Muslims need to respect the local traditions as they demand the same from their minorities in Muslim dominated countries like Pakistan and Bangladesh where minority numbers have been dwindling since 1947. Educationally and intellectually Indian Muslims are in far better position than in Pakistan and Bangladesh but they are also dragged into infidel-Muslim conflict. It is rather sad that they are facing the Hindu wrath in India while other minorities have been doing very good in India. If others can get along with Hindus, why not Muslims? Why not tone down the beef mania?
Europe and US are also becoming more intolerant against Muslims since 9/11. If Muslims would continue covertly and overtly support terror acts, the future would be totally unpredictable and dangerous. Many innocent Muslims will be victims.... not for their sins but belonging to a faith that preaches violence against infidels. Beef eating in the US and EU would not be an issue but other Muslim stubbornness might be picked on by white Christians. You simply can't live in a infidel society and preach violence against the host. Respect the local customs and be respected in return! English mosques are also becoming increasingly radicalized to promote hate and violence. I am not sure where this will end. Would history repeat itself again? With Saudis and Iran fighting for supremacy, I see more fireworks from their non-state actors. প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদীর বার্তাতেও গোরক্ষকদের তাণ্ডব থামানো যাচ্ছে না। গরুর নামে গণপিটুনি এবং খুনের নিন্দা করে গত শুক্রবার প্রধানমন্ত্রী মুখ খোলার কয়েক ঘণ্টার মধ্যেই বিজেপি-শাসিত ঝাড়খণ্ডের রামগড়ে গণপিটুনিতে মারা যান একজন। এ বারে বিজেপি-শাসিত অসমে গোরক্ষকদের তাণ্ডবে আহত হয়েছেন তিনটি ট্রাকের চালক ও খালাসি। পরে পুলিশ গিয়ে আহতদের উদ্ধার করে।
মোদী জমানায় দেশের নানা প্রান্তে গো-রক্ষকদের নামে তাণ্ডবে ইতিমধ্যেই মারা গিয়েছেন বেশ কয়েক জন। একের পর এক এই ধরনের ঘটনায় বিদেশেও তীব্র সমালোচনার মুখে পড়ে অবশেষে গত সপ্তাহে মুখ খুলেছেন মোদী।
রবিবার গুয়াহাটির অদূরে ডিমোরিয়ায় 'হিন্দু যুব ছাত্র পরিষদ' নামে একটি গোরক্ষক সংগঠনের সদস্যরা তিনটি গরু বোঝাই ট্রাককে আটক করে সেগুলির চালক ও খালাসিকে ব্যাপক মারধর করে। অভিযোগ, ট্রাক চালকদের কাছে বৈধ কাগজপত্র ছিল। এই তাণ্ডবের ছবি সোশ্যাল মিডিয়ায় ছড়িয়ে পড়তেই নড়েচড়ে বসেছে রাজ্য প্রশাসন। রাজ্য পুলিশের ডিজি মুকেশ সহায় জানিয়েছেন, ওই ঘটনায় ভিডিও ফুটেজ থেকে হামলাকারীদের চিহ্নিত করা হচ্ছে। দ্রুত তাদের গ্রেফতারও করা হবে। এই সংগঠনটির বিষয়েও তদন্ত হবে।
অন্য দিকে ঝাড়খণ্ডের রামগড়ে গণপিটুনির ঘটনায় অন্যতম অভিযুক্ত দীপক মিশ্র ও ছোটু বর্মা আত্মসমর্পণ করেছে বলে জানিয়েছে পুলিশ। রামগড়ের এসপি কিশোর কৌশল জানান, এখনও পর্যন্ত ওই ঘটনায় ১০ জনকে হেফাজতে নিয়েছে পুলিশ।
দেশজোড়া গোরক্ষকদের তাণ্ডবের মধ্যে কিছুটা ভিন্ন পথে হাঁটার ইঙ্গিত দিল মহারাষ্ট্র। সেখানে রাজ্য পুলিশ এক নির্দেশিকায় জানিয়েছে, কোনও অবস্থাতেই গোরক্ষকরা যাতে নিজেদের হাতে আইন তুলে না নেন, তা নিশ্চিত করতে হবে। কোনও অভিযোগ পেলে তা খতিয়ে দেখে তবেই ব্যবস্থা নিতে প্রতিটি থানাকে নির্দেশও দেওয়া হয়েছে।
