Sheikh Hasina is the main reason for such rejection by voters. Her 'misrule' is number one reason. Even the most honest candidates belong to BAL will face defeat because of Hasina only.This is time for her to retire from active politics and seek pardon to the people of Bangladesh.

‘হলমার্ক, ডেসটিনি ও শেয়ারবাজার কেলেঙ্কারি, পদ্মা সেতুর দুর্নীতি ইত্যাদির কারণে জনগণ আওয়ামী লীগের প্রার্থীকে ভোট দেয়নি’ এমন বিশ্লেষণের সঙ্গে একমত নন দলটির নীতিনির্ধারকরা। তাঁদের মতে, সরকারকে যদি দুর্নীতির কারণেই ভোট না দেয়, তাহলে তো বিরোধী দলের চিহ্নিত ও প্রমাণিত দুর্নীতিবাজদের ভোট দিয়ে বিজয়ী করত না। আজমত উল্লাহ খানের মতো একজন ‘ক্লিন ইমেজের প্রার্থীকে বাদ দিয়ে হজের টাকা আত্মসাতের অভিযোগে মন্ত্রিত্ব হারানো বিএনপির প্রার্থী অধ্যাপক এমএ মান্নানকে ভোট দিত না। আসলে গাজীপুরে দলের মধ্যে অনৈক্য, বিভেদ-দ্বন্দ্বই দলীয় প্রার্থীর পরাজয়ের প্রধান কারণ।
