It is pathetic to note the desperation of the Moderate Islam (Muslims living in the West) to dissociate themselves from ISIS. These hypocrites are inventing strange arguments and at times blatant lies to expedite that ISIS is not Islamic. CAIR has prepared a lengthy dossier to argue against the cases of ISIS.
Strangely, ISIS gives a damn to these hypocrites. If ISIS is wrong on Islamic matters why then ISIS is not listening to these peaceful messages of Islam?
The greatest irony of all: just a few days ago UAE, an Islamic country governed by Sharia laws, has included CAIR as a terror organisation in a list of more than 80 such organisations that also includes ISIS. Now the moderates in the West are running for cover requesting uncle Sam to protect their skins.
The truth is: ISIS is pure, simple and unadulterated Islam. It preaches and enforces the Islam preached and practiced by Muhammad. ISIS is not hypocrite---it has justified each of its action by providing elaborate references from the fountains of Islam--Koran, Hadis, Sharia and Sira.
In ISIS's actions and commands we discover the golden age of Islam--that is, Muhammad's time---ISIS is time-travel--retrogressively to Muhammad's days.
Every Muslim should be proud of ISIS--
Yeah, I agree that Muharram style self-mutilation is million times better than what the Koran preaches about the self-sacrifice, that is suicide operation to kill the innocent infidels and not-so-good Muslims (9:111-112).
I think, if the sunnis also practiced the self-punishment--until death--that would be better for the world. Let them kill themselves; so that is better for the world.
So, let Muharram live on. Let the them self-flagellate to death or let them commit self immolation in great numbers in the grief of Muhammad's grandson's tragic deaths.

Yes, Muharram is nothing but a way of self-experiencing the sufferings of Prophet's grandsons at the hands of Shimar. Many of you have opined that it is not included in the Quran or Hadith. How could it go in any of those books, when Prophet was not alive at the time? So, it makes perfect sense that this ritual was not a part of the Koran.
Although, it is an extreme self-mutilation, but it is a milder form of self-sacrifice in quest of heaven compared to suicide bombing. And, this ritual is a peanut compared to the bloodbath being caused by ISIS.
Many people opined that ISIS people are mot Muslim because Koran does not permit such bloodbath. Others have shown many verses from Koran to support the argument that ISIS is exactly following the instructions of Koran. To counter the latter argument, many have opined that latter group is not using the right translation of Koran.
I was slowly leaning towards the argument that ISIS is absolutely violating Koran with such horrendous violence. They must be following wrong translation of Koran. Now, after I found that self-proclaimed Caliph Abu Bakr Al-Bagdadi has earned a Ph.D. degree in Islamic Theology from the Cairo Al Azhar University, which is the authority on Islamic Theology in the world, and his mother tongue is pure Arabic, I am not so sure that ISIS are not following the right interpretation of Koran. Any thought on this predicament?

Yeah, this mass madness and blood-curdling insane ritual has not been prescribed in the Quran.
I have not read any Sunni hadis permitting this insanity.
This ritual is done to commemorate the killing of Hazrat Husain (or may be Hasan--not sure) by Yazid. I think Hazrat Husain (or Hasan) was beheaded by the appointed executioner Shimar, who then displayed the severed head atop a pole. This was a beauty--the severed head of the prophet's grandson dangling on a pole! Muhammad must had turned around in his grave witnessing this wonderful display!
I am writing from memory. I have seen in Bangladesh many Shias still practice this barbarity though to a subdued manner.
Yeah, this is the beauty of Islam---blood, blood and more blood. Peace in Islam means blood, killing and death.

I am a little puzzled by these exchanges. In his original message SKM was focusing on the jihadi aspect of ashoura 'celebrations.' I may be wrong but I always thought that the annual blood-letting at Muharram was wholly a matter of mourning. The shia self-flagellate only to commemorate the martyrdom of their imam Husain whose death was a horribly bloody one. They mourn and mourn that death and will not stop till doomsday. Mourning is in the shia ethos. Blood is their most important part of that mourning.
Now, I do not know why this is so. It is difficult for a thinking modern man like me to understand this love of blood and blood- letting. There is a fountain in Tehran that spouts red-coloured water, I believe 24 hours a day. Such fascination with blood has no rational explanation.
Even more irrational ( if there is anything such thing !), is the blood-letting of children, mere babies. And that too in this country! The screaming little child, while the man carrying it slices its forehead, will forever remain etched in my mind. There must be a law against such cruelty. Why were the perpetrators not prosecuted, I wonder.
I do not think the blood letting in Muharram has anything to do with jihad. It is an evil symbol of sick minds.
It is ironical that another set of sick minds, the sunnis of ISIS, wishes to do away with the sickness of the shia variety.

Thanks for your comments to this "puzzling bloody-Jihad dance" of peaceful (?) Muslims. I believe the very verse (6:137) mentioned by Mr. Asghar is not related to the Muhrram's bloody dance. The verse (6:137) probably about the custom of ancient ritual of human sacrifice for pleasing God which had been a religious practice in the ancient time. This custom was known as "Noro-bali" and later, this cruel practice was replaced by the animal sacrifice stated in the old testament. That, animal sacrifice to please Allah is still practicing vigorously by the muslims by the name of 'Korbani', though, this ancient barbaric ritual of religious fanaticism had been discontinued by all other major religions because, except Islam, all religions got civilized by the times they have passed. But, Islam never grow and continued by the spirit of ancient barbarity of superstitions in big time.
Now, question remained to be answered: what is this bloody Mohrram-dance of Jihadi Muslims? I do not believe there could be any Koranic verse exists for this monkey dance of Muslims because, Allah was already in His deep sleep at the time of Karbala tragedy and and there was no verse came to PM because PM was also dead at that time. Now, who can give us the real story of Karbala massacre and whom to be blamed for killing of PM's grandson? This monkey jihadi bloody dance seems a crazy protest or jihad but against whom? Why they are dancing like some uncivilized devils? This is the answers I want to figure out. Could anybody shed some lights in this matter please?
