[mukto-mona] Delhi Rape Case Sentence

Delhi court has finally given its verdict on the Dec 16, 2012 gang rape case and sentenced four convicted criminals to life imprisonment. Last December we did upload a write-up expressing our revulsion to this heinous crime on the www.voiceforjustice website. The URL to that article is given below for those who want to refresh his or her memory.We, along with others, demanded capital punishment - not out of vengeance but as a deterrent - and now we feel that we have been vindicated.

At least in one aspect Bangladesh seems to be streets ahead of India and that is treating women with honour and dignity. Prof. Amertya Sen in his latest book 'An Uncertain Glory: India and its Contradictions' (Aug 11, 2013) has articulated this aspect very eloquently.
