Professor goes for a poor and wrong analogy rather than pointing out the poor quality of Bangladeshi education and its teachers. Writing on a coin or bill does not demand an answer of loyalty to Christianity..... but a 'wrong answer' in Bangladeshi admission test can seal one's fate forever. It favors certain community members unless the questioner and examiner is testing students' poor reasoning capability? Which I very much doubt given the Islamization of Bangladeshi education   The idea was to identify who belong to what religion. Alternatively, this moron wants to force people to answer the question in a certain way or lie to get the advantage of getting into the university. And that is wrong and criminal.

'CIA and Mossad created ISIS', says Julian Assange as Wikileaks releases 500k US cables

28 October 2017

WIKILEAKS founder Julian Assange today said the CIA and Mossad were responsible for paving the way for ISIS as the whistle blowing organisation released more than half a million formerly confidential US diplomatic cables dating back to 1979.

On the sixth anniversary of the first infamous "Cablegate" by WikiLeaks, when it releases its first batch of sensitive US files, on November 28 2010, it has expanded its Public Library of US Diplomacy (PLUSD) with 531,525 new diplomatic cables from 1979.

In a statement to coincide with the release of the cables, known as "Carter Cables III", Mr Assange explained how events which unfolded in 1979, had begun a series of events that led to the rise of ISIS.

He said: "If any year could be said to be the "year zero" of our modern era, 1979 is it."

Mr Assange added: "In 1979 it seemed as if the blood would never stop.

"Dozens of countries saw assassinations, coups, revolts, bombings, political kidnappings and wars of liberation."

The Carter Cables III bring WikiLeaks' total published US diplomatic cable collection to 3.3 million documents.

Thank you, Ranu Bhai. You are right, Bangladesh should hold military exercises with other countries as well.

Bangladesh has been regularly holding joint military exercises with the US.

China involves Bangladesh, along with other countries, in its military drills. Last year, the "PLA Navy fleet arrived in Chittagong for the first time in the past three decades, taking part in a joint maritime drill with Bangladesh Navy." The China-Bangladesh military cooperation has been strengthening, and China is the main military ally of Bangladesh. According to China, "a growing number of high-level exchange visits, training programmes, joint exercises, defence procurement, security cooperation such as counter-terrorism, anti-piracy, peacekeeping cooperation, and disaster management would be the future areas of cooperation." (Please see: China, Bangladesh defence relations reach 'unprecedented heights',

https://bdnews24.com/bangladesh/2016/07/28/china-bangladesh-defence-relations-reach-unprecedented-heights).

"Bangladesh signed an agreement with Turkey on military training, education and joint cooperation between forces of both nations on 10 March 1981 at Dhaka." Present relation is very good.

Military relation with Russia is also good and so is with Saudi Arabia.

To strike a balance, Bangladesh should have similar military cooperation and exercises with other neighboring countries i.e., of SAARC, as well as with China, Myanmar, Malaysia and Thailand. In fact, emphasis should be given on multilateral joint exercises with a view to avoiding domination by any country in the region.

Seventh Bangladesh-India joint military exercise next week

[The first-ever Bangladesh-India joint military exercise was held in 2011 in Sylhet and was codenamed 'Op Sampriti' to practice "counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations under the UN mandate" and troops involved were around 40 from each side. Since then the Sampriti exercises have been held every year. The fifth Sampriti exercise was held in 2015 in West Bengal. The sixth Sampriti exercise was held in 2016 in Tangail. This year it is the seventh Sampriti exercise. Please see the following report in the Times of India on the seventh Sampriti exercise:]

India, Bangladesh to kick off combat exercise in Mizoram next week
The Times of India
Rajat Pandit | TNN | Updated: Nov 3, 2017, 20:41 IST
(For picture, please click the link below)

HIGHLIGHTS
The aim behind "Exercise Sampriti", which will be conducted from November 6 to 18, is to enhance interoperability between the two armies

The two armies will also hold a joint training capsule on anti-terror operations from November 13 to December 10 at the Danapur Cantonment in Bihar

NEW DELHI: The Indian and Bangladeshi armies are all set to hold an intensive combat exercise at the Counter-Insurgency and Jungle Warfare School at Vairengte in Mizoram from next week as part of the overall policy to bolster bilateral military ties.

The aim behind "Exercise Sampriti", which will be conducted from November 6 to 18, is to enhance interoperability between the two armies while conducting counter-insurgency and counter-terrorism operations in a semi-mountainous jungle terrain.

"Sampriti will include a field training exercise at Vairengte, which will include heli-borne operations and neutralization of IEDs, and a command post exercise called Milap at the Umroi cantonment in Meghalaya," said an officer.

Interestingly, the two armies will also hold a joint training capsule on anti-terror operations from November 13 to December 10 at the Danapur Cantonment in Bihar. "The capsule's main aim will to be train junior commanders of the Bangladesh Army in effectively handling such operations," he added.

The Indian armed forces, seeking closer cooperation on the counter-terrorism front, are working towards "building capacity'' of the Bangladesh military, which ranges from training and exercises to military supplies and defence technologies. Bangladesh, of course, is another country in India's neighbourhood where China has made some strategic inroads over the last several years.

India, for instance, provides 90 vacancies for different courses in its military establishments and academies for the Bangladeshi armed forces every year. There is also a tailor-made training programme for 100 Bangladeshi soldiers at the Mechanized Infantry Regimental Centre at Ahmednagar in Maharashtra.

Moreover, the Indian Army, Navy and IAF hold regular staff-level talks with their Bangladeshi counterparts. India, for instance, has been holding direct Army-to-Army staff talks with Bangladesh since 2009 to chalk out the cooperation between the two forces in the years ahead.
TOP COMMENT

The importance of the talks can be gauged from the fact that India has similar staff talks with just a handful of countries, which include US, UK, Israel, France, Japan, Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore.

Similarly, the bilateral naval cooperation has been traditionally strong, encompassing a wide span to include operational interactions through training, port calls, passage exercises along with "capability building and capacity augmentation initiatives". The Bangladeshi Navy is also the present chair of the Indian Ocean Symposium (IONS), which is a multilateral maritime cooperation platform launched by the Indian Navy.

If news is true, it only shows ISIS supporters are brain-dead robots, who can be coerced by foreign intelligent agencies to commit heinous crimes against humanity. This news do not exonerate ISIS crimes, even if they were created by CIA and Mossad, if you are seeking that impression.

Re: [mukto-mona] Shouldn’t Rajshahi University be sued for discrimination against non-Muslim students?

"Had Gandhi not used Ramrajya to achieve political gains, hindutwavadis couldn't make any headway in India."

I do not agree with this above statement. Gandhi was only a player during that period. And, that is all...he was! Had he not been there, others would taken the fight to the finish line with a different slogan. Hindutwa-badis would not have just vanished to the background because a different man had taken the mantle. They were always a sleeping giant looking for their time and limelight. This is just another hypothesis based on ifs, buts and whats.

Thank you, Mr. Deeldar. Dr. Das probably just wanted to make an argument that the USA also prefers religion by keeping mottoes like 'In God We Trust' on its coins. His argument obviously was very weak when he compared that with the substantive discrimination against non-Muslim students that the Rajshahi University admission test question caused. This kind of poor comparisons are generally made by the religious apologists. So, it was indeed very disappointing to see it from Dr. Das.
