RE: [mukto-mona] When are they starting the trial of the 195 war criminals they promised to try at home?

Any nation can go to the international courts to seek justice and solution about any issue which cannot be resolved bilaterally or similar ways. The contemporary approaches are the Australians' complain against Japan on whale hunting, Bangladesh's complain about the borderline in the water with the Yanmar in the international court. There are many other trials has been done in the international court such as genocide in Africa, Europe and so on

Seeking justice for the genocide committed by Pakistan in Bangladesh in 1971, division of the state wealth after separation of the wings of Pakistan (same as India-Pakistan in 1947) are the clearly proven issues.  Seeking justice from the guilty party  make no sense. The international court is the right place to go for those. Calling the guilty party for confession and to say sorry is a civilized way to start with. Exactly Bangladesh has been doing for quite too much long period of time. Pakistan has been continiously shrugging of the call. Rather they are passing offensive, hurting and uncivilized comments even standing on the soil of Bangladesh some times.

At least symbolically the 195 Pakistani killers should be brought to justice before they die. It is also looking awkward when the main criminals are out of the judgement and their co-criminals are facing trial and hanging in Bangladesh.

Bangladesh has moral right to ask this question to state of Pakistan. However I do not think they should outsource this job to Gonojagoron moncho. Civilized countries can be tough within their diplomatic channels and stick with it. At least we can raise it during next regional forums.

We have a foreign ministry and it is their job to speak on behalf of our people and government.

Outsourcing these important issues to the mob would betray our collective spirit of 1971. Pakistan made many mistakes and we are separated now. Shouting and crying are not the way of doing justice, it will require dedication and solid diplomacy.

Again we have to seek justice not revenge. Attacking Pakistani consulate or even Pakistani nationals is not the right approach. I hope cool headed fair people will take lead if we ever decide to work on this issue.

I was watching a poster written addressing Pakistan as a "Failed state". Sadly the young man with that poster probably does not realize that, unless we get a peaceful solution to our current political crisis, we are ALSO heading in that direction.

So let us make sure our dream of prosperous Bangladesh is alive and well (While we discuss other countries).

Shalom!

Without the trail and execution of 195 war criminals of Pakistan, Pakistan's raised voice wont stop.
The war crime court either in Pakistan or in Bangladesh or in Hague must should take immediate step to start the trial. The crime of genocide never considered be late.

Bangladesh govt. should take strong initiative to start the process. now.

Bangladesh should ask the Pakistan Govt. when are they starting the trial of the 195 war criminals they promised to try at home?  Also Bangladesh should start in absentia  trial of the guys against whom there are proof of atrocities, like the 195 that were repatriated. By this step Pakistan has exposed it's reprehensible nature.  This should be strongly condemned by BD Govt and civil society. Pakistan might have unwittingly given an opening to AL which can be tactfully exploited to  expose nature of BNP/Jamat's strong  link with Pakistan. But it is NOW or never. Will we do it or are we capable of doing so, is the big question?
