Bangladesh Bahrat Pakistan People's Forum (Pakistan Chapter)                                                                                                           Dated: 02/12/09 Press Release    "Pakistan and India urged to keep peaceful environment" "Threats of war produce hatred and uncertainty among people"   National convener of Bangladesh Bharat Pakistan Peoples Forum (BBPPF) Pakistan chapter Shakil WahidUllah Khan; General Secretary Nawaz Arien Sindh and Saeeda Diep from Punjab, in a joint statement, regretted the present statements of war and increased tension between India and Pakistan; stating that when the relationship between the two neighboring countries start to improve, certain elements give irrational statements that injure the cause of peace between the two countries. They stated that people of both the countries long for peace and stability. Both Islamabad and New Delhi should take practical steps to reduce tension between the countries. Instead of spending resources on piling weapons they should spend them on improvement of education, health and on other developmental programs. BBPPF is working for the cause of peace in the region and wants brotherly relationships among the people of these countries. They demanded that visa process should be made easy, trade should be increased, and these countries should learn from each others experiences. These steps would lead to peace and prosperity in the region. History has proved that threats of war produce hatred and uncertainty, while peace brings prosperity. Pakistan and India have spent the last 63 years in tension; the time has come to end this hostility and develop cordial relationship. Instead on relying on others, both countries should solve the problems on table.
