[mukto-mona] Re: {PFC-Friends} Re: Shafi of Hefojat Islam now put Sk Hasina under his hefajot

First of all, I am not laying a "trap" for anyone. I believe members of this group are well educated and well meaning, except a few like perhaps FM herself. They are no kids or primary students that they need to be taught new and basic lessons of history, politics and society.

For the first time, I learn that religion was a issue in the Benglali language movement and it was a movement against the "British-initiated practice of defining people's "identity" by religion."

Even if Jinnah and other Pakistani leaders identified Urdu with Islam, it was not an issue for Bengali language movement; it was a movement for mother tongue, Bengali culture and Bengali identity, in which the language of 56% was abjectly ignored in preference of Urdu, a language spoken only by 30% in West Pakistan, mostly by the Mohajers from India.

Secondly, it seems that FM is allergic to the word "Islam" or "Muslim." May I ask why? It were the people of then East Bengal, your parents, grandparents and neighbors included, who overwhelmingly voted in 1946 for a separate Muslim homeland in India. Would you like to go and desecrate them in their graves? In a country where Muslims form over 90% of the population, what is your problem if the Constitution starts with Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim and Islam becomes the stated religion? Does it in any way restricts the performance of faith by other groups. Has anyone stops Hindus umpteen pujas and Baro Mashe Tero Kati? Have the Christians stopped going to churches? Have the Buddhists not praying in their temples? Did anyone force the animists or pagans to recite kalema or offer prayers? Has anyone asked you, FM, to keep reciting Bismillah or give Azaan? So, stop crowing and exposing your ugly mindset.

I am not sure what is current faith of FM; whatever, it is her choice. But she has no right to demean, defame and disown the faith and convictions of her forefathers. I belive: Lakum deenukum wal ya deen. If FM wants to roam around in the nude beaches, it is her choice, but she cannot ask nice and decent people to shun their modesty and join her "primitive jungle club."

In East Pakistan, the Language movement represented the move against the British-initiated practice of defining people's "identity" by religion.  Yes, that was Bangalee Muslim's rejection of the cruel, inhuman and unearthly formula of "one religion, one nation" the formula that led to the creation of Pakistan.

The British were so confounded by the co-mixture of so many religions, languages, customs and even laws in India that they decided to break up the harmony in every which way they could. One of the ways was to count people by their religious identities only (The Census of Bengal, 1872). They even started ascribing religious identities to languages -- Muslim Indian language and Hindu Indian language, etc. This forced pre-selected classification ignores other principles of grouping.

Unfortunately a great human tragedy befell the people of India based on those silly, imparactical, hatemongering notions of religious identity -- not religion itself.   It was partitioned.  The birth of Bangladesh is arevolt and a negation  of that ridiculous and disasterous 2-nation theory.

Please read my article that was published in the New Age but blogged by many -- including Pakistani presses."

Big head Anis, you are as stupid as FM. We, the people of Bangladesh, then East Pakistan did not embrace 'the so-called secularism before 1972. There were no discussions no talks on the subject even remotely or rhetorically ever spoken by any political figure. It was forcefully shoved in to the nation  by another big head Mr. .... Chandu. Mr. Chowdhury, was referring only that. Don't twist knowingly you dumb headed, Lilliput.

I am surprised Ranu Choudhury did not hear about "Secularism" before 1972. Was he not born before 1972 or was he on another planet before that year?

FM was referring to the Two Nation Theory (TNT) that culminated in two nations in 1947. This TNT was not invented in 1947. The TNT is now totally discredited and despised. Yes, the TNT had spawned into Three Nations and Bangladesh is the beneficiary.

But even the ardent Pakistani agents and supporters would not argue that West Pakistani criminals and Punjabi thugs wanted to impose Urdu in the then East Pakistan in order to create Bangladesh. Bangladesh came into being, not as a result of a grand design or a historical strategy, but as a result of geopolitical machination. In this respect I fully agree with Ranu Chowdhury that even Sheikh Mujibur Rahman did not anticipate or even venture to utter the word "Bangladesh" before 7 March 1971. If he or anybody else would have done that, that person would have been imprisoned immediately for treason or even hanged. That was the regime we lived in. Those people who now cry for Pakistan should remember that.

Is it? Where, which sector she fought in 1971? In Agartala or chokirtola? Some idiots keep crowing that people fought to establish in Bangladesh "Secularism", a word no Bengalis came across before January 10, 1972. Now another (you know what) comes to say that the fight was against the
IDEA of Pakistan -- against the 2-nation theory of 1947.

Is it there in Mujib's 6-Points? Has anyone heard it during the 1969 movement? During the 1970 election campaign? During any of the talks between Mujib and the Pakistani junta in January-March 1971? Mujib and Awami League participated in the 1970 elections on the basis of President Yahya's LFO which had guarantee clauses for the unity of Pakistan. Mujib's March 7, 1971 speech ended with Pakistan Zindabad. Mujib negotiated with the junta until March 25 for unity of Pakistan. So where does the contrary idea about Two Nation Theory (TNT)show up?

Shahadat Bhai put it rightly when he said: "We fought for power share and justice. As a matter of Lahore resolution got fully implemented two nation theory after emancipation of Bangladesh." That is, it is because of  TNT, we won Bangladesh. Otherwise, where would Bangladesh be? With India? In the Bay of Bengal?
I am no fan of TNT, but it was necessary for the Muslims in India in 1947. Even Nehru pushed for it. Mujib as a student leader fought for it.

FM should go back to basis history classes before making such idiotic comments.

The statement above fully characterizes Ms. Bua. Her statement, "In 1971 we bravely fought against, and WON the fight against the IDEA of Pakistan -- against the 2-nation theory of 1947.", is totally a false statement. We fought for power share and justice. As a matter of Lahore resolution got fully implemented two nation theory after emancipation of Bangladesh.

The true shall prevail, the falsehood will be destroyed by their own activity and actions.

Razzak bhai, don,t you be worried on what people like 'Bua' says.

Where is Mr. Deeelder?

Ms. FM,
Your statement "In 1971 we bravely fought against, and WON the fight against the IDEA of Pakistan -- against the 2-nation theory of 1947."

Can you check the history and find out who was behind the 2-nation theory and why? Current status of Bangladesh is the answer to it.
