[ALOCHONA] Fw: Google images of Bangladesh

--- On Wed, 1/27/10, Factification <factia@gmail.com> wrote:
Type the word BANGLADESH into google and this is what happens: an advert appears from an Indian government funded/supported  organisation (perhaps via an intelligence agency like RAW) based in USA and India. Images of terror and violence...... stories of..... proliferate. This is not normal even for India, a nation in the grip of 80 major insurgencies, numerous caste and religious conflicts, daily disasters.

Who one supposes is supplying such stories and images: mainly Bangladesh media with Mahuz Anam's Daily Star being among "Right to Know" stars!

And who are the workers inputting such data in such a blatant biased manner into Google search engine?

Mainly INDIAN WORKERS IN  GOOGLE  BACK OFFICES (Yes, these Indians, who would otherwise be starving, are paid good money to provide unbiased information to increase the reputation of Google. In actual fact Indian employees are actively sabotaging Google's reputation.)  As everyone knows India  is very obsessed with making Bangladesh negative in the eyes of the world. What is worse is that such misrepresentations  PSYCHOLOGICALLY DEBILITATE and SHAME CITIZENS OF BANGLADESH . And this you will discover is precisely the effect the letter writer from Sylhet describes to readers in the Daily Star)..

Unless we  draw the attention of the world such an Indian project it  will continue to become the norm as far as the name of BANGLADESH is concerned. Unfortunately, the government of Bangladesh and its 50 odd Embassies are sleeping dogs. They are busy barking at each other, distracted from the main threat.

Look at the way our Prime Minister was received at the Indian airport? Begun Sheikh Hasina Wajed was received by a junior Indian Minister and not by the Prime Minister!

The news coverage was hardly fit for such an important visiting leader of a an state which provides so much foreign exchange, and is an important Islamic ally willing help India gain permanent seat at the UN.

Incredibly, the Qatari government run Aljazeera Indian correspondent Ms Puri sent a patronising and inaccurate report of Bangladesh PM visit in which she stated India as Bangladesh biggest trading partner, implying a favour from India. One wonders why a Gulf Arab nation should be promoting propaganda and insults against a Muslim nation.

Our government handed over to an Indian company one of our mobile phone companies as a gesture of goodwill, but already the story Indian media are printing include words with negative and aid-giving connotations!

In recent days he Indian Air force chief visited Dhaka and  was allowed much good time, but the stories from India imply that Bangladesh Air force needs Indian to help rescue the largely obsolete ragged fighter planes, etc!

The point is this:
POVERTY STRICKEN INDIA CONTROLS THE IMAGE OF BANGLADESH (even from within Dhaka) TO THE WORLD. BANGLADESH IS INDIA'S HOSTAGE.

BANGLADESH IS INCREASINGLY A WORLD PLAYER. OUR PEOPLE HAVE GLOBAL SKILLS INFLUENCING THE WORLD.

Why do we allow India to humiliate us and our nation?

India is hostile to Bangladesh out fear and malice. It will remain hostile and malicious to all things Bangladesh even if we give up our nation to appease her. Such is India's guile she will even abuse Google's good name to abuse and humiliate us.

Please read the letter from Ali Haider Chowdhury to the Daily Star, that follows my missive.

I was searching in the popular internet search engine Google with the key word "Bangladesh" for a web result and got scared to find the result. The reason behind my scare was some photos that automatically came with the web result. I again tried many times with the same key word and always found the same web result with same terrible photos. You can also try and I am sure you will be frightened to see the photos if you are a patriotic citizen of this country. No, the photos do not contain any horror content or ghostly things. One photo shows a cop beating a journalist and another depicts a military parade and contains the caption "Bangladeshi BDR Massacre". These photos portray a negative image of the country to the world. So these are really painful for any Bangladeshi. Today, in the age of information technology, if anybody outside Bangladesh needs to know about the country at first he or she will go to internet and will find a negative impression of Bangladesh. Bangladesh might have many problems but certainly this country is a model of communal and religious harmony. We have a glorious past and we are also an example of rising democracy. So why this country is being portrayed in such a negative way. Please describe Bangladesh in a constructive way. I think Google does not show these photos intentionally as it works automatically by using some programming formulas. The authorities of websites containing these pictures are responsible for this fault. They should immediately delete these pictures.
