[ALOCHONA] Moeen _ Doctrine of Necessity _ 29 Dec, 2008 Election

Dear friends,

Brut majority! Brut majority!! Brut Majority!!! How funny!!!! The Election was nothing but the plan to destroy our glorious BDR, Army, Political Parties Mainly nationalist & Islamist and hence Bangladesh.

In the language of CEC, Mr. Huda, the last election of 29th December, 2009 was nothing but a "doctrine of necessity". The black force of UN, USA, Israel, India, EU, Australia, Canada was behind that ill-plan and their ill-plan is still going on.

Few points are here how the election was biased to BAL and its Allies (Earshad had said that if Army i.e. Moeen & his associates didn't support, BAL will never come to power!!!) though the last Emergency Government was repeatedly spoken about "level playing field" to the parties for a neutral, free & fair Election :

1.   According to Mr. Moeen, UN has forced Army chief not to support the caretaker government headed by Mr. Iazuddin to hold an election on the 22nd January 2007.

2.   Army chief had forced Mr. Iazuddin to declare emergency instead of obeying the constitutional duty.

3.   The logic of those culprits was that a credible election must be hold by participation of all major parties!!!

4.   BAL had supported and claimed that the illegal 'Emergency Government (EG)' was the fruit of their andolan i.e. the barbaric killing of 28th October, 2006.

5.   From the very beginning the EG, headed by Mr. Fakhruddin, running by Moeen and ACC chief Hasan Moshhud Chow & EC Huda tried to destroy and humiliate BNP.

6.   To cover up the oppression on BNP they had taken few actions on BAL too.

7.   They had tried to break BNP by forcing few leaders of BNP.

8.   An illegal BNP was created at mid-night and CEC Huda was very glad to meet with them.

9.   BNP was not allowed to use their own Naya Paltan office, police was locked the office illegally though for BAL there was no problem.

10.             EG heart and soul tried to oust Khaleda Zia from Bangladesh.

11. Sheikh Hasina had flown from Bangladesh with consultation & secret deals with EG announcing that she will legalize everything done by the illegal Emergency Government.

12. Only few days before the election the ACC chief corrupted Hasan Moshhud Chowdhury had claimed that khaleda's younger son Koko's illegal money was found at Singapore. That was not an emergency but to bias the election he had done it. Even Barrister Rafiqul Huq had claimed for the punishment of ACC chief for this type of heinous activities.

13. When the EG & its back end illegal supporters seen that their ill-motive will going to be ruin they change their mind and told election will be held within emergency as Khaleda had declared that BNP will not participate in election within emergency.

14. Thus in this way the EG had tried to keep BNP outside or unprepared by killing time.

15. Even the EU and their collaborators shamelessly declared that for a credible election it is not necessary for participation of all the parties, changing their stand of two years ago that a credible election need to be participate all the major political parties. Shame! Shame!! Shame!!!

16. For the first time of history brother & Brother of daughter-in-law of army chief Moeen had participate in the election where everybody knows that the EG was running by the Army chief with the illegal support of outside black powers.

17. The day before the election few Army officers (loyal to Moeen) held BNP men including 6 Union Chairman in Noakhali and Barishal area and thread them illegally.

18. BNP & Allies Men was held with the centre operation costs deferent areas of Bangladesh and published those reports on electronic & print media with extra importance.

19. BNP & Allies Men was held with the leaflet carrying with Joy's write–up against Army & Islam published in the websites. On the other hands, BAL had distributed leaflets freely against BNP & Allies.

20. BAL & their collaborates freely make human chain, procession etc against BNP & Allies without any difficulties but police harassed BNP men for arranging those activities.

21. About 100 seats the vote casting were about 95% and few of them cast more than 100%.

22. EC had filed cases against those found the sealed ballot papers different areas of Bangladesh instead carrying out investigation immediately.

The above facts & findings had clearly proved that a free, fair and neutral election didn't hold at all on the 29th December, 2009.

Thank you,

Shahid Sadik

RE: [ALOCHONA] National anthem at schools (madrassahs)

Your article needs appreciation for its pragmatic views. I am also surprised at the WB report which is in contrast with the realities on the ground. As a matter of fact the idea of modernizing the madrassa education system is an uphill task in countries like Bangladesh and Pakistan. Politics in these countries is intertwined with religion out of ignorance and corrupted political gain. Even if some of them profess secularism they really does not dare to implement this in true spirit or they have very low intellectual grasp to know what secularism is. This will be a too lofty an expectation that the situation will improve soon.

Akbar Hussain

Why is the National Anthem not sung in the thousands of new madrassahs in Bangladesh?

If you think that the modern madrassahs are formulated around principles that are diametrically opposed to celebrating the beauty of our motherland, you would be right. But if you think that these new-fangled  madrassahs are the same as they were 200 years ago, and are run along the customs and beliefs of Banglar Islam, then you'd be wrong.  Grossly mistaken.

Pease read my article. You will not find another article that talks about madrassahs in Bangladesh with such a wealth of information.

While working in Rawalpindi in 1970 I was asked by a Pakistani gentleman about my identity whether I am a Muslim or Bengali first. I proudly identified myself as a Bengali then a Muslim. Naturally he was not happy and confirmed his conviction that breaking up of Pakistan was just a matter of time. This incident came back to me again in relation to the current debate on singing of the national anthem in Bangladeshi madrassas. This is a serious gap in achieving the goal of a unified nation in Bangladesh. The reluctance of the Islamic clergy to accept traditional Bengali culture as a dominant force in shaping this young and sovereign nation is a contentious issue. The madrassa education which produces a clergy class carries a diametrically opposite ideology which works against creating a unified Bengali nation. The sharia taboo against music and songs in Islam is based on ignorance. A handful of Islamic fundamentalists like the Taliban's use brute force to enforce this taboo but the vast majority of the Muslims do not share their repulsive views. As religion is always a divisive force it always tries to block progress and universal understanding. In a society like Bangladesh where modern education is yet reach every citizen this situation will continue to plague the nation. But the patriotic forces must continue the struggle.

National anthem at schools

http://www.newagebd.com/2009/jun/13/fb.html
The singing of the national anthem in madrassahs is long overdue. But the truth is no nation willingly separates its young citizens from such a young age driving them into different worlds which seldom coincide. It is our irresponsibility that has brought us to this situation. State managed seminaries, with broad consultation, can develop the religious men who will lead our congregations in prayer. But the vast majority of madrassah students should be sitting beside their fellow citizens in the classrooms of regular government schools. Many will argue about this but I have never met a successful man who studied at a madrassah and then sent his own son to a madrassah. We are tearing the soul of our country apart and we have been doing so for a long time.

[ALOCHONA] Corruption Allegation Against Army Officer with BDR & The Reality Check!

Corruption Allegation Against Army Officer with BDR & The Reality Check!

By Major Zaman (Rtd)

In the security forces, the chain of command & trust among the leaders & the led are very crucial. The Pilkhana scenario is just opposite to what is desired in the security forces. The rational of meeting the killers by passing the BDR chain of command can only be explained by the competent authority. Whether it has set a wrong precedence, we will have to wait & see. Given the UNO (executive officer) of one of the UZ's (Sub district) hostage scenario in the Chittagong Hill Tracts during Awami League's 1996-2001term, some suggested to pay the ransom. But after weighing out the consequences (recurrence of such incident – ransom), it was decided to rescue the hostage even though that demanded trans border military operations possibly.

Finally the UNO was rescued through military means!! History will judge – whether or not, absence of a military rescue operation allowed the perpetrators to kill the officers who survived the initial onslaught and flee without challenge at the same time denial of self defence to the security forces!

There were various demands & allegations in the Leaflet that was circulated preceding the tragic events of February 25, 2009 and beyond. Unfortunately the media (electronic media in particular) initially highlighted the corruption allegation of the officers without any comment /response from the officers, so virtually it turned out to be a media propaganda to mislead the people from focusing on the real cause of the carnage. Later the officers at different level gave their account on the allegation. Fortunately, I got the statistics below from a BDR presentation available with one of my friends. The statistics below clearly indicate a progressive better performance and possibly off set the corruption allegations.

[ALOCHONA] Tipaimukh dam, Fulertal barrage spell 'disaster' for Sylhet, say experts

Tipaimukh dam, Fulertal barrage spell 'disaster' for Sylhet, say experts

Dhaka, May 28 (bdnews24.com)—Farm output will fall and poverty will rise, spelling 'disaster' for the Sylhet region if India's proposed Tipaimukh dam and Fulertal barrage are built, maintain experts.

"The dam will cause water flow to slow down while the barrage will ensure their full control of water resources," former director general and chief engineer of Water Resources Planning Organisation, engineer Inamul Haque told bdnews24.com Thursday.

"The cultivation of early variety of boro in the northeast would be hampered," he said. "So far as I know the Tipaimukh dam will be built 200 kms from the Amolshid border, at Zakingong, to construct a vast water reservoir for hydro-power generation."

"The water from three rivers—the Barak, Tipai and Irang—would be required to feed the water reservoir to cover an immense area," said Inamul. "Besides, another barrage is to be built 100 kms off our border at Fulertal in India for irrigation purposes which would feed the waters through canals," Haq said.

Haq said downstream regions will experience two major impacts: firstly, with the decrease of water in December, the people who now grow early varieties of boro on the land which used to arise in the haor areas would no longer have this resource. Secondly, the water flow of the river Surma will decrease significantly, he said.

IUCN resident director Dr.Ainun Nishat told bdnews24.com that the construction of Tipaimukh dam will reduce the the natural monsoon flood patterns of the area on which cultivation depends. He said the construction of barrage at Fulertal on top of the Tipaimukh dam could seriously reduce the water flow during the dry season.

"The extent of drop in water flow depends on the volume of water withdrawn through the irrigation canals," he said. "We could see the Surma and Kushiara rivers dry up completely during the dry season, he said

Anu Muhammad, professor of economics at Jahangirnagar University, told bdnews24.com the Tipaimukh dam and Fulertal barrage would spell "a great disaster."

"Arable land will decline and production of crops fall, leading to a rise in poverty," he said.

According to some reports, the proposed Tipaimukh dam across the river Barak in the Indian state Monipur will 162.5 metres high and 390metres long to create a reservoir by permanently submerging some 2.75 square kilometers of land. India expects to generate around 1500 megawatt of hydropower from the project.

What is a cult? Fear itself? I never knew fear can be a noun to be a cult. Very interesting cult name is given by Mr. Akbar da.

Freedom is always used in an argument as a propaganda term calling for a need to fight but never heard of freedom is being as nirvana. "You have to fight for freedom" is the way the word is usually used, though not in those words. For example, the oppressors won't grant freedom voluntarily.

Isn't it nirvana a peaceful mental state due to being self-awakening or being enlightened? I heard and read that Buddha had devoted his life almost 40 years which was characterized as nirvana but what freedom has to do with nirvana?

Don't you think, charity-giving can be characterize as one form of nirvana as well? I think, Charity is better form of nirvana than bhramachari and/or lecturing others about nirvana! because words are cheap form of nirvana.

But if I am pressed to make a declaration in this regard I would say that my identity or identity of any person is based on his/her ethnicity. This narrow description widens when we know someone closely by his/her views on life, philosophical basis of thinking and overall generosity towards the diversities of life. These are independent qualifications based on the degree of freedom by a soul not influenced by narrow jurisdictions of religion which always lead us to a quagmire of conflicts. This is not the first time that I am lectured by people who are too afraid to free themselves from the shackles of religious fear to venture into the wide open horizon of life. Fear is a cult and freedom is emancipation or nirvana.
