[mukto-mona] 4-Astronauts flew to ISS today (International Space Station)

Dear Friends,

Here is the video link to the SpaceX/NASA space flight of 4-Astronauts today (Nov-15-2020) to ISS (International Space Station):

Here is a picture of their flight just a short time after their start:

A SpaceX spacecraft carrying four astronauts soared into outer space today (Sunday-Nov-15-2020) — marking the kickoff of what NASA hopes will be years of the company helping to keep the International Space Station fully staffed. NASA astronauts Michael Hopkins, Victor Glover, Shannon Walker, and Soichi Noguchi, are now in orbit, riding aboard a SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule that is expected to dock with the ISS on Monday at 11 pm ET. That means the crew will spend 27 hours in orbit as the spacecraft slowly maneuvers toward its destination.

Here is a picture of the International Space Station (ISS) (Wikipedia):

The International Space Station (ISS) is a modular space station (habitable artificial satellite) in low Earth orbit. It is a multinational collaborative project between five participating space agencies: NASA (USA), Russia, Japan, Europe, and Canada. The station serves as a microgravity and space environment research laboratory in which scientific research is conducted in astrobiology, astronomy, physics and physical sciences, materials science, space weather, meteorology, and human research including space medicine and the life sciences. The most notable ISS experiment is the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer (AMS), which is intended to detect dark matter and answer other fundamental questions about our universe and is as important as the Hubble Space Telescope according to NASA. The first results from the space-borne Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer (ASM) confirm an unexplained excess of high-energy positrons in Earth-bound cosmic rays, hinting some clue about the dark matter.

The ISS is the largest artificial object in space and the largest satellite in low Earth orbit, regularly visible to the naked eye from Earth's surface. The ISS was launched about 22 years ago in Nov-1998. The ISS is about 250 miles away from the Earth, and orbiting the Earth at about 17,000 mph. So, with an orbital period of about one and half hour, the ISS is orbiting the Earth about 16 times per day. (-Wikipedia)
