বিপুল খানাখাদ্যি এবং পাগলা পানি,
উজির মারার নাজির মারার অবাক বাসর
বিত্ত-বেসাত সবই খোদার মেহেরবানী...
বসত করি আম্রিকাতে পাতলু-মটু
আসছি হেথায় লিগাল কিংবা ইল্লিগালি,
কুড়িজনের ঊনিশজনেই ভীষণ পটু
বাংলাদেশকে দেবার ক্ষেত্রে খিস্তি-গালি...
আলোচনায় মিনিট পাঁচেক পরেই আসে
অভ্বিয়াসলি বাংলাদেশের প্রসঙ্গটা,
কণ্ঠে সবার দেশের প্রতি দরদ ভাসে
আর শুরু হয় গালাগালের ঘনঘটা...
শুরুটা হয় আওমী লীগের শাসন দিয়ে
মধ্যিখানে মেতে থাকি শেখ হাসিনায়।
দেশটা গেলো রসাতলে সেইটা নিয়ে
তুমুল আলাপ গড়িয়ে চলে তীব্র ঘৃণায়...
সমাপ্তিতে টার্ণ নেয় তা শেখ মুজিবে
শেখ মুজিবের শাসনকালটা কৃষ্ণ বিবর,
গালাগালের তুবড়ি ছোটে সবার জিভে
পাকিস্তানটা ভেঙেই দিলো শেখ মুজিবর...
বাংলাদেশকে গাল না দিলে ভাল্লাগে না
বাংলাদেশে আজকে কোনো মানুষ থাকে!

- Ziaur Rahman's five years eclipsed Sheikh Mujib's 35 years of politics. That is the heartburning of the Awamis, not so much for Mujib's physical death. That is the reason for their all-out wrath and hatred against Zia.
- Zia did not start indemnity, Mujib started it in 1973 by granting to the Rakkhi Bahini.
- Hasina blames BNP to originate corruption. But neither Zia nor BNP was in power in 1972-75 when 15 lakh people died for want to food. It was due corruption, not the shortage of food. Food supply was plenty.
- Learned a new element. Mujib and Anthony Marcarenhas had a personal relationship. Mujib extended 20,000 British Pounds to Anthony from the London branch of Sonali Bank. He never returned it. Then Brigadier Moinul Hussain Chowdhury, during his assignment in the Bangladesh HC, tried to recover the money under instruction from Zia. Anthony got furious and went against Zia. Arranged interview with Colonels Farook and Rashid in London in 1976, in which he tried to implicate Zia through vague reference from Farook. The interview was sponsored by Granada TV, not BBC. That interview became the "prize evidence" during the Mujib murder trial.
- Capt Majed's interview is a great discovery of the AL in implicating Zia! Yet, for the past 45 years, even during the Mujib trail, nobody ever mentioned Zia's name in the case. So far, the Awami official version was that Zia was a beneficiary of the August 15. Suddenly, Zia became party to the killing.
- Taking of the beneficiary, Pinak B thinks Sheikh Hasina is the biggest beneficiary of August 15. If there was no August 15 and if Mujid died naturally, next in line for power was Sheikh Moni or Sheikh Kamal. Hasina would have remained the housewife of Dr. Wazed.
- Quoting Col Shafaat Jamil, an Awami follower, Pinaki says Ziaur Rahman wanted to uphold the constitution and that VP should take over in absence of the President.
- According to Pinaki, in 1973, Mujib knew they would not get more than 25-30 seats in a fair election. And JI and other opposition forces will grab the power and massacre them. Mujib had to resort to widespread rigging to save the AL. Today, AL suffers from same syndrome, he says.
- Some observers point finger at CIA for August 15. If so, Pinaki says the coup leaders were expected to be CIA operatives. And, they should have been welcomed in the US for asylum. Whey then to Libya who was not a friend of the US by any stretch of imagination?

প্রধানমন্ত্রী বলেন, তার সরকার একের পর এক দুর্নীতি এবং এর সঙ্গে জড়িতদের গ্রেফতার করছে। ২০০৪ সালের ২১ আগস্ট আওয়ামী লীগের সমাবেশে বর্বর গ্রেনেড হামলার ঘটনায় জড়িত থাকার জন্য বিএনপি জামায়াত জোটকে অভিযুক্ত করে তিনি বলেন, '(সত্যিকারেই) হত্যাকাণ্ড বিএনপির অভ্যাস, তারা দেশের স্বাধীনতা এবং স্বাধীনতা যুদ্ধের চেতনায় বিশ্বাস করে না।'

১৯৭৫ সালে জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধুকে সপরিবারে হত্যার প্রসঙ্গ উল্লেখ করে আওয়ামী লীগ সভানেত্রী বলেন, বঙ্গবন্ধু হত্যার ঘটনায় খন্দকার মোশতাকের পাশাপাশি জিয়াউর রহমানও জড়িত। সেই জিয়াউর রহমানের স্ত্রী খালেদা জিয়াই ক্ষমতায় এসে ২১ আগস্টের ঘটনা ঘটান এবং তার সঙ্গে তার ছেলে তারেক রহমান যে জড়িত, তা ষড়যন্ত্রের সঙ্গে জড়িত অন্যদের কথায় বেরিয়ে এসেছে।' প্রধানমন্ত্রী ২০০৪ সালে নিহত ব্যক্তিদের প্রতি শ্রদ্ধা জানান এবং আহত যারা হয়েছেন, তাদের কথাও স্মরণ করেন। এ ছাড়া করোনাভাইরাসের এ সংক্রমণের সময়ে সবাইকে স্বাস্থ্যবিধি মেনে চলার আহ্বান জানান।
