Without reducing the gravity of the situation and seriousness of the accusation, I would like to know: Was the alleged perpetrator tried in a court of law and proven beyond reasonable doubt that the accuser is really accusing the right person? May be the girl was raped by someone else, now she got just the easy target to point her fingers to. Without full forensic analyses and due process of the law the alleged person should be considered innocent.

Viqarunnesa School and Punishment of Rapist Parimal
Different student and rights organisations yesterday demanded exemplary punishment to sacked schoolteacher Porimol Joydhor who is accused of sexually assaulting a female student recently.In a statement, Bangladesh Chhatra Moitri urged the authorities of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College to end internal feud and be united to ensure punishment of Porimol.Meanwhile, National Girl Child Advocacy Forum yesterday formed a human chain in front of Jatiya Press Club demanding punishment of Porimol and his patrons.Around 400 members of 24 organizations joined the human chain and demanded punishment also to the four teachers against whom sexual assault complaints have been filed.Educationist Dr Meher E Khoda, former headmistress of Motijheel Ideal School and College Dr Momena Khatun, and Kazi Minhajul Alam of City College spoke at the human chain among others.At a press conference, Bangladesh Nari Pragati Sangha condemned the incident of sexual assault by Porimol and demanded punishment to all involved in such offences.Porimol Joydhor, a Bangla teacher of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College, Bashundhara branch, violated a class X student of the school at his Badda coaching centre on June 17.
We are also concerned with the situation in Viqarunnesa school itself. Turmoil is going on there, The governing council by a majority of members present in Bangladesh decided to appoint the senior most teacher as Principal as the Principal was absconding in a case. The government intervened too early and dissolved the governing council and cancelled the appointment of senior most teacher as Principal on small procedural ground. This prompt action shows politics behind it. In any case we want peace in the school
On the other hand on the issue of rapist teacher we want his punishment through due process of law. We raise another question. In dealing the rising cases of rapes and eve-teasing, we are ignoring the negative factors which are making the young men violent , the pornography, the bad advertisements, the obscene films, the internet availability of naked pictures. We will have to give attention to these negative factors.
