't take any laurel from the bloody hand of Hasina and also walking over the blood of their own compatriots. It is the competition and conspiracy of both fate and politics that are playing out to the mutually exclusive detriment and advantage to the people according to their resprctive position on the political wheel of fortune.
