Needless to say that you are factually wrong about Iran starting the Iraq Iran war. Saddam started it but could not get out of it with any honor.Please get right information before you pass your opinion about Iran.

FYI, Iran does not follow Gandhi doctrine. Yes, Iran has said many outrageous things about Israel but they have not done anything yet. That is the difference. I say, Pakistanis have said even worse things about India and doing bad things. What makes you think that Pakis would not drop few bombs if they get desperate? Many nuclear powers have said many outrageous things about wiping out others but nothing has happened so far. And, you are concerned about Israeli lives? Because Israelis are special people of the world? Israel got plenty of bombs while Iran has not tested its first one yet. You think, Israel was born yesterday? Why would you be so concerned about only Israel's safety when it has the capability of destroying whole Middle-east in few minutes? It sounds very comical and redundant to me.

Iran is a Shia power and it should have its own bombs so that it does not get bullied by its neighbors. Ironically, bombs give parity! If Israelis feel little anxious about Iran, that comes with the territory.

Iran usually prefers to engage in fight through proxy groups, such as, Hezbollah, Hamas, and other guerrilla militant groups around the world. If Iran acquires nuclear weapon, it could be transferred to any of these terrorist groups.
North Korea has not attacked any country either, but, it's still a grave threat to its neighbors and the USA.
You said, Iran needs nuclear power to protect itself from Sunni neighbors. I see no basis of such claim. I, on the other hand, see a grave threat to Saudi Arabia, if Iran somehow manage to become a nuclear power.
Also, I see a tremendous threat to Israel from Iranian nuclear attacks, since Iran has been threatening to wipe out Israel every day. How will you assure Israel that it has nothing to worry about Iran?

Yes, Iran has not been a saint since its Islamic revolution but I dare to say, Iran could have been a different story if US has had handled it differently since Shah and Mossadek time. The Shia-Sunni fight is not a new phenomenon and it started since Muhammed's death. And, Arabs taking over the fire worshipers forcibly, the divide became more pronounced and visible over the years. Persians were culturally different but that was not allowed in Islam as we see that Islam means a total business. A total submission to the Arab culture and its supremacy was the only way! The trend of religious culture has spread like a fire to please Allah and his messenger.  Even Indian subcontinent and far East were not spared.

Hizbollah is Arab/Shia based group and they are being patronized by Iran as to hedge against the Sunni dominance. If Hizbollah was not there in Lebanon and Syria, the whole region would have been under ISIS control right after Iraq war. Honestly speaking, I am more scared of a Pakistani bomb being gone off in Israel than a Persian bomb passed to Hizbollah people. Iran did not attack any country as far history tells me? If it wants a bomb to hedge against the Sunni, Saudis, can you blame them? Would Iran become a suicidal country when it knows it can be perished in minutes? I do not think so.

Deeldar, yes, Saudi has funded/bribed terrorists to keep their kingdom safe in the past, but, we need to analyze the situation with proper context at hand.  The Frankenstein Saudis have created are now coming after them. Also, another eternal enemy, Iran, is knocking at Saudi door step.
Iran is a terrorist nation. It has created Hezbullah and Hamaz militant groups, and sponsored Muslim Brotherhood movement.
If Iran becomes nuclear power, you can bet that, America, Israel, and Saudis will be on the receiving line of the nuclear attacks. Many might say, they won't choose mutual destruction, but they must remember, Iranians are ready for mutual destruction for awaiting eternal pleasure.  So, no one should bet on the assertion that Iran will not go for mutual destruction.
For that reason, Iran is much more dangerous now than Saudis. Saudis, as you know, are willing to reverse the course, but Iran is moving ahead of the path of destruction.  Trump is now trying to avail this opportunity with Saudis to corner Iran. That's all.

Needless to say that Trump has become a poodle of his own American presidential chair. He said things to get voters' attention but once he entered the White house, he is not the same man that he used to be just six months ago.  Saudi means money, darkness and Sunni power with covert and overt terrorism, period! But who cares as long as Saudis buy the American weapons and services to protect the holy Kaba. Why is this man barking on Iran when Saudis are the real perpetrators of all world's evils? An interesting talk by the MD of Daimler Benz a bit mind blowing really. 



An interesting  concept of what could lay ahead. .

In a recent interview the MD of Daimler Benz (Mercedes Benz) said their competitors are no longer other car companies but Tesla (obvious), Google, Apple, Amazon 'et al' are……  There have always been the 3 constants ...    Death, Taxes and CHANGE!

Software will disrupt most traditional industries in the next 5-10 years.   

Uber is just a software tool, they don't own any cars, and are now the biggest taxi company in the world

Airbnb is now the biggest hotel company in the world, although they don't own any properties.   

Artificial Intelligence: Computers become exponentially better in understanding the world. This year, a computer beat the best Go player in the world,  10 years earlier than expected. 

In the US, young lawyers already don't get jobs. Because of IBM Watson, you can get legal advice (so far for more or less basic stuff) within seconds, with 90% accuracy compared with 70% accuracy when done by humans. 

So if you study law, stop immediately. There will be 90% less lawyers in the future, only specialists will remain.  

Watson already helps nurses diagnosing cancer, 4 times more accurate than human nurses. Facebook now has a pattern recognition software that can recognize faces better than humans. In 2030, computers will become more intelligent than humans. 

Autonomous cars: In 2018 the first self driving cars will appear for the public. Around 2020, the complete industry will start to be disrupted. You  don't want to own a car anymore. You will call a car with your phone, it will show up at your location and drive you to your destination. You will not need to park it, you only pay for the driven distance and can be productive while driving. Our kids will  never get a driver's licence and will never own a car. 

It will change the cities, because we will need 90-95% less cars for that. We can transform former parking spaces into parks. 1.2 million people die  each year in car accidents worldwide. We now have one accident every 60,000 miles (100,000 km), with autonomous driving that will drop to one accident in 6 million miles (10 million km). That will save a million lives each year. 

Most car companies will probably become bankrupt. Traditional car companies try the evolutionary approach and just build a better car, while tech companies (Tesla, Apple, Google) will do the revolutionary approach and build a computer on wheels. 

Many engineers from Volkswagen and Audi; are completely terrified of Tesla. 

Insurance companies will have massive trouble because without accidents, the insurance will become 100x cheaper. Their car insurance business model  will disappear. 

Real estate will change. Because if you can work while you commute, people will move further away to live in a more beautiful neighborhood.

Electric cars will become mainstream about 2020. Cities will be less noisy because all new cars will run on electricity. Electricity will become incredibly cheap and clean: Solar production has been on an exponential curve for 30 years, but you can now see the burgeoning impact.  

Last year, more solar energy was installed worldwide than fossil. Energy companies are desperately trying to limit access to the grid to prevent competition from home solar installations, but that can't last. Technology will take care of that strategy. 

With cheap electricity comes cheap and abundant water. Desalination of salt water now only needs 2kWh per cubic meter (@ 0.25 cents). We don't have  scarce water in most places, we only have scarce drinking water. Imagine what will be possible if anyone can have as much clean water as he wants, for nearly no cost.   

Health:    The Tricorder X price will be announced this year. There are companies who will build a medical device (called the "Tricorder" from Star Trek)  that works with your phone, which takes your retina scan, your blood sample and you breath into it.

It then analyses 54 biomarkers that will identify nearly any disease. It will be cheap, so in a few years everyone on this planet will have access to world class medical analysis, nearly for free. Goodbye, medical establishment. 

3D printing: The price of the cheapest 3D printer came down from $18,000 to $400 within 10 years. In the same time, it became 100 times faster. All  major shoe companies have already started 3D printing shoes.

Some spare airplane parts are already 3D printed in remote airports. The space station now has a printer that eliminates the need for the large amount of spare parts they used to have in the past. 

At the end of this year, new smart phones will have 3D scanning possibilities.    You can then 3D scan your feet and print your perfect shoe at home.   

In China, they already 3D printed and built a complete 6-storey office building.    By 2027, 10% of everything that's being produced will be 3D printed. 

Business opportunities: If you think of a niche you want to go in, ask yourself: "in the future, do you think we will have that?" and if the answer  is yes, how can you make that happen sooner?

If it doesn't work with your phone, forget the idea. And any idea designed for success in the 20th century is doomed to failure in the 21st century. 

Work:  70-80% of jobs will disappear in the next 20 years. There will be a lot of new jobs, but it is not clear if there will be enough new jobs in such a small time. 

Agriculture:   There will be a $100 agricultural robot in the future. Farmers in 3rd world countries can then become managers of their field instead of working all day on their fields. 

Aeroponics will need much less water. The first Petri dish produced veal, is now available and will be cheaper than cow produced veal in 2018. Right now, 30% of all agricultural surfaces is used for cows. Imagine if we don't need that space anymore. There are several startups who will bring insect protein to the market shortly. It contains more protein than meat. It will be labelled as "alternative protein source" (because most people still reject the idea of eating insects). 

There is an app called "moodies" which can already tell in which mood you're in.  By 2020 there will be apps that can tell by your facial expressions, if you are lying. Imagine a political debate where it's being displayed when they're telling the truth and when they're not. 

Bitcoin may even become the default reserve currency ... Of the world! 

Longevity:  Right now, the average life span increases by 3 months per year. Four years ago, the life span used to be 79 years, now it's 80 years. The increase itself is increasing and by 2036, there will be more than one year increase per year. So we all might live for a long long time, probably way more than 100.

Education:  The cheapest smart phones are already at $10 in Africa and Asia. By 2020, 70% of all humans will own a smart phone. That means, everyone  has the same access to world class education. 

Every child can use Khan academy for everything a child needs to learn at school in First World countries. There have already been releases of software in Indonesia and soon there will be releases in Arabic, Suaheli and Chinese this summer. I can see enormous potential if we give the English app for free, so that children in Africa and everywhere else can become fluent in English and that could happen within half a year.

Why Indian government doesn't return Muslims Property in India? In West Bengal my sister still fighting with Indian government for my parents 100 acre of land, my uncles still fighting in the court for 400 acres of land. If Indian government doesn't return Muslims Property by CPM government, why Hindus in Bangladesh get their's back which they sold or exchanged? That law should be invalid.

ডাঃ দীপুমণি বিদেশমন্ত্রী হয়ে প্রথমবার ২০০৯ সালে নিউইয়র্ক এলে 'সংখ্যালঘু সমস্যা নিয়ে আমরা তার সাথে বসেছিলাম। আলোচনায় শত্রূ (অর্পিত) সম্পত্তি আইন প্রসঙ্গ এলে তিনি বলেছিলেন, '৪৪ বছর হয়ে গেছে?' আমরা বলেছিলাম ১৯৬৫ সাল থেকে ২০০৯ দীর্ঘ ৪৪ বছর বাংলাদেশে সংখ্যালঘু বিশেষত: হিন্দুরা এই আইনের যাতনায় ভুগছে। এটা ২০১৭, এই কালো আইনের যাতনা কিছুই কমেনি। বর্তমান সরকার আইনটি নিয়ে কিছু করার চেষ্টা করছেন। একবার বাতিল, আবার সংশোধন চলছে তো চলছেই। কিন্তু কাজের কাজ এখনো কিছু হয়নি। কোন হিন্দু তার সম্পত্তি ফিরে পেয়েছেন বা ক্ষতিপূরণ পেয়েছেন, এমন কথা শুনিনি। স্বভাবত: প্রশ্ন উঠছে, সবকিছু 'আই ওয়াশ' নয়তো? বাহান্ন বছর ধরে এই আইন নিয়ে বারবার নাড়াচাড়া হয়েছে এবং প্রতিবারই এর শিকার হয়েছে হিন্দুরা।  

স্বাধীন বাংলাদেশের প্রথম সরকারের অঙ্গীকার ছিলো, পাকিস্তান আমলের সকল কালাকানুন বাতিল হবে। রহস্যময় কারণে এই কালো আইনটি বাতিল হয়নি। বরং 'শত্রূ সম্পত্তি আইন নাম পাল্টে 'অর্পিত সম্পত্তি হয়ে যায়। বাংলাদেশে কেউ বলেন না যে আইনটি ভালো, কিন্তু এটি এতকাল কেন জাতির ঘাড়ে চেপে থাকলো এ প্রশ্নের কোন সদুত্তর কারো কাছে নেই! শত্রূ বা অর্পিত সম্পত্তি যে নামেই ডাকা হোক না কেন এটি সংখ্যালঘুদের ওপর নির্যাতনের জন্যেই প্রণীত বা আজো বহাল তা দিবালোকের মত সত্য।  বাংলাদেশে প্রায় সকল হিন্দু পরিবার কোন না কোনভাবে এই আইনের বদৌলতে ক্ষতিগ্রস্থ। আর এই আইন কত সম্পত্তি হিন্দুর কাছে থেকে কেঁড়ে নিয়েছে এই হিসাব অধ্যাপক ডঃ আবুল বারাকাত তার বইয়ে খুব ভালোভাবেই দিয়েছেন।  

এই আইন বাংলাদেশ সংবিধানের আর্টিক্যাল ১১/ গণতন্ত্র ও মানবাধিকার; আর্টিক্যাল ১৩/ প্রিন্সিপাল অফ ওনারশীপ; আর্টিক্যাল ২৭/ আইনের চোখে সমতা এবং আর্টিক্যাল ২৮/ ধর্ম, বর্ণ ও জাতিগত ভিত্তিতে বৈষম্য ইত্যাদি নীতিমালার পরিপন্থী এবং সাংঘর্ষিক। দেড় দশক আগেকার মার্কিন ষ্টেট ডিপার্টমেন্টের এক হিসাব অনুযায়ী বাংলাদেশ সরকার এই আইনের ভিত্তিতে প্রায় ৩মিলিয়ন (৩০লক্ষ্) একর হিন্দু সম্পত্তি অধিগ্রহণ করেছে। একদা দক্ষিণ আফ্রিকার বর্ণ বিদ্বেষ সর্বত্র ঘৃণিত ছিলো। সেখানে কালোরা শুধুমাত্র গাত্রবর্ণের জন্যে সম্পত্তি হারাতো। শত্রূ সম্পত্তি আইনটি 'ধর্মবিদ্ধেষ থেকে প্রসূত। বাংলাদেশে হিন্দুরা শুধুমাত্র ধর্মের কারণে সম্পত্তি হারিয়েছে বা হারাচ্ছে। দক্ষিণ আফ্রিকার বর্ণ বিদ্ধেষ আর বাংলাদেশের ধর্মবিদ্বেষ কি খুব পৃথক? জাতির ললাটে এই আইন রেখে আমরা নিজেদের 'সভ্য' দাবি করতে পারি?    

জাতির জন্যে এই আইন একটি অভিশাপ। এ থেকে মুক্তি দরকার। ২০০৯ সালের ৫ সেপ্টেম্বর ঢাকার দৈনিক সংবাদ এক সম্পাদকীয়তে বলেছিলো, সংস্কার নয়, শত্রূ সম্পত্তি আইনটি বাতিল করুন। পত্রিকাটি যুক্তি দিয়ে বলেছিলো, সরকারের প্রতিশ্রুতিতে আমরা সন্দিহান। সরকারের উচিত আইনটি পুরোপুরি বাতিল করা। পত্রিকাটি বলেছে, এটি হলে ভুক্তভুগীরা হয়রানি ও বঞ্চনা থেকে মুক্তি পাবে। বর্তমান সরকার এখন 'ভিশন ২০২১' বাস্তবায়নে এগিয়ে যাচ্ছে। ২০২১-এ ৫০ বছর বয়সে বাংলাদেশ ডিজিটাল জাতিতে পরিণত হবে। প্রশ্ন হলো বাংলাদেশের অগ্রগতির সাথে সাথে এর সংখ্যালঘু গোষ্ঠীর অগ্রগতি ঘটবে তো? শত্রূ সম্পত্তি আইন থাকলে আশা নেই। সরকার যাই করুন, কোন না কোন ফর্মে আইনটি এখনো আছে। ডিজিটাল বাংলাদেশের সাথে এই আইন কি সামঞ্জস্যপূর্ণ?   

১৯৬৫: পাকিস্তান সরকার এক নির্বাহী আদেশে "শত্রূ সম্পত্তি (কাষ্টডি এন্ড রেগুলেশন) অর্ডার ২ অফ ১৯৬৫" জারী করে। জরুরী অবস্থাকালে 'পাকিস্তান ডিফেন্স রুলাস' -এর আওতায় ৯ই সেপ্টেম্বর ১৯৬৫ এটি জারী হয়। ১৯৬৮ সালে পাকিস্তান সুপ্রিম কোর্ট আইনটিকে রাজনৈতিক উদ্দেশ্য প্রনোদিত আখ্যায়িত করে সরকারের কাছে ব্যাখ্যা চায় <২১ ডিএলআর (এসসি) পৃষ্টা ২০>। ১৯৬৯ সালে পাকিস্তান থেকে জরুরী অবস্থা উঠে যায়, কিন্তু শত্রূ সম্পত্তি আইনটি উঠেনা। বরং পাকিস্তান সরকার নুতন অর্ডিন্যান্স  (অর্ডিন্যান্স ১ অফ ১৯৬৯) জারী করে শত্রূ সম্পত্তি আইনটি জিইয়ে রাখে। আইয়ুব খান এ সময় ইয়াহিয়া খানের কাছে ক্ষমতা হস্তান্তর করেন। ২৫শে মার্চ ১৯৬৯ ইয়াহিয়া খান সামরিক শাসন জারী করেন। ১লা এপ্রিল সংবিধান বাতিল হয়। সংবিধান বাতিল হবার পরও শত্রূ সম্পত্তি আইনের ধারাবাহিকতা বজায় রাখতে একটি নুতন অর্ডিন্যান্স জারী হয় এবং সেটি বলবৎ করা হয় ২৫শে মার্চ ১৯৬৯ থেকে।   

১৯৭১ সালের ২৬শে মার্চ বাংলাদেশের স্বাধীনতা ঘোষিত হয়। ১০ এপ্রিল ১৯৭১ মুজিবনগরে অস্থায়ী সরকার গঠিত হয়। একই দিন "লজ অফ কন্টিন্যুয়েন্স এনফোর্সমেন্ট অর্ডার ১৯৭১" জারী হয়। ফলে পাকিস্তানের সকল আইন সদ্য ভূমিষ্ট বাংলাদেশেও বহাল থাকলো।  অর্থাৎ অর্ডিন্যান্স ১ অফ ১৯৬৯ বা শত্রূ সম্পত্তি আইনটি থেকে গেলো। ১৯৭২ সালের ২৬শে মার্চ বাংলাদেশ সরকার শত্রূ সম্পত্তি নাম পাল্টে "ভেস্টিং অফ প্রপার্টি এন্ড এসেট অর্ডার ১৯৭২" (নির্দেশ ২৯, ১৯৭২) রাখে। ১৯৭৪ সালের ২৩শে মার্চ সরকার অর্ডিন্যান্স ১ অফ ১৯৬৯ এবং এতদসংক্রান্ত ধারাগুলো বাতিল করে এবং একই সাথে "অর্পিত ও অনাবাসী সম্পত্তি (প্রশাসন) এক্ট (এক্ট ৪৭, ১৯৭৪) চালু করে। সেই থেকে এটি শত্রূ (অর্পিত) সম্পত্তি নামে সমধিক পরিচিতি লাভ করে।  

১৯৭৫ সাল পর্যন্ত এই আইনের ভয়াবহতা তেমন টের পাওয়া যায়নি। কিন্তু ১৯৭৫ সালে সরকার এক্ট ৪৭, ১৯৭৪ বাতিল করে নুতন অর্ডিন্যান্স ৯২ অফ ১৯৭৬ (পরে ৯৩ অফ ১৯৭৬) জারী করেন। শত্রূ সম্পত্তি নামক আইনের চরম আঘাতটি নেমে আসে জিয়াউর রহমানের হাত দিয়ে। তার অর্ডিন্যান্সের বদৌলতে একজন তহশিলদার যেকোন সম্পত্তি 'শত্রূ সম্পত্তি' ঘোষণার ক্ষমতা পান এবং সেই সম্পত্তির মূল্যের ওপর একটি কমিশন পান। তহশিলদারগন এই সুযোগ কাজে লাগিয়ে হিন্দু নাম দেখে দেখে হিন্দুদের বাড়ীঘর শত্রূ সম্পত্তি তালিকাভুক্ত করেন। আর একবার কারো সম্পত্তি শত্রূ সম্পত্তি হলে তা থেকে বেরিয়ে আসা ছিলো দু:সাধ্য কাজ। ওটা সম্ভব ছিলো শুধুমাত্র আদালত ও সচিবালয়ে মামলা করে, যা সাধারণ হিন্দুদের পক্ষে ছিলো অসম্ভব। এদিকে 'লীজের' বিধান থাকায় প্রভাবশালী মুসলমান শত্রূ সম্পত্তি লিজ নিয়ে হিন্দুদের বাড়ীঘর থেকে উচ্ছেদ করে। 

এমন অসংখ্য ঘটনা আছে যে, একজন মুসলমান হয়তো কোন হিন্দু বাড়ীর একটি অংশ লিজ নিয়েছেন, কিন্তু শক্তি প্রয়োগ করে তিনি পুরো বাড়িটিই দখল করেন। ১৯৭৭-১৯৯০ জিয়ার পর জেনারেল এরশাদের আগমন। হিন্দু বাড়ীঘর দখলের মহোৎসব চলতেই থাকে। একই সাথে এনিয়ে দুর্নীতি রন্ধ্রে রন্ধ্রে ছড়িয়ে পড়লো।  একসময় এরশাদ নির্দেশ দিলেন যে 'আর কোন সম্পত্তি নুতন করে শত্রূ সম্পত্তি করা যাবেনা'। ফল হলো উল্টো। ব্যাক ডেটে হিন্দু সম্পত্তি শত্রূ সম্পত্তি হতেই থাকলো। জিয়া-এরশাদ, এই দুই সামরিক শাসকের আমলে সম্পত্তি হারিয়ে বহু হিন্দু দেশত্যাগ করতে বাধ্য হয়। ১৯৯১ সালে বিএনপি নির্বাচনে জয়ী হয়ে ক্ষমতায় আসে, কিন্তু এই আইনের ওপর হাত দেয়না। ১৯৯৬ সালে আওয়ামী লীগ ক্ষমতায় এসে প্রায় পাঁচ বছর সময় নেয় কিছু একটা করতে। ১১ এপ্রিল ২০০১ পার্লামেন্টে "রেস্টোরেশন অফ ভেষ্টেড প্রপার্টি এক্ট ২০০১" (এক্ট ১৬, ২০০১) পাশ করে। এতে হিন্দুদের মনে কিছুটা আশার সঞ্চার হয়। 

কিন্তু ২০০১-র অক্টবরে নির্বাচনে বিএনপি-জামাত ক্ষমতায় আসে। ২০০২ সালের ২৬ নভেম্বর পার্লামেন্টে "রেস্টোরেশন অফ ভেষ্টেড প্রপার্টি এক্ট ২০০২" পাশ হয়। এরফলে আওয়ামী লীগের আমলে পাশকৃত আইনটি মূলত: শিঁকেয় তুলে রাখা হয়। এরফলে সকল শত্রূ বা অর্পিত সম্পত্তি ডেপুটি কমিশনারের অধীনে চলে আসে এবং বরাবরের মত তিনি সেটি লিজ দেয়ার ক্ষমতা পান। শত্রূ সম্পত্তি আইনের অত্যাচার অব্যাহত থাকে। ২০০৯-এ আওয়ামী লীগ পুনরায় ক্ষমতাসীন হয়। এই আইনটি নিয়ে তারা কিছু করার প্রয়াস পান। ২০১১ থেকে ২০১৩ পর্যন্ত অনেক দৌড়াদৌড়ি করে "অর্পিত সম্পত্তি প্রতর্পন (দ্বিতীয় সংশোধন) আইন ২০১৩ পাশ করে এবং এটি গেজেট আকারে প্রকাশিত হয় ১০ই অক্টবর ২০১৩ (২০১৩ সালের ৪৬ নং আইন)। এর  আগে পরে বেশ কটি সংশোধন এসেছে। কিন্তু এখন পর্যন্ত সকলই 'গড়ল ভেল'। প্রশ্ন হলো, ৫২ বছর তো হলো, আর কত? এই জঞ্জাল কবে শেষ হবে?

কেস: লেফটেনেন্ট কর্নেল যায়ীদ অপহরন ও গুম!


লেঃ কর্নেল আবদুল্লাহ্ আলী যায়ীদ, বীর, পিএসসি, এমএ, এমডিএস, এমবিএ ঢাবি। ১০ম বিএমএ লং কোর্সের পদাতিক বাহিনীর অফিসার। যিনি ছিলেন একাধারে কমান্ডো এবং প্যারাট্রুপার। দেশের একমাত্র এলিট ফোর্স ১ প্যারা কমান্ডো ব্যাটালিয়নের জন্মলগ্ন হতেই জড়িত ছিলেন এই দুর্ধর্ষ অফিসার। আজকের অনেক সিনিয়র কমান্ডোরা প্রায় সবাই উনার ছাত্র ছিলেন।

২০১১ সালে লেঃ কর্নেল যায়েদ ময়মনসিংহ সেনানিবাসে ARTDOC হেডকোয়ার্টারে GSO-1 (strategic) হিসাবে কর্মরত ছিলেন। জুলাই মাসের প্রথম ১০ দিন তিনি সাময়িক ছুটিতে ছিলেন ঢাকা সেনানিবাসে। ১০ই জুলাই রাতে ঢাকা সেনানিবাসের এএফএমআই মসজিদ হতে মাগরিব নামায পড়ে বের হওয়ার কিছুক্ষণ পরে ৩/৪ জন সশস্ত্র বেসামরিক পোশাকধারী সদস্য অস্ত্রের মুখে জোরপূর্বক অপহরন করে কর্নেল যায়ীদকে। পরে জানতে জানা যায়, অপহরনকারীদের মধ্যে ছিল মেজর আবুজার (বর্তমানে লেঃকঃ) এবং মেজর আলম। সেখানে থেকে গাড়িতে তুলে কর্নেল যায়ীদকে বিভিন্ন অজ্ঞাত স্থানে নিয়ে আটকে রাখা হয় দিনের পর দিন, চরম নির্যাতন করা হয়, স্বীকারোক্তি দেয়ার জন্য নানাবিধ চাপ ও অত্যাচার চলতে থাকে। ৫০ দিন নিখোঁজ রাখার পরে তার স্ত্রীকে তার অবস্খান সম্পর্কে প্রথম জানানো হয়।

সেনাবাহিনীতে যায়ীদ ছিলেন অসম্ভব ধরনের সাহসী এবং বুদ্ধিদীপ্ত অফিসার, যিনি পার্তব্য চট্টগ্রামে শান্তিবাহিনীর কাছে ছিলেন যমের মত। ৮৫-৮৬ সালে রাঙামাটির মারিশ্যা জোনের ক্যারেঙ্গাতলায় লেঃ জেড নামে শান্তিবাহিনীর মনে ছোবল ধরে বসেছিলেন যায়ীদ, ঐ সময় শান্তিবাহিনী তার মাথার দাম ঘোষণা করেছিল ১ লাখ টাকা। ভয়াবহ শান্তিবাহিনী শাসিত এলাকাতে যায়েদী একজন মহাজনের ছদ্মবেশে রাতের পর রাত একাকী বাজারের ব্যাগে মাত্র একটা সাব-মেশিনগান নিয়ে উপজাতিদের পাড়া চষে বেড়াতেন। ১৯৯১ সাল থেকে রাঙামাটি রিজিয়নের বরকল জোনের সাব-জোন কমান্ডার হিসাবে 'নিজের লাশেরও দাবী নেই' মর্মে লিখিত দিয়ে শান্তিবাহিনী দমনে বেশ কয়েকটা ক্রস বর্ডার অপারেশনের নেতৃত্ব দিয়েছিলেন যায়ীদ, যার জন্য তখনকার ব্যাটালিয়নের অধিনায়ক ইকবাল করিম ভূইয়া (পরে সেনা প্রধান) লিখেছিলেন, "মেজর যায়ীদ একজন দুর্ধর্ষ অফিসার, যিনি পার্বত্য চট্টগ্রামে ক্রস বর্ডারসহ যেকোন ধরণের অপারেশনের জন্য এক নম্বর বাছাইকৃত অফিসার।"

যায়ীদকে অপহরনের পরের দিন ১১ জুলাই তারিখে ১ জন মহিলাসহ ৩ জন পুরুষ বেসামরিক পোষাকে তার সেনানিবাসের বাসায় ঢুকে সন্ত্রাসী কায়দায় ডাকাতি করে প্রায় সব কিছুই লুট করে নিয়ে যায়। ঐ বাসা হতে কয়েক লক্ষাধিক টাকার দামী দামী মালামালসহ সকল ধরনের সার্টিফিকেটগুলোও নিয়ে যায়, যা অদ্যাবধি ফেরত দেয়া হয়নি। জানা যায়, এই লুটপাটের নেতৃত্বে ছিলেন একজন মহিলা মেজর আফরিন (৪৮ বিএমএ লং কোর্স)।

পরবর্তী ১০ মাস নির্মম ও অমানবিক অত্যাচার চলে যায়ীদের ওপর, যা একাত্তরের পাক হানাদার বাহিনীর ভয়াবহতাকেও হার মানায়। যায়ীদকে নিয়ে গাজীপুরের গহীন জঙ্গল থেকে শুরু করে রাতের পর রাত অবস্থান পরিবর্তন করা হতো। ২৪ ঘন্টাই তার চোখ-হাত-পা বেধে একটা বস্তায় ভরে ফেলে রাখা হতো। সারাদিনে মাত্র ২ বার চোখ বাধা অবস্হায় বাথরুমে যাওয়ার সুযোগ দেয়া হতো। দিনে ২ বার খাবার দেয়া হতো চোখ-হাত-পা বাধা অবস্হায়। প্রায় প্রতি রাতে জিজ্ঞাসাবাদের জন্য বস্তায় ভরে নিয়ে যাওয়া হতো নির্জন কোন স্থানে--রাতভর চলতো অমানবিক শারীরিক নির্যাতন, সারা শরীরে ইলেক্ট্রিক শক্, গোপনাঙ্গে ইলেট্রিক শক্, হাত-পায়ের নখে সুই ঢুকানো, লাথি-ঘুষি-প্রহার ইত্যাদি সবই চলতো। এর ফলে তার চোখেও সমস্যা দেখা দেয়। এমনকি ২০/২৫ বার নিয়ে যাওয়া হয়েছিল ক্রস ফায়ারের স্পটে, এ মুহুর্তই জীবনের শেষক্ষণ বলে প্রস্তুত করা হতো একটা বুলেটের ব্যালেষ্টিক গতি নীরিক্ষার জন্য! না, শেষ পর্যন্ত যায়েদীকে হত্যা করা হয়নি।

১০ই জুলাই ২০১১ থেকে ৩৭ দিন পরিবার ও স্বজনরা জানতে পারেনি যায়ীদ কোথায় আছে বা অদৌ বেঁচে আছে কি না। যায়ীদের ছোট ভাই সামরিক কর্তাদের দ্বারে দ্বারে ঘুরেছেন--একটা সংবাদের আশায়। কিন্তু কেউ কোনও খবর দেয়নি। স্বজনরা এসময় তার লাশ খুঁজে বেড়াত, কোথাও কোনো মৃতদেহের খবর পেলেই ছুটে যেতো! নানা অত্যাচার নির্যাতন করেও যখন জিজ্ঞাসাবাদকারীরা যায়ীদের কাছ থেকে তাদের চাহিদামত স্বীকারোক্তি পায়নি, তখন হুমকি দিলো- তাদের কথামত জবানবন্দী না দিলে যায়ীদের ১০ বছর বয়সী শিশু মেয়েকে এনে চোখের সামনে ধর্ষণ করবে!! কারণ, তারা একাজ করে একাধিক অফিসারের জবানবন্দী নিয়েছে এবং এরা এব্যাপারে অভিজ্ঞ। এসকল জিজ্ঞাসাবাদকালে সাথে অংশ নিত বেশ কয়েকজন ভারতীয় গোয়েন্দা কর্তকর্তা।

৩৭ দিন পর পরিচালক মিলিটারী অপারেশন্স (DMI) ব্রিগেডিয়ার জেনারেল রিদওয়ান ও আর্মি সিকিউরিটি ইউনিটের সিও লেঃ কর্নেল হামিদের দয়া হলো। যায়ীদকে জানায়, আন্ধা যমপুরী বের করে উন্নত কোন অবস্থানে নিয়ে যাওয়া হবে। বাস্তবে এরপর শুরু হলো নির্যাতন-অত্যাচার ও অবিচারের নির্মমতার ২য় ধাপ। বন্দী যায়ীদের হাত-পা-চোখ আরো শক্ত করে বেঁধে উঁচু একটা গাড়ির একটা সীটের সাথে বেধে ফেলা হলো। গাড়ি চলতে থাকে, অনেক পরে হঠাৎ করে গাড়ীটা কঠিন ব্রেক করে দাড়িয়ে যায়, সাথে সাথে ৩/৪টা লোক গাড়ী থেকে নামিয়ে ঐ বাধা অবস্হায় লাথি মেরে লাশের মতো গড়িয়ে পাকা রাস্তার উপর ফেলে দিয়ে দ্রুত চলে যায়। তাহলে এতদিন পর বুঝি মুক্তি মিললো যায়ীদের! কিন্তু না, চোখ খুলেই দেখতে পেলো ইএমই লেঃ কর্নেল নাছিরের বাহিনী ঘিরে আছে। নাসির বলছে, 'কি চিনতে পারছ যায়ীদ'? নাসির যায়ীদের পূর্ব পরিচিত, একত্রে বেশ কিছু সামরিক কোর্স করেছেন। হাত বাধা অবস্থায় নাসিরের লোকেরা যায়ীদকে উঠায় আর্মি হেডকোয়ার্টার অফিসার্স মেসের (বর্ধিত) অংশের ৪র্থ তলার সর্ব পূর্ব দিকের রুমে। রুমের ভিতর ২টি সিসি ক্যামেরা, বাথরুমের দরজা ভাঙ্গা, চারদিকে গ্রীল করা, দরজা-জানালায় কোন পর্দা নেই। এই রুমে তাকে ঢুকিয়ে সাথে সাথে দরজা তালা বন্ধ করে দিলো। শুরু হলো হাত-পা-চোখ খোলা অবস্থায় গোপন কয়েদী সেলের জীবন। ১৫ ফুট বাই ১২/১৩ ফুট তালাবদ্ধ, বাইরে সারাক্ষণ ৩/৪ জন সশস্ত্র সেনা গার্ড, এই অবস্হায় খোলা টয়লেটে টয়লেট করাটা বোধহয় সবচেয়ে কঠিনতম একটি পরীক্ষা। একজন চৌকস পদাতিক অফিসার হয়ে অধীনস্ত সৈনিকদের চোখের সামনে ২৪ ঘন্টার প্রতিটি মুহুর্ত পার করাটা যে কতোটা নির্মম কষ্ট ও বেদনার, তা একজন ভুক্তভোগি ছাড়া আর কেউ বুঝবে না।

এরপর শুরু হলো তদন্ত আদালত। ব্রিগেডিয়ার জেনারেল হালিম, লেঃকঃ শায়েখ, ইঞ্জিনিয়ার্স (বর্তমানে ঢাকা ইঞ্জিনিয়ার্স ব্রিগেডের কমান্ডার) লেঃকঃ মনিরুজ্জামান (১৬ বিএমএ লং কোর্স) ও ১ জন মেজরের মিলিত উচ্চ ক্ষমতাসম্পন্ন আদালতের বিচার। কিন্তু এই আদালত তাকে অধিকাংশ প্রশ্নই করেছিলো তার এক কোর্সমেট লেঃ কর্নেল হাসিনুর রহমান ডিউকের বিষয়ে, যে ছিল কিনা ১০০% সৎ, একজন অসীম সাহসী সেনা কর্মকর্তা। এ বিষয়ে কোন সংশ্লিষ্টতা না পেয়ে তদন্ত কমিটি কর্নেল যায়ীদকে তার (নিজের) সততা মিথ্যা প্রমাণ করার জন্য অর্থ সংক্রান্ত বিষয়ে বিজ্ঞাসাবাদ করে, অথচ যে কর্নেল চাকরী জীবনে কখনও কোনো টিএ বিল নেয়নি। কারণ, ট্র্যাভেল করার সময় যে খরচ হয়, বিল করার সময় তার চেয়ে বেশী বিল করতে হয়। তাকেই, সততা নিয়ে প্রশ্ন? কি বিচিত্র এই দেশ!!

এর মাঝখানে রমজান আসে, আসে ঈদ। কর্তৃপক্ষের নিকট বহুত অনুরোধ ও অনুনয়-বিনয় করেও ঈদের নামাজ পড়ার অনুমতি পায়নি লেঃকর্নেল যায়ীদ। এ সকল নিকৃষ্টতম কাজগুলো একাই নিয়ন্ত্রণ করতো তখনকার লগ এরিয়ার একিউ লেঃ কর্নেল মনিরুজ্জামান। অফিসার নামের এ কলংকিত ব্যক্তিটি নিজের প্রমোশনের জন্য সকল ধরনের অন্যায় কাজগুলো হাসিমুখেই করতো।

ঐ উচ্চ পর্যায়ের তদন্ত কমিটির সদস্যরা যায়ীদকে বিভিন্ন ব্যক্তির রেফারেন্স দিয়ে প্রশ্ন অবান্তর ও নাটকীয় প্রশ্ন করতে থাকে। কর্নেল যায়ীদ ঐসব বায়বীয় অভিযোগ দৃঢ়ভাবে মোকাবেলা করে, এবং তাদেরকে অনুরোধ করে সাজানো নাটকের ব্যক্তিদেরকে ক্রস-এক্সজামিন করতে, সেনা আইন অনুযায়ী তা ছিল অবশ্য করণীয়। কিন্তু ঐ তদন্ত কমিটি সে অনুরোধ অগ্রাহ্য করে। ফলে পুরা তদন্ত রিপোর্টাই অবৈধ হিসেবে বিবেচিত হওয়ার কথা। তদন্ত কমিটির মূল কাজ ৪/৫ দিনের মাঝে শেষ হলেও কালো হাতের ইশারায় অজ্ঞাত কারনে স্বাক্ষর নিতে উপস্থাপন করা হয়েছিল ২ মাস পরে। গুমের সাড়ে তিন মাস পর শেষ হলো এই তদন্ত রিপোর্ট। ২রা নভেম্বর ২০১১ লেঃ কঃ মনিরুজ্জামান কর্নেল যায়ীদের বন্দী সেলে এসে জানায়, "স্যার, আপনার তো কোন দোষ প্রমান পাওয়া যায় নাই। তাই, আপনাকে ৫/৭ দিন পর কুরবানী ঈদের আগেই ছেড়ে দেয়া হবে।"

রোজার ঈদের দিন দুপুরে হঠাৎ যায়ীদের সামনে হাজির করা হয় তার স্ত্রী ও সন্তানদের। দরজা খোলা রেখে স্ত্রী-সন্তানদের সামনে দুইজন অফিসার সামনে বসে থাকতো। ছোট ছেলে হঠাৎ করেই বলে বসলো--- আব্বু তুমি কি চোর? তোমাকে এরা তালা মেরে পাহারা দিচ্ছে কেনো?" সন্তানের প্রশ্নে কোনো জবাব দিতে পারেনি যায়ীদ! সেদিন ছিলো কর্নেল যায়ীদের গুম হওয়ার ৫০তম দিন।

শুরু হলো মুক্তির জন্য প্রহর গননা করা। কিন্তু না, শেষ পর্যন্ত আরো ৩ মাস তাকে ঐভাবেই কয়েদী সেলে বন্দী রেখে মার্চ ২০১২ সালের প্রথম দিকে জানানো হলো যে, তাকে সেনা আইনে ফিল্ড জেনারেল কোর্ট মার্শাল (FGCM) করা হবে। বিনা মেঘে বজ্রপাতের মতন যেন মাথায় আকাশ ভেঙ্গে পড়ে যায়ীদের। শুরু হলো এফজিসিএম, আনা হলো ৩টি চার্জ, যার সাথে তদন্ত আদালতের রিপোর্টের কোনো মিল নাই। কর্নেল যায়ীদকে কোন প্রকার ডিফেন্ডিং ব্যক্তি/ উকিল/ অফিসার নেয়ার জন্য অনুমতি দেয়া হয় নাই। বলা হলো নিজেই নিজেকে ডিফেন্ড করতে হবে। গুম ও বন্দী অবস্থায় কড়া নিরাপত্তার মাধ্যমে শুরু হলো বিচার প্রক্রিয়া। ব্রিগেডিয়ার জেনারেল কামরুল (৬ লং কোর্স) ছিলেন প্রধান বিচারক। কোর্টের শুরুতেই তিনি আদেশ দিলেন যে, ১ নং চার্জের ক্ষেত্রে কোন ডিফেন্স যেন নেয়া না হয়, কিন্তু যার কারনে যার সাথে জড়িয়ে এই চার্জ আনা হলো তাকে পর্যন্ত স্বাক্ষী হিসেবে ডাকা হয়নি। অথচ, এটা করা হলে লেঃ কঃ যায়ীদ নিজেকে সম্পূর্ণ নির্দোষ প্রমাণ করে চাকরী ফেরত পেতেন। কারণ, বাকী ২টা চার্জ তিনি বন্দী থাকা অবস্থাতেই নিজেকে নির্দোষ প্রমাণ করেছেন। এখানে যদি সামরিক আইনগুলো সঠিকভাবে ও নিয়মতান্ত্রিকভাবে পালন করা হতো, তাহলে কর্নেল যায়ীদ নিজেকে ১০০% নির্দোষ পালন করতে পারতেন।

এরপরে ২৪ এপ্রিল ২০১২ সম্পূর্ণ অবৈধভাবেই যায়ীদকে চাকরী থেকে ডিসমিস হয়। এভাবে গুম ও অপহরণ করে প্রায় ১০ অমানবিক শারীরিক ও মানসিক নির্যাতন করে অবৈধভাবে বন্দী রেখে, অবৈধ তদন্ত রিপোর্টের মাধ্যমে, কোন ডিফেন্ডিং প্রক্রিয়া ছাড়াই একজন ১০০% সৎ, মেধাবী , দক্ষ ও যোগ্যতাসম্পন্ন দেশপ্রেমিক সেনা অফিসারকে প্রায় ৩০ বছর চাকরী শেষে শূন্য হাতে বাড়িতে ফেরত পাঠানো হয়। বর্তমানে যায়ীদের কোর্সেমেটরা যখন জেনারেল হয়ে বিভিন্ন ডিভিশন নেতৃত্ব দিচ্ছেন, তখন যায়েদী সন্তানদের স্কুলের বেতন ঠিকমতো দিতে পারেন না, পরের দিন সন্তানদের নিয়ে কি খাবেন, তাও জানেন না! ২৪শে এপ্রিল ২০১২ যখন যায়ীদকে মুক্ত করা হয়, তখন লেঃ কঃ মনিরুজ্জামান ও অন্যান্য সম্পৃক্ত অফিসারবৃন্দ হুশিয়ারী দিয়েছিলেন যে, গত দশ মাসের প্রতিটি মুহুর্তের কর্মকান্ড তাদের কাছে ভিডিও রেকর্ড করা আছে। কাজেই সাবধান!

একজন সার্ভিং সেনা অফিসারকে অস্ত্রের মুখে গুম করে ১০ মাস অমানবিক অত্যাচার-নির্যাতন করে বহুবার ক্রসফায়ার হতে ফেরত এনে অনেকবার ফাঁসিতে ঝুলানোর ট্রায়াল করে, এমনকি তার শিশু কন্যাকে রেপ করে জবানবন্দী আদায় করতে চাওয়াটা কোন্ আইনে পড়ে? বাংলাদেশ সেনাবাহিনীর অফিসাররা এই সব জঘন্য মানবতাবিরোধী অপরাধ করছে, কল্পনা করা যায়? পৃথিবীর কোনো দেশে কোনো আইনে এধরণের ঘৃণ্য জঘন্যতম কাজকে বৈধতা দেয়া হয়েছে? একজন সার্ভিং সেনা অফিসারের সাথে এহেন জঘন্য কার্যক্রম করা কয়েকবার হত্যার চাইতেও ঘৃন্যতম অপরাধ। যেখানে সেনা আইন অনুযায়ী কাউকে অ্যারেস্ট বা বন্দী করা হলে পরবর্তী ২৪ ঘন্টার মধ্যেই তার বিচার প্রক্রিয়া শুরু করতে হবে, অথচ যায়ীদকে ১০ মাস অবৈধ বন্দীখানায় আটকে রেখে নির্যাতন করা হয়েছিল।

ঠিক কী অপরাধের জন্য যায়ীদকে এরকম কঠিন অমানবিক অত্যাচার করা হলো শাস্তি দেয়া হলো, তার সঠিক কারন যায়ীদ বা তার পরিবার আজও জানে না। অপারেশন ক্লিনহার্টে ৩টি জেলার দায়িত্ব পালনকারী একমাত্র ব্যাটালিয়ন কমান্ডার যিনি তখন ১৫৮টি অস্ত্র উদ্ধার করে বড় বড় সন্ত্রাসীদেরকে বন্দী করেন, এটা কি সেই কারন? নাকি ছোটবেলা হতেই যায়ীদ একটু ধর্মভীরু স্বভাবের হওয়াটা কারন হতে পারে? নাকি ২৫শে ফেব্রুয়ারি ২০০৯ সালে পিলখানায় নির্যাতিত হওয়ায় ও পিলখানার ঘটনা নিয়ে একটু বেশী আবেগ প্রবণ হওয়া? তবে কি একজন মুক্তিযোদ্ধার সন্তান হিসেবে দেশপ্রেমের বলিষ্ঠ উদাহরণ হিসেবে 'নিজের লাশেরও দাবী নেই' লিখিত দিয়ে শান্তিবাহিনীর বিরুদ্ধে একাধিকবার ক্রস বার্ডার অপারেশনের নেতৃত্ব দেয়া? নাকি একজন সুদক্ষ কমান্ডো অফিসার হওয়া (যিনি যেকোনে স্থানে যেকোনো পরিস্থিতিতে অপারেশন চালানোর জন্য সিলেক্টড), তার চরম পরিণতির জন্য দায়ী? তবে প্রতিটি জিজ্ঞাসাবাদের সময় প্রতিবেশী দেশের অফিসারদের উপস্থিতি এবং তাদের প্রশ্নে প্রতীয়মান হয়েছে ভারতীয়দের চাহিদা অনুযায় হয়েছিল ঐ গুম, নিগ্রহ এবং অত্যাচার।

রাষ্ট্রের কাছে এর কোনো সঠিক জবাব পাওয়া যাবে কি?
