[mukto-mona] Hoons in politics

Your comment, though it is a blunt way to put the fact of BD political scene today, the truth is undeniable .  A long history of hooliganism in the name of politics in BD rapidly going downhill currently.  Claiming fresh lives, creating terror, challenging a civil society.

The big hope is that commoners are extremely hardworking people which is easily visible in the streets of cities and villages of the country. The nation is economically sound though based on traditional way of doing things. Its amazing that a nation of such huge population manages to grow their own food and does not import basic needs. These all are happening without a stable people friendly political management, entirely based on various unwritten successful rules of their own. Most of the population is un-corrupt, honest and hardworking.

The people pay taxes but does not receive any social support when in need in sickness or in old ages. Still they are continuously contributing to the nation by their strong hands and generous hearts.  But sadly, a class of hoon monsters eating up endlessly until they die in the hand of the others hoons ultimately.

It is too much to expect that the present cadre of illiterate and semi-literate political animals in Bangladesh will learn anything (from India or from any other country) or even capable of learning anything. You have to put your hopes on hold until these politicians disappear from the political scene voluntarily or otherwise.

BJP wins with landslide (267 seats) victory in India, while Congress gets only 50 seats. It's worth mentioning that such a giant democracy (~560 million votes casted) ended election without incidence of violence is nothing short of wonder. Suspicion was raised from BJP before election about possible vote rigging by the ruling Congress Party, but no one screamed for caretaker-government, and no one tried to block the election through violence either. It took more than a month to complete vote casting in the election. This is remarkable. Please see the rest of the news at:

I just hope immature and jungle political system of Bangladesh will learn some civic lessons from this historic election in India.
