Re: [mukto-mona] Fw: Former ISI Chief's Interview with Naya Diganta

This newspaper interview means nothing. The information that was disclosed in the court was under oath, and those are classified information. ISI-Chief is not under the same costraints to disclose the same information again for a news paper interview. Whatever he said in this interview is just a whiteout version of the document.

This should answer the lies of all those who are trying to muddy the water.

Wassalam

Numan

These acts are condemnable by any civilized standard, and the perpetrators should be appropriately punished. However, I have been unwilling to entertain the big talks of Bangladeshis being killed by the BSF.

Here is a case where four Indian citizens were tortured and killed by the border guards of India (BSF). There is no doubt that among the smugglers there are more Bangladeshis than Indians, and more Bangladeshis are likely to face the treatments of the jungle by the BSF. Yes, a lot of the law enforcement in our subcontinent is done via barbaric techniques. That is very wrong, and needs to be corrected; and looks like the Indian authorities are trying to do that for the cattle smugglers. The Bangladeshi news media and human rights group have been doing a disservice to their professions by portraying the criminals at the border as ordinary/innocent Bangladeshis.

Respected Sir

I want to attract your attention to an incident of gruesome killings of 4 teenaged boys by the posted Border Security Force personnel. I am perturbed with the fact and reality of continuous killing spree by BSF personnel at the Indo- Bangladesh bordering district. In this shocking incident, BSF personnel following their mandate not used lethal weapon to kill those boys rather forced the victims to stay put in ice cold water for hours and while they tried to came out of water severely beaten with sticks. Ultimately they died. Out of four victims, three boys are from Dalit community and one from religious minority group.

The inhumanity shown by the BSF personnel is against any law of civilized land and in continuation of savage and berserk act of torture and intimidation.

The families of deceased are under threat and not in a position to make complaint to police station in regular course nonetheless gathered courage and made written complaints to the Superintendent of Police – Murshidabad but without any recourse. They specifically demanded for an impartial inquiry on the incident.

I demand for an impartial investigation by your Commission over the incident and charging of the offenders with appropriate legal provisions. I further request your Commission to recommend for full safety and security for the family members of the deceased.

Our attached detail will prove severity of the incident.

On fateful day the mentioned boys in their teen were out of their houses on the pretext of having a New Year bash but it was revealed during the fact finding that they were involved in cattle rattling as mere courier at the said time. They collected about 50 cows from some Dhananjay Mondal and Sandip Mondal Border Para and Char Durgapur under Raninangar police station. The said boys were with other rattlers who tried to smuggle out the cattle at the midnight from the adjacent area of the said Mini Camp.  By sensing this BSF personnel fired from flare gun and located that few of them tried to hide at the said rivulet. The rivulet is nearly 2 kilometers inside the Indian Territory and 120 feet in width, 12 feet deep and 2 kilometers in length. BSF personnel from the Mini Camp wasted no time and traveled about 2 kilometers to reach at the place from the said Mini Camp. The mentioned 4 teenage boys with another rattler Tapas Mondal alias Bhenu Mondal, son of Panchanan Mondal of Char Durgapur village were surrounded by nearly 30 BSF personnel. Fathers of the deceased boys made written complaint on 27.1.2012 to the Superintendent of Police- Murshidabad. The complainants observed about the involvement of BSF personnel in this gruesome murder of the teenaged boys and requested for a impartial and adequate inquiry.  The police initiated unnatural death cases vide Ranitala PS UD Case Nos. 1 and 2,  dated 2.1.12 for Sunil Mondal and Sukumar Mondal respectively and 3 and 4, dated 3.1.12 for Babar Seikh and Raju Mondal respectively. Re: [mukto-mona] Burqa banning after RAJUK, now Syedpur's Lions school and college: Minority Islam in Muslim majority Bangladesh

Mr. Chakrabarty thinks everybody but me is with him.  Being incorrigibly 'wise' he fails to see that God is a tribal lord.  Even the descendants of Abraham had different Gods.  Allah has ninety nine names, or 'Shayang Bhagwan' Krishna has hundred and eight for that matter, pointing not to so many manifestations but to so many different original constituents.  Most of the findings about Islam in the west is a post-Tagore phenomenon.  Just because some 'wise men' called the prophet 'Maharshi' he doesn't become infallible.  The research on Islam got momentum after Alfred Gillaum translated Ibn Hisham edited biography of the prophet written by Ibn Ishaque.  Whatever Mr. Chakrabarty might read, he comprehends next to nothing.  He should increase the dose of 'pancha gabya' in his diet to improve his comprehension.  May Allah grant him an Islamic paradise.

I think Mr. Chakrabarty is denigrating the "we" word a bit too much here. I have no intention of comparing my mind with that of any 'maharhishi' of any variety, Hindu, Muslim, Christian, or Jew. I put Buddha at a higher plane compared to the other 'maharhishis'. 'Maharhishi' or not, we came from our forefathers, and they had their virtues and vices, as we do; there is no need to overly denigrate any party. However, "we" certainly have a higher level of knowledge and intellect. We can appreciate our forefathers' real revolutions in terms of the standard at their time. We can go a bit soft on their crimes, because we came from them, and because we can certainly avoid emulating them. However, it would be wrong to import their primitive wisdom to our time. It would be wrong to apply too much of the superlative adjectives on them, because our present world has too many people who want to follow them by the book, even up to the point of hating innocent people.

Thanks for speaking the truth. I will follow your advice. I will ignore personal attacks and say whatever I believe to be right. I personally know and you me. We both are too old to be able to be awakened from our sleep. Over the years we have consolidated our mindset and conviction which seem to be almost unchangeable. Now every one in the forum knows our directions of thought. We are on two different planes and we will never meet. But we we will definitely know each other.
If you do not agree with Rabindranath you can say any thing you want to say against him as Das I'd now doing. I just wanted to explain why RN said so even though supposedly he must have not supported every thing Muhammad did in his personal life. Our mind is too little to comprehend him. We are neo intellectuals trying to use our leisure time as we have nothing else to do. We are all kind of parasites which we hardly realize.
You have read the Geeta and you have seen Bhagwan himself, not even a sage, is instigating Arjuna to kill his own cousins and other close relatives to reinstate Dharma.

Here we go again. I have a suggestion for Kamal Das, and that is – he needs to let go the thread after one rebuttal; he keeps following the thread at no end without realizing where he is heading. It seems like he is trying to wake up someone who is pretending to sleep. There is a point when you have to realize that you cannot change the mind of your opponent no matter how much information you pile up in front of him/her. That's when you stop.
By now every one of us should have an idea about the intellectual aptitudes, philosophical, political, and religious views of all regular contributors to this forum. As a result, there is no need to prove anything. Just tell what your views are on the subject. That's it. You should always expect that, based on someone's intellectual aptitude, philosophical, political, and religious views, he/she will either agree or disagree with your views. I learned this truth from my own observations.
Now, about the 'Maharishi' attribute to Muhammad by Rabindra Nath, I do not know the pretext of the attribution, and it really does not matter to me. I like to judge everything on my own. I do not know any Maharishi ever instructed his followers to kill all non-believers of his views wherever they can find them. I do not know any Maharishi who told his followers to kill all male non-believers and distribute all female non-believers to his followers as booty after capturing them. I know it was in the context of a war, but – still does not make sense to me. Therefore, it will not make an iota of difference in my judgment even if God-almighty tells me that it was the right thing to do. I know – millions will disagree with me, and that's fine with me. I do not want to change anyone's mind; I just want to express my own feelings on the subject.
I know some people draw conclusion about a subject based on views of others, and some draw conclusions to please others. I do not do so; I collect information and then pass that through my own filter(s) to draw a conclusion of my own. The bottom line is – just because some famous people mentioned about something does not make it a truth. I remember Professor Amartya Sen, a Nobel laureate, visited Bangladesh sometime in 2001, just after the election and the worst ever communal pogrom in Bangladesh. Khaleda Zia gave him a reception, and during his speech Amartya Sen said that - Bagladesh was a perfect example of communal harmony. I am sure he knew that he was lying through his teeth just to promote his NGO program in Bangladesh. I hope I made my case.

Re: [mukto-mona] Fw: Re: Bangladeshi Cricket Team Beat India

Mohiuddin (J)anwar is not a BNP gem.  He is a hardcore Jehadi, while Q. A. Rahman is a soft core one.  His sense of religiosity has reduced to the performance in the cricket match.  Being blind, he fails to notice the nonhindu members of the Indian cricket team and Allah's refusal to let Pakistan team win against them.  Allah would grant him ten extra houris in the afterlife for such allegiance to Islam.

Hello everybody,

Please see the message in the attached link below from Mr. Mohiuddin Anwar. Can you see the mindset of this precious gem from BNP? BNP should be really proud of him for his intellectual honesty and integrity.  He deserves our praise for not hiding his communality into himself.

I am not a sports fan anymore, like Mr. Mohiuddin. Therefore, I can't say who won or lost in which game. As he tells me - Bangladesh won against India and Shrilanka, which is undoubtedly a remarkable feat for Bangladesh, considering the dominance of India, Pakistan, and Shrilanka in this sport.

It sure - it feels good to celebrate any victory; it brings momentary pleasure in the mind of well-to-do people. Cricket is a rich people's sport. Little people do not have the luxury to play this sport. As a result, I did not have the opportunity to develop any appreciation for this game. I know - this pleasure will fade away very quickly, and everything will come back to reality soon. As I said before, this victory may not impact 80% people in Bangladesh, who are only thinking about where their next meal will come from, not who won in the cricket game.

I used to enjoy soccer and that was my game. Victory in that sport would give me immense pleasure in my youth. Not anymore. I am a very practical minded person now. I only long for lasting pleasure, which can only come from over all prospect of the nation. As you know, Pakistan has a very good cricket team, and, I am sure, their team has brought momentary pleasure to well-to-do people there many times already, but, did that change anything on the ground for the general people of that nation? The answer is no.

Mohiuddin Anwar has a unique ability – he can find communality in everything he can think of. He pretends to be a religious person, and he is probably proud of his God-given communal skill-set. He is overjoyed with emotion for two reasons – 1) Bangladesh cricket team won, and 2) they have defeated Indian (Malaun) team. What can be better than this!

I just wonder what will happen to his emotion when Bangladeshi team plays against Pakistani team in the final. I guess - we have to wait until then.

I am happy that India returns without going to final. But India-lovers in Bangladesh became sads after today's result.

Jitens, Subimals, Kamals aren't happy that India going home without playing the final. Bangladeshi tigers did it

again, they defeated India and Srilanka and Inshalla will defeat other cricket power of Asia Pakistan.

I am sorry for Jiten's Subimals, Guho's and Kamal's,' who might have  expected Bangladesh 's defeat today so that India can go to final.

CONGRATULATIONS TO BENGAL TIGERS.

Re: [mukto-mona] Re: Four cattle smugglers killed by BSF

A documentary was aired on the subject of cattle smuggling in one of the Bangladeshi TV channels.  It said , the smugglers steal the cattle from the grazing fields near the border and send them across the border and make a living.  They get help from the border security only when they pay a fare share of their profit.  If they deserve the attention of the human right activists, so do all other kinds of criminals like thieves, dacoits, murderers and rapists. A cattle thief is a cattle thief even if he is a great sage.

The title of the message was misleading. So, I have edited it a bit. Those boys were killed or tortured not because they were SC or Muslim; they were tortured and killed because they were smuggling cattle in the middle of the night across the India-Bangladesh border.

Now, I am not suggesting that torturing and killing of cattle smugglers is an acceptable behavior for a state paramilitary force.
