Re: [mukto-mona] Can we discuss religion freely?

Talking about brain inside someone's skull, people who have that do see proof more via their brain than their eyes. The statement of "what can be asserted without proof can be dismissed without proof" remains valid, irrespective of who might get too defensive (via undue offences).

You have never seen (Proof) that you have a functioning brain inside YOUR skull. That does not mean you do not have a brain (At least I don't need to have "Proof" of that). I think you do.....

As far as Hitchen's is concern, he was 180 degree u-turn at last 10 years of his life. When being atheist was not selling hot, we attached himself with Fox network and relentlessly attacked Muslims exclusively. He wrote a book supporting Bangladeshi freedom movement and went against the US "Establishment wisdom". In later life we "Submitted" to "Establishment wisdom" to make a buck. So I don't think very highly of Hitchens.

Our late professor Muzaffar Hossain is an example of character, integrity and intellectual honesty. Too bad we do not have too many like him.

Shalom!

"Talking about religion is serious stuff."
Mr. Bose, What makes you think that the discussion is not serious? Do we need to bring Moulawis, Pundits and Bishops for a serious discussion? I find it odd when you propose further comparative studies about religion before we discuss the subject. In another words, you would like to conduct a comparative study but not discuss?

I am sure you can study religion more meticulously for another thousand years and end up with brother, Christopher Hitchens's great conclusion!
"What can be asserted without proof can be dismissed without proof."

Since you know so much about religion, please enlighten us if you care! That would be really helpful. Thank you.
