Oh well, we're saved then. I knew all the press reports were the work of a jihadi, pro-Pakistan and anti-liberation war evil axis.

Everyone is happy. There is no poverty or corruption. Food prices are the cheapest in the world. Our per capita income is amongst the highest in Asia. And of course, the ruling party continue to shower us with blessings every day.

When oh when are we going to get past the drivel that passes for a politician's bio? Its laughable....

....nee cringe worthy.

Advocate Shamsul Hoque Tuku, the Hon'ble state minister for Home Affairs , Peoples Republic of Bangladesh was born on 31st May 1948 in the village Brishalikha under Bera police station of Pabna District. He is the third son in the family of Late Juran Uddin Sarder and Late Rahima Khatun.

Shamsul Hoque Tuku is a law-abiding Bangladeshi citizen by birth bearing the national ID card number : 7625503129657 and religiously his belief in Islam.

He got married with highly educated woman professor Lutfunnessa Begum on 16 August 1974. He has three well qualified sons who are currently living abroad. His first son advocate S M Asif Shams lives in the UK for higher education, second son S M Saif Shams who is a teacher of Sylhet Shah Jalal Science and Technology University, currently he is staying in Norway to acquire his Ph.D and his youngest son S M Nasif Shams is also doing Ph.D in Dublin city university, Ireland.

Academically Advocate Shamsul Hoque Tuku maintained very successfull profile. Consequently he secured his B.com(Hon's) M.com and MA, LLB from well recognized Rajshahi University Bangladesh.

Politically Shamsul Hoque Tuku has been very fantastic performances
. He elected as the Member of Parliament in the 9th Parliamentary election 2008. He took oath as the state minister for ministry of Power, Energy & Mineral Resources of Bangladesh on 24 January 2009. Afterwards he became the state minister for home affairs of Bangladesh on 1st august 2009.

Advocate Shamsul Hoque Tuku was elected as general secretary of the then Zinnah Hall (presently sher-e-Bangla Hall of Rajshahi University) and became a prominent leader of student union. He also played an important role as one of the leading student leaders of the Rajshahi University Chattra Shangram Parishad. He led the procession of 17 February, 1969 demanding the trial of the murder sergeant Johrul Hoque, one of the accuseds of Agartala conspiracy case and unconditional release of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman along with the withdrawal of the said conspiracy case against him.

Tuku actively participated in the Liberation war in 1971 having taken military training at Deradun India he led the Liberation war from Pabna. His younger brother Abdul Khaleque received martyrdom during the glorious liberation war 1971.

He became the president of Rajshahi University Chattra league during 1972. He was the elected general secretary of Rajshahi University Central Student Union (RUCSU) for 1973-74 and as the Vice President of central executive committee of Bangladesh Chatra League in the same year. Upon complete of his academical career, in 1974 Tuku started his career as lawyer in Pabna Judge Court. He was elected general secretary of Pabna district Bar Association. He served the duty of Vice President of district Awami League from 1996 to 2005 in different terms. He also became the member of Bangladesh Bar council from 1999-2002. In 2005, he was elected the general secretary of Pabna district Awami League. he is also general secretary of the Jatiya Char Neta Parishad central committee.

Tuku is well motivated to construct the country in the way the father of nation Bangobandu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman expected following the leadership of Awami League president and hon'able Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Tuku is very much promising to make the country free from terrorism, poverty and religious fanaticism.
