Islamists of Bangladesh are also very tech-saavy and are an expert in training cyberspace trolls and hecklers.

Information Technology highway used to spread havoc among N-E people

By NVONews.Com Special Correspondent,

Those who deliberately spread the baseless rumours that people of north-east India living in Bangalore and other places in Karnataka would be targeted after Eid-ul-Fitr were well aware of the importance of information technology as well as the negative impact its misuse can cause to the people.

This incident can not be seen in isolation as it was the photos of Assam violence sent through MMSs and SMSs that provoked a section of people outside Azad Maidan in Mumbai last Saturday (Aug 11).

Is it that technology is deliberately being used to vitiated the atmosphere in the country? Earlier, rumours used to take quite a long time to spread, but now it can be spread within matter of  minutes. There is no one medium to spread rumours or disinformation campaign through which havoc can be wreaked.

It appears that the rumour spread in Bangalore is a part of a planned conspiracy as the people of north-east in itself are not any homogenous group. How can an Assamese be equated with a Mizo? Besides, there is so much contradictions within the people of north-east too, for example, between Manipuris and Nagas. Anyway targeting any innocent person is in itself a crime.
