The history can be a useful tool to understand the present, if it is interpreted correctly. But, this gang spreads vile communality and misinformation in the internet. In their eyes, Sheikh Mujib is the villain, and Zia is the hero. By following this logic, one should understand who they are.
The fact is - there could be no Bangladesh without Sheikh Mujib, so he is the obvious father of the nation. No question or misunderstanding there.
How about Ziaur Rahman? He is a hero to so many. In my view, he is a hero to them, not because of his role in the independence movement (because Major Zia was one of so many sector commanders, such as, Gen. Osmani, Cor. Taher, Kader Siddiqui, etc.), but because of his role after the independence.
As per history, even though, Sheikh Mujib had a plan to rehabilitate some of the Razakars, in due course, but it was Ziaur Rahman, who made the Razakar-rehabilitation plan into reality, overnight.
Soon after ascending to power, Zia appointed a prominent anti-liberation Razakar leader, Shah Azizur Rahman, as the Prime Minister of the newborn Bangladesh. In my view, Zia is the father of the Razakar-rehabilitation program in the nation. So, it should be obvious - why so many people adore Ziaur Rahman as their hero.
I am saying these, not to demean Sheikh Mujib or Ziaur Rahman, but to explain the unpleasant, but useful, truth, which also explain the core ideological difference between Awami League and BNP.
History needs to be interpreted in an unbiased manner for the younger generation's sake. But, this gang has a different agenda. It's very sad to see that some highly educated people will be engaged in the willful distortion of the historical facts day-after-day. I am not sure how they reconcile with their conscience.

ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে এর আগেও নারীরা লাঞ্ছিত হয়েছেন। ভীষণভাবে অপমানিত হয়েছেন। টিএসসিতে বাধনের কথা ভুলে যায়নি বাংলাদেশ। কী ভয়ঙ্কর অপমান।
এরপর ২০০২ সালে ২৩ জুলাই গভীর রাতে পুরুষ পুলিশ শামসুন্নাহার হলে প্রবেশ করে বেধড়ক পিটুনি ও অপমানের ঘা আজও দগদগ করছে। তবুও বাঙালি হোক আদিবাসী হোক কী এক প্রাণের টানে তারা ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে আসে। জানে এখানে পুরুষ নামের শ্বাপদেরা যে কোন সময় হামলে উঠতে পারে, তারা অবশ্য গোটা বাংলাদেশেই পারে এবং পারছে; তবুও ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়কে ঘিরে আমাদের জাতীয় জীবনের উৎসবগুলো হয়ে উঠে রঙ্গিন।
হতে পারে এই বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়টি থেকে বাংলাদেশ নামক রাষ্ট্রের যাত্রা শুরু হয়েছিল, এ কারণে জন্মের নাড়ির টানে ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়েই যায় মানুষ। সেই প্রাণের ক্যাম্পাসে আবারো বাঙলা বর্ষবরণের দিনে ভয়ঙ্করভাবে অপমানীত হলেন নারী। এবারো কি পার পেয়ে যাবে পশুর দল?
কবে কোন কালে সেই ১৫ বছর আগে এই বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে ভর্তি হয়েছিলাম। বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় ছেড়েছিও কবে কোনকালে। কিন্তু যতবারই বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রাচীর ঘেষে রাত করে কারখানা থেকে বাসায় ফিরে, মনে হয় বাড়ির পাশ দিয়ে ফিরছি। সে এক আজব অনুভূতি। মনে হয় এই বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রতিটি জায়গাজুড়ে একদিন আমি ছিলাম। এই অস্তিত্ব এতো প্রগাঢ় যে আমার খুব ভেতরে তা অনুভব করি।
বাধনের কথা ভোলেনি বাংলাদেশ, সেই অপকর্মের হোতা ছিল তৎকালিন শাসক সরকারী ছাত্রসংগঠন ছাত্রলীগের গুণ্ডারা। আবার ছাত্রদলের অছাত্র নেতা লুসিকে রক্ষা করার জন্য ২০০২ সালে ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের তৎকালীন ভিসি ড. আনোয়ার উল্লাহ পুরুষ পুলিশ মধ্যরাতে পাঠিয়েছিল ছাত্রী হল শামসুন্নাহারে। ২৩ জুলাইয়ের ওই রাতের বিভীষিকার পর আগুনে দ্রোহে জ্বলে উঠে ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়। ভিসি আনোয়ার উল্লাহকে আন্দোলনের মুখে বিদায় নিতে হয়।
বাঙলা বর্ষবরণের দিনে যে নারীকে ভয়ঙ্করভাবে টিএসসির সামনে সোহরাওয়ার্দীর গেটে লাঞ্ছিত করা হলো সেটাও প্রাণের সেই বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় প্রাঙ্গনে। হাজার হাজার পুরুষতো সেখানেও ছিল। কেউ কি এগিয়ে যেতো পারলো না মেয়েটিকে রক্ষা করতে?
পুলিশের কথা বলছি না এ কারণে, যেখানে মেয়েটিকে লাঞ্ছিত করা হয়েছে, সেখানে গতবারও পুলিশের কনট্রোলরুম ছিল। ওখানের সব জায়গাতেই সিসি ক্যামেরা। কিন্তু পুলিশ এগিয়ে আসবে না এটাই ঠিক। কারণ ঠিক ওই জায়গার একটু পাশেই বিজ্ঞানমনস্ক লেখক অভিজিৎকে হত্যা করেছিল। তখনো পুলিশ দাঁড়িয়ে দাঁড়িয়ে দেখেছিল। পুলিশের কাজ দেখা। আর প্রয়োজনে যদি সরকার বিরোধী কেউ হয় তাহলে তাকে ক্রসফায়ারে দেওয়া।
যদি ছাত্র ইউনিয়নের ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সভাপতি লিটন নন্দী এগিয়ে না আসতেন? যদি লিটন তার গায়ের পাঞ্জাবি দিয়ে নারীটির লজ্জা ঢেকে না দিতেন? তাহলে কি লাঞ্ছিত হোত বাংলাদেশ? তাহলে কি লাল সবুজের পতাকা অর্ধ নমিত হয়ে যেত লজ্জায়? এসবের কিছুই হোত না। কারণ যিনি লাঞ্ছিত হয়েছেন তার কোন খেতাব নেই। খেতাব ছাড়া, পদবী ছাড়া মানুষ শুধু সংখ্যাতত্ত্বেরর হিসেব নিকেশ।
ছি ছাত্রলীগ!
টিএসসির সামনে বর্ষবরনের দিনে নারীদের লাঞ্ছিত করার অভিযোগ সরকারি দল ছাত্রলীগের বিরুদ্ধে যাচ্ছে। এটা প্রমাণ করা কঠিন কিছু নয়। সব ভিডিও আছে সিসি ক্যামেরায়। প্রত্যেককে সনাক্ত করা সম্ভব। যদি পুলিশ সিসি ক্যামেরা থেকে ভিডিও ফুটেজ না মুছে ফেলে।
আর জগন্নাথ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে যারা লাঞ্ছিত করেছে নারী শিক্ষার্থীদের। তাদেরকে ইতোমধ্যে চিহ্নিত করা হয়েছে ছাত্রলীগ হিসেবে। ছাত্রলীগ তুমি আর কত নীচ হবে। কত নিচে নামলে তোমার নিচে নামার ইচ্ছে বন্ধ হবে?
এরপর এইসব অপরাধীদের সাজা হবে না জানি। কিন্তু এদের প্রত্যেকের ছবিগুলো ছেপে দেওয়া উচিত সবগুলো জাতীয় দৈনিকে। এদের বাবা মা বোন ভাই জানুক, মানুষ নামের কোন জানোয়ারের সঙ্গে তারা একই ছাদের নিচে থাকে। সরকার যদি তাদের বিচারও না করে তাহলে এটা করতে পারলে তাদের বিচার হয়ে যাবে।
সংখ্যালঘুরাই লড়ে, সংখ্যাগুরুরা ভয়ে মরে
বামপন্থিরা বাংলাদেশে প্রান্তিক, সংখ্যালঘু। তবে তাদের সামনে ঘটে যাওয়া অনাচারের প্রতিবাদ তারাই করে। ইতিহাসজ্ঞান মাত্রই আপনি স্বীকার করবেন সারা পৃথিবীতেই লড়াইটাই এমন। সুন্দরের জন্য, আগামির জন্য, জীবনের জন্য খুব কম মানুষ লড়ে। আর আমরা তাবৎ লোকেরা তা ভোগ করি।
এই যে ছাত্র ইউনিয়নের সভাপতি কমরেড লিটন আমাদেরকে রক্ষা করলেন, ভয়ঙ্কর লজ্জার হাত থেকে রক্ষা করলেন। অথচ সেখানেও পুরুষ ছিলো ঢের, কাতারে কাতারে। কেউ এগিয়ে আসেনি। লিটনেরা ইতিহাসে বরাবরই সংখ্যালঘু ছিলেন।
এই যে আমাদের মুক্তিযুদ্ধ। এখন কাতারে কাতারে যোদ্ধা বের হচ্ছে। অথচ যুদ্ধের নিদান কালে কজনে গেছিল সেদিনে রণে? ইতিহাস তা জানে।
বলছি না, যারা যুদ্ধে যায়নি তারা সবাই রাজাকার। যারা যায়নি তারা আসলে ভীতু মানুষ। তারা কেউ লিটন হতে পারে না। তারা রুমি হতে পারে না। তারা রুমির ইতিহাস পড়ে।
তবে এই সুযোগে যারা বাঙালীর বর্ষবরণ নিয়ে নানান ধরনের নেতিবাচক বক্তব্য ছড়াচ্ছে তারাও ওই নারীকে লাঞ্ছিত করা নপুংসকদের মতই। মঙ্গলযাত্রা করা হয় এইসব অশুভ শক্তির বিরুদ্ধাচারণ করেই।
আসছে নববর্ষবরণে নারী তুমি বহ্নিশিখা হও। দ্বিধাহীন তোমার কণ্ঠ উৎগত কর। দেবী দুর্গার মত ১০ হাতে তুমি অসুরকে ধ্বংস কর।
