Re: [mukto-mona] একালের 'হিন্দা'

Well "Ignorance" means something we do not know. "Stupidity," on the contrary, is something we know better, yet do it wrong. We all do stupid things in life.

Bangladeshi voters are not stupid; they are ignorant voters, since they do not know any better. They are ignorant because of many factors, such as, ill-education or non-education, religious bias/exploitation, political propaganda, etc.

For the most part, I do not care about the exposure of any individual in the public forum. And, obviously, an individual just cursing someone, without talking any fact or reason, in a little write up is not really worth my time. That is why I did not really criticize the writer below, I just suggested the mukto-mona forum to have a mechanism of rejecting such rubbish.

There is a difference between "ignorant" and "stupid." People who voted for BNP after that party's election talk of 'ulu dhwani from the mosques' fit the definition of "stupid" better. As I wrote many times, "stupidity" and "hatred" generally go together. If the voters in Bangladesh had the sense of right and wrong, they would have been disgusted with BNP's talk of 'ulu dhwani from the mosques'.

I think the US voters elect mostly good leaders, Electoral College or not, mostly because they have the sense of right and wrong, even when they are ignorant (do not know). Of course, a "stupid" person is one who does not make sense/logic/rationale. Even a very smart person is likely to be "ignorant" of many things in the world.

You are right, concocted falsehood should not be circulated, but again, people need to know these people. I believe it is better to know such people than not knowing them. You can see their mindset, as they expose it in public, and understand what we are dealing with. So, I tend to think that it is best to give them a chance to reveal their mindset in the forum.

BNP has plenty of these people, who will say anything and do anything to go to power. Khaleda Zia once said in the Public Meetings that if Awami League comes to power people will hear "Uloo-Dhanni" in the Mosque.  We did not hear "Uloo-Dhanni" in the Mosque yet, even though Awami League is power for about six years. Did we? She knew it was a blatant lie, but "ignorant" public will not understand that. She won the election that time.

The ability to understand right or wrong political ideals in general public is almost nonexistent, which is a tragic situation in Bangladesh, to say the least. This condition opens up the floor for spreading such falsehood to sway the public opinion.

In USA, electoral voting system was introduced so that some charismatic leader may not sway Public opinion in a course that is detrimental to the interest of the country. Even this system is not flawless, but it is better than anything else in the world.

I think Mukto-Mona needs to do some moderating and expunge this kind of rubbish that is sent to many recipients. Is there any fact or logic in this as to why the so-called
সরকার দলীয় ভারতীয় দালাদের নেত্রী is getting all the rest of the comments? Mukto-Mona should not just let anything get posted in the site.
