I was watching Bangla-TV yesterday, and they were showing EID-jamat all over Bangladesh. The commentators were showing the pictures of EID-jamats, all over Bangladesh. One of the commentators ended his coverage with a statement like – EID-jamat ended with a prayer to Allah for the well-being of the entire Muslim-Ummah around the world. This last statement stuck in my mind. A national prayer is usually directed to all humankind, not just a particular group of people. Obviously, they have the right to pray for anybody they like. But, it appeared to me kind of odd and narrow. I feel good when someone sends EID-greetings to me. It would be nice if they could include others in their prayers also on this holy occasion.
