You hate alcohol and gun culture of USA, but you admit this society is safer and better off than that of Bangladesh, where alcohol and gun are prohibited. Your statement reveals your misconception about alcohol and gun culture of USA.
You are right, society can turn into a hell even without legalizing alcohol and gun culture. That's a correct observation. Most criminalities happen due to cumulative anger or grudges. Intoxicated brain attains a self-absorbed forgiving state of mind. No one, in that state, can recollect any bad feelings about anything. So, I think - controlled consumption of alcohol in a bar or in a private setting may even help reducing crime in the society. That may be the reason why most hellish societies are found in places where alcohol is forbidden.

Indeed, the British have a lot of reasons to be a proud nation. This is clearly a case in point.
A few weeks back my wife and I had a social occasion, including going to the bar, with some very important Americans. One point of chatting was the American gun culture. I had to conclude by saying that while the gun and alcohol cultures are two things that I very much dislike about America, compared to this country the country of my birth is a jungle.
