There is nothing wrong in the video. Sheikh is giving Tafseer of an ayah from the Quran. Mr. Guha didn't follow the English subtitles in the video. Sheikh clearly explained, beating wife with any hard objects are forbidden other than Meswak (Toothbrush) like objects which doesn't hurt her or cause any injury to her. 

Even harming own body for men or women is forbidden in Islam, that's why Smoking cigarettes or drugs is considered as haram.

Where as Guha's BJP MP's giving Bats to women to protect themselves from physical abuse by their drunken husband or husband involved in adultery. 

So wife will beat the husband to leave the house and use the bat as substitute? 

This Guha truly blind Islam hater, he is a devil's character, he thinks hating Islam is a aristocracy.

 Bloody fools.

Thank you for sharing with us. I hope, you understand that Prophet Muhammad (SM) never ever scold anybody including his wives, lest beat them. Always, there are some exceptions that Allah, The Creator, kept as way-outs of some situation (not closing the doors, while not encouraging those exceptions) which is, again, not a license to anybody to beat their wives, even animals.

Some people always, because of their instinctive nature, and/or cultures, try to overuse/misuse their so-called power to subdue the partners/others. There are revelations scolding men for their overdone-behaviors which are not discussed unfortunately!

May God/Allah give all of us better understanding!
