Re: [mukto-mona] More atheists and agnostics entering Harvard than Protestants and Catholics

I do not think rationalists (atheists) get offended so easily, nor do they need defending.

As for the question by Mr. Chakrabarty, most people in the world over the last few millennia had religious baggage. Thus, many of the creative geniuses in the world had two compartments in their brain; one filled mostly with religious garbage and the other filled mostly with rational thinking. You need to realize that in its early days even Harvard was under clergy control. So, it was only natural that a lot of the creative geniuses in the world were not atheists. But guess what, the world is progressing and the control of intellectual exercises at places like Harvard, Cambridge, Oxford, etc. are no longer in the hands of the clergy. And there is a trend of diminishing size of the religious garbage compartment in the brains of the geniuses, as well as a trend of having more atheists and agnostics being seen in prestigious schools like Harvard.

I have no intention to offend or defend the atheists. I have a simple humble question: Were or are all the creative geniuses atheists?

This is expected, because atheists can direct unfettered creativity into practice, whereas, religiosity wastes part of the creativity of a person.
