If anyone believes that any book can be sent from the heavens, such as the Koran, no intellectual discussion can be initiated. The whole context of Koran is related to the social condition of Muhammad's own times. The rigidity a reader finds in this book is nothing but the necessity of his contemporary times. The blunder one commits when this 1500 years old context is interpreted as the remedy the ills of our times. The proponents of this dysfunctional school of thought are doing a great harm by insisting blindly that Koranic injunctions can be propelled to our times. They forget that in the realm of intellectual discussion blind faith is not an acceptable platform. The fear which is the fundamental core of Islam is being used as a cult by these people who are blind to the unstoppable wheels of changes.
