There are many who join a political rally to commit heinous acts intentionally to defame a political party; they are the infiltrators from other parties. Then, there are many party-criminals, who do not have any quality for politics, except thuggish qualities. This particular thug, Tuku, is using his thuggish quality to terrorize religious minorities in the region so that they will not dare to vote against him. As per the report, he is using 'boat' symbol to seek vote, meaning he earned some sort of nomination from Awami League. What a quality candidate from Awami League!
As per my memory - thugs always rule Bangladeshi society; they are the leaders. No one can stop them. People are powerless; they have no right to own guns to protect themselves from these thugs. So, only way these thugs can be stopped is by setting an example with the highest punishment possible to these criminals. To make that happen, political parties need to feel the need to stop them. But, that's not going to happen in Bangladesh; because - 1) government is afraid that they will need the same techniques when they are not in power, and 2) government can safely blame the opposition parties for these criminality. In any event, politicians are not paying any price; only stupid public is paying with their lives and properties. Politicians will visit, and give a fiery speech; that's all they will get from politicians.
A few days back, we saw horrendous pictures of arson and vandalism, where criminals were terrorizing people on the street with machetes, sticks, and firebombs. How hard it could be to find those criminal when their acts are captured in the crystal clear colored pictures, flashing on the front page of the newspaper. Those criminals are not unknown. If law enforcement agencies in the Western countries can apprehend criminals using grainy black and white security camera footages, why Bangladeshi law enforcement cannot find those criminals using their crystal clear pictures? Surely, they can; but, they won't. That's the government politics.
All these make me long for the corruption fighting Fakruddin-Moinuddin government of 1/11.

Some of you may think I am propagating this message on behalf of BNP. I am not, I am NOT. I think out of the two evils in Bangladesh, BNP is still the despicable party, because it is in collusion with Jamaat. I want to see the end of Jamaat.
