We Bangladeshis love to beat our chests for sovereignty and yet, we would not hesitate to cross other countries' border as if they are our dearest in laws. It is high time to consider whether consuming Indian beef is worthwhile against the smugglers' lives. We rather chew the bones gladly but curse the Indians for not letting us have the stolen delicacies. That makes us morally superior morons?

Golam Mortoza has a short memory.  In the last days of the last Hasina rule our valiant BDR fighters killed about a dozen BSF members resulting into drying out of Indian fund for Awami League in 2001 election.  A million(or close to it) cattle enter each year across the porous border, most of which are stolen any way.  The best way to stop border incidents would be to make the cross border trade legal.  Share of illegal border trade earning goes to civil and paramilitary bureaucracy.
