Thats a very naieve question and very easy to answer. Especially as we are talking about Bangladesh.
JSD sides with AL inspite of its past murders becasue:
It is politically expedient to do so
It gets more shelter under an AL governmnet than a BNP government
AL is at least left of centre in the political spectrum
AL has inside information on JSD that it will not reveal
JSD leaders have been paid off
JSD has chosen to ignore its past in order to survive
JSD has bigger enemies in BNP than in AL
JSD is today a bunch of idiots
JSD leaders enjoy playing cards with AL leaders
AL has given land discretely to JSD leaders
Key players of JSD and AL enjoy a drink together.
Jalil opened accounts for JSD leaders at Mercantile bank
JSD thinks Hasina is prettier than Khaleda
AL stooges are planted in key positions in JSD
AL invites JSD to its events (we are very sensitive about dawats!)
The Soviets pushed JSD towards AL
Its unlikely, based on the political landscape forged by AL and BNP, that JSD would allow past murders to influence its politics.
