Dear Mr.Das,
I appalled by your comment that Muslim kids spent a long time in religious studies. Who told you that? Only those kids who are destined to be mullahs may spent a lot of time to learn their trade but other do not spend any specific amount of time at all to learn their faith. This comes along with their regular studies. Some parents do insist that their kids learn the basics of their faith but that is just a normal day to day learning. As every other parents want their children learn Gita or Bible. If your contentions were true you would not have a rebel like me.
But the issue is some where else. All faiths do have a fearsome corner but Islam has made this fear factor an integral part of it. This huge mountain of fear has kept this faith a prisoner of the past. A faith becomes a cult when it demands submission without any question. Any thought process must stand for question and scrutiny and it must profess knowledge not dogmas.
