[mukto-mona] RE: Regarding Lamaat-shibir

I don't know why you you are conversing with me on my private mail on this topic of public interest.
However, I agree with most of the points you've made regarding the history of success of Jamaat in the political scene, and now in the financial arena in Bangladesh. Not much argument there.
I will argue vehemently, though, about one point you made, not only because it is factually erroneous, but because it leads to wrong interpretation of current events.  You are not quite correct, and even self-contradictory (after admitting Awami League patronization of Jamaat),  when you state "Awami League started trial of their central leaders on political ill-motive only ( forming a controversial court comprising of Awami Judges and lawyers )  to weaken BNP alliance . . ."
Demanding trial of the local Bangalee 1971 War criminals has a long record of being the central force of a strong citizens' movement.  Awami League defaulted on its promise to hold the trials in their term in 1996. In the election cycle of 2008, it is doubtful that they would have had the spectacular winning result at the polls if they did not make the election promise of creating a War Crimes Tribunal for trying the crimes of 1971. The credit, if you can call it that, does not fully belong to AL.
Despite desultory appearances, Jamaat is NOT being confronted by this outgoing Govt. either politically or forcefully.  Once again, let me agree with you, and hope that the nation's rejection of Jamaat and its foreign ideology will follow suit and result in its disappearance from this land.

Your position on the subject means Jamaat is a successful organization patronized by Awami League and BNP for the last 42 years. If they were punished just after liberation then the nation would not have noticed this violence now being held in the country. Jamaat did not disturb in Bangladesh for the last 42 years, they were engaged into their own politics and building economic strong-hold, got valid registration to continue politics in Bangladesh, captured parliament seats also. But after 42 years when Awami League started trial of their central leaders on political ill-motive only ( forming a controversial court comprising of Awami Judges and lawyers )  to weaken BNP alliance, then Jamaat Shibir started to revenge as it is against their existence. This is the reality. If you think Chhatra League rather has become a heinous terrorist organization, proved themselves by their criminal / offensive activities for the last 5 years. Jamaat should have been confronted  politically rather than forcefully, if nation rejects them they would have disappeared from the country, but now they will continue in Bangladesh years together as Al-Qaeda activists.
