Child molestation is a heinous crime. Still we have to stay with the law of the land and not look for the most harsh one from random source such as, other country, culture or religion. Rather we must improve our laws. Recently , under peoples demand India has introduced death penalty for rape.
Thank to the women groups in Bangladesh the problem of rape has been being discussed openly and laws have improved. As a result, some victims and their families are speaking up and taking the crime to the legal system. That does not mean problem of rape has been solved.
It is time to start an open discussion about child abuses - sexual, physical and emotional. Abuse happens to children more often in all societies than citizens are ready to admit. The taboo is stronger as these abuses occur mostly by the people who are suppose to take care of the children. This is the most vulnerable group of people in this world and need all the attention and caring from society. If anybody know about this part of 'the women and children repression law' in Bangladesh, please comment. Regards.

Thanks a lot Kaniz apa. Exactly that's what I requested Mr. Rahman. He said that it was an expression of utter anger with the perpetrators and that's why he sought for harsher punishment which he thinks can be guaranteed by Sharia Law.

Please do not encourage using Sharia law for any crime. A crime is a crime and should be dealt with the law of the land. As many of us are not happy with the islamists, we may give them more power by associating religion and crime. It will be used by the islamists as nastiks and foreign agents attacking islam. As for the long term solution, the education system need overhauling. Regards.
