মসজিদে দাঙ্গা বাধাতে গিয়ে ধরা পড়ল 'বিজয় কুমার' দক্ষিণ ভারতে মুসলমানদের মধ্যে ঘরোয়া বিরোধ বা দাঙ্গা বাধানোর চেষ্টার সময় হাতেনাতে ধরা পড়েছে এক হিন্দু যুবক।

বিজয় কুমার নামের ওই হিন্দু যুবক ও তার একদল সঙ্গী গতকাল (শুক্রবার) জুমার নামাজের পর হায়দ্রাবাদের মক্কা মসজিদের মুসল্লিদের নানা অংশের মধ্যে ঢুকে এমনভাবে পাথর ছুঁড়তে থাকে যাতে হঠাৎ করে কারো কাছে এটাই মনে হত যে প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বী মুসলমানরাই পরস্পরের প্রতি পাথর ছুঁড়ছে।

কিন্তু মুসল্লিরা গৌলিপুরার যুবক বিজয় কুমারকে হাতেনাতে সনাক্ত করে তাকে পুলিশের কাছে সোপর্দ করে। বিজয়কুমার ও তার সঙ্গীরা ইসলামী প্রতীক খচিত কালো শোকের পোশাক এবং লকেট পরা ছিল। তারা জুমার নামাজ শুরু হওয়ার আগেই মসজিদে ঢুকতে সক্ষম হয়েছিল।

উল্লেখ্য, গতকাল ছিল ভারতের অযোধ্যায় উগ্র হিন্দুত্ববাদীদের হাতে ঐতিহাসিক বাবরি মসজিদ ধ্বংসের ২১ তম বার্ষিকী।

HYDERABAD: The Moghalpura police on Saturday said the alleged involvement of Vijay Kumar, from Gowlipura, in Friday's protests in the Old City was being probed from all angles, including the possibility of him conducting a recce of Mecca Masjid.

According to inspector G Naveen Kumar, a case under sections 147 (rioting) and 148 (rioting with deadly weapon) of IPC has been registered against Vijay. Police are also gathering evidence as to why Vijay was wearing a pendant with an Islamic inscription and black clothes. Interestingly, Vijay, who works as a private financier and pawn broker in Bahadurpura, is not in police custody.

"He will not go absconding. We are looking at all angles and have taken down details such as his place of residence among other things. We are analysing his call records as well," the inspector said. He denied that Kumar was a police informant despite many other policemen contradicting his claims.

Cases have also been booked based on the testimony of Shah Ali Banda corporator Mohammed Ghouse who allegedly caught Vijay raising Islamic slogans. Other cases were booked after the injured -Venkatesh from Lalithabagh in Uppuguda and Uday Kumar from Falaknuma - approached the south zone police.

Meanwhile, MIM legislators Ahmed Pasha Qadri, Ahmed Balala, Moazzam Khan, Afsar Khan and Mumtaz Khan met police commissioner Anurag Sharma on Saturday and expressed their displeasure on Vijay not being arrested. They also demanded that the police take quick action against all miscreants.
