[ALOCHONA] Willful Removal of “Trust in Allah” from Bangladesh Constitution & Its Implications

Removal of Trust in God is Declaration of War on the Qur'an

Let's put it in black and white. Trusting in God is the integral part of a Muslim's belief. Although it is important, for not reciting the Bismillah one does not lose the faith. For not having trust in God, one ceases to remain a Muslim. The dead-end and Full Stop! The deliberate removal of "Trust in God" from the constitution of Bangladesh put the current Awami Government in a head-on collision course with the Qur'an. Hence, the government is necessarily at an ideological war with the believers in this "Only Book that contains No Doubt" (the Qur'an 02:01-02). The verse 08:02-04 (Al-Anfal) of the Qur'an cannot be any more direct, distinct and compelling: "the believers are only those who on the very mention of God, their hearts tremble and get deterred, when His verses are recited on them their hearts increase in faith and on their Lord alone they maintain the trust".

The verse 08:03 further added to these three attributes, the obligation of "establishing the prayers" and "dispensing from all that God have bestowed upon the believers". The immediate next verse 08:04 however provides the conclusion that "only those who" have obtained these five attributes "are the true believers for whom alone are secured at the custody of their God, the high grades and the respectable provisions as well". In a legal sense, this verse contains an exclusive clause that a true believer can never be dispensed with. The trust in God as such is an obligatory mandate without which one can be anything but "a true believer!" In the plain language of the Qur'an as above, Iman i.e. faith in a believer exists with existence of the trust in God or else it is lost. To this end, the Qur'an is the star witness the explicit language of which is open to anyone honest to his conscience, fairness and justice.

Commencing an important task with the name of God "Bismillah" is though important signifying the good omen in a believer's life and action, even the deliberate missing of it does not cause the loss of "true faith" in one's heart. But to dispense with the "trust in God" as an established institution of belief in the Qur'an, would indeed cause the loss of the "true faith". Put in perspective thus, trust in God is rather important than reciting the lullaby of the Bismillah alone without the spirit. It is thus grotesque in hypocrisy that a declared atheist/communist has been trusted with the law ministry of a nation the 90% of which are Muslims. The maxim goes, should one trust the fox with the key to his henhouse?

In the name of reform and accommodating the secularism, removing the institution of trust in God from the constitution of Bangladesh is a gross blasphemy and hence represents the nationally disgraceful crime unforgiveable. Keeping the Bismillah in the constitution by forgoing the "trust in God" is a mockery and indeed, an outright public treachery. As a part of conspiracy and public lying, secularism has been marketed in the name of religio-neutralism. Whereas in its functional meaning the secularism is nothing but atheism (ref. Dictionary.com). Muslim is an adjective from Islam. Hence there can be no Muslim without Islam. The bottom line is a Muslim can never be a secular. Before all else, playing with Islamic credentials of Bangladesh constitution is a profound complicity of the atheists beyond our territories. It represents a great challenge to the national identity of Muslims in this devout Muslim nation. No matter who devised it, now that such a major crime has been committed by the current government, it is an Islamic obligation on every serious believer to reverse it at any cost. Come what may, the Qur'an will come out victorious!

Removal of the accomplice government from the office is the first remedy and it is now a public duty on those decided to stand guard saving their faith. Democracy has already been vandalized by the interest groups guised as the ruling attachment, the police including. Security apparatus has been used as accessory to various crimes by those in power. Hence, the need to take to the street causing disruption of peace, tranquility and even public assets was forced upon the Muslim masses. The current government as fed, loaded and bastardized as it is now has no mind, will or gut to care for public interests anymore. The public assets have been turned into the government machines and apportioned by the party thugs. Through cronies, the Public Services Commission has been rendered idle. Due to the widespread corruption, the lack of investor confidence turned the economy into the Indian consumer market. Good for India and so is the bankrupt Bangladesh for our powerful neighbor. In such an uneven relationship only the stooge and the master survive. To forge it over long term, Islam is an obstacle and hence the antagonism.

The current government of Bangladesh is the vestige of the atheist who having lost their fort in the former Soviet Union and the neighboring West Bengal became the parasites on Bangladeshi Muslims. Bangladesh was functioning very well with a constitution inclusive of "Bismillah" and "Trust in God" among others. No church has been closed and no temple has been abandoned. As opposed to the scores of shameful communal riots in India, Bangladesh has had a bright history of religious tolerance. The credit goes to the Qur'an and the Qur'an alone: "there can never be any compulsion in the matter of religion" (the Qur'an 02:256). If the basis for the current constitution is the judgment of the High Court, it must have been adopted in totality i.e. removal of Bismillah as well. The piecemeal approach to the judgment is nothing but cowardice and opportunism. Such an approach turned the current constitution of the country into the constitution of the Awami League. Ironically, Go nation Go! Go boating but make sure you carry an oar! In the name of the parliamentary majority, the current government is acting as both the judge and the jury; a total disgrace of the democratic dichotomy! This is the democracy of the Awami League!

Through misuse of parliament and the failure of institutions, Bangladesh may soon turn out as a failing state. The communists on the other hand have no nation or homeland. The bankrupt ideology of the politburo must be rescued at any cost even at the expense of a million lives. The communism had been rejected, dead and buried in its birthplace, the former Sovient Union. In China it had been vandalized to the extent of complete distortion. The outstanding position of the Awami Government against Islam and the Qur'an is bound to push the country to civil war. May God save us from the civil war in Pakistan and Afghanistan! The Mishandling of Islam and Muslims was the cause there. The current Awami government is now forcing Bangladesh also in showing the ominous symptoms. The Muslim masses in Bangladesh will never compromise with their religion of which the Qur'an is the identity. Various Islamic republics emerged from the relics of the Soviet Union are the royal witnesses. To protect their Islamic identity along with its flag-bearer the Qur'an, the 90% Muslims in the country will take whatever measures necessary.

As a critical observer of the politics of opportunism in Bangladesh, I am appalled to see the political minority's play with the Qur'an materializing where the 90% of the population are Muslims. The fire is now on heading to untold misery for all. As much hurtful as it is to the public feelings, the shrewdness as above is bound to see the end of the current government. As to the outcome, this is the faith accompli. There is now a real chance that similar to Egypt, Tunisia, Libya and Yemen, the public resurgence will take its course to a convincing victory. There is no shortage of Tahrir Square in Bangladeh nor of those young in blood teaming with virginity for the loyalty to the Qur'an. Bangladesh needs a government that is honest and driven before all else, by the urge to feed its huge population. With the stigma of being the most corrupt government on earth, forcing the non-issues to the fore is indeed shrewdness towards the vile and evil end of misleading public opinion. Shrewd! You will be caught!

Constitution! What Constitution?
The current constitution of Bangladesh is fundamentally flawed needing a complete overhaul and needing it now! Not to care for the national identity of 90% subjects, this document was beset with treachery, conspiracy and shame. Whatever may have been devised as a transient document in 1970 must have gone through the processes of numerous drafting and re-drafting through direct public referenda. None of these happened and hence, the nation was duped to a substandard document. Due to this fundamental lacking, the current constitution of Bangladesh is dictatorial in nature and reprehensible in consequences. Let's open our eyes to learn how other nations did their constitutions the last being that of Thailand. Ascending the status as sacrosanct to a document fundamentally flawed will never earn it the national prestige.

Due to the lack of extensive public consultation from the outset, driven by which various drafts should have been floated for public criticism, the constitution was dangerously flawed. A constitution is an outright sham if the masses that are affected by its provisions have not been given a chance to comment. It would render the document to a truly dictatorial apparition. The issue is rather a total joke when it comes to the constitution recently done by the Awami League MPs. The claim thus by Mufti Amini to throw the current constitution in the dustbin of history and the promise from Madam Khaleda Zia of the BNP to cast it away is both bold and justified. To a politician casting the current Awami constitution away in favor of the rather duly made out integrative one may be anything. But to a believer, and more importantly to the Ummah of the Qur'an it is a sacred Islamic duty.
