[mukto-mona] Victor Stenger, Physicist and Prolific Atheist Author, is Dead at 79



Dr. Victor J. Stenger, the physicist and prolific author died late Wednesday night in Hawaii at the age of 79.

Stenger was a prominent figure in  "New Atheist" movement, and  his books offered up how the universe works and how it came to be, without resorting to supernatural explanations. God: The Failed Hypothesis was the first NYT bestseller in (secular publisher) Prometheus Books' history. He is famous for his memorable phrase, "Science flies you to the moon. Religion you into buildings."
 
I had some personal connection with Prof. Stenger. I pretty much collected and read his every books. His books and writings influenced me tremendously.   I wrote a piece in Bangla on Dr. Stenger, which you may read from here:
