Salaams Brothers

It is with extreme sadness that I have read what our esteemed Dr. Totonji has sent out. The Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has issued a statement urging "to form a greater national unity to resist such brutal and atrocious incidents". Yes we must do something about what is facing the Ummah today. If we do not get our act in place and strategically so, we can expect far worse coming our way. I would be most interested in how the Jamaat-e-Islami intends to “form a greater national unity”. I have had some ideas for some time now and I would like to share this with you.

Herewith is my document of how I see the Ummah being united under one Ameer. While it is intended to be global, each “country” can and must implement it initially and there-from will the global Ameer of the Ummah be instituted. We must remember that in Islam there is no place for nationalism.  We must inculcate and entrench in our psychology that a Muslim is only a Muslim and nothing but a Muslim. He can never be a this Muslim or that Muslim. The title of Muslim is indivisible. Thus a Muslim can not be a Bangladeshi, Saudi, Somali, Sunni, Shia, Hambali (etc. – the list is endless). Allah commands us to hold fast to His rope AND BE NOT DIVIDED. Thus we must irradicate from our minds and every thought, deed or action that smacks of even an iota of division.

I pray that Allah destroys all divisions in the Ummah, that we are united and unbreakable in our unity, that “Bangladesh” becomes the seed for the unity of the Ummah globally and that when the Mahdi arises, the structure for his leadership is already in place. Most of all, Allah will not change our situation until we desire and beg for that change. Let us pray and beg for our unity and act urgently to achieving global unity for the Ummah. The more time we waste in making such a move, the more easily Muslim blood will be spilt in greater torrents. Yesterday it was Iraq, Syria, Burma, Chechnia, etc. Tomorrow it could be anybody’s turn for Muslim mass murder, which is being carried out with greater impunity each day.

If I can assist in any way, please let me know,

Saleem

Acting Secretary General calls for national unity to resist terrorist activities

3 consecutive bombs blasted just prior to a Tajia procession of the Shia community on the eve of the Ashura day that killed a youth and injured hundred others. Acting Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following statement on 25th October, 2015 urging to form a greater national unity to resist such brutal and atrocious incident.
In the statement, he stated that 3 consecutive bombs blasted just prior to a Tajia procession of the Shia community on the eve of the Ashura day that killed a youth and injured hundred others. The Shia community brings such procession for years. But no incident of bomb blast is ever happened in the history of this procession. Following this incident, the countrymen expected that the government would call for a national unity to resist such terrorist activities. But it is a matter of great regret that the key personnel of the government and the administration have stared blaming the opponents instead of forming national unity. Bomb blast in a Tajia procession is a remarkable incident in our national life. This incident must be investigated properly to the recurrence of such incidents. But just immediate after incident, the way the leaders of the ruling party started blaming Jamaat-Shibir for these blasts without any investigation, that would conceal the real criminal. The only way to tackle the terrorists and their terrorism is national unity. The investigation should not be hampered in anyway. We hope that the responsible persons of the government would not make any such statement that may hamper the investigation. The real criminals can be found, identified and punished only through proper and fair investigation.
The key personnel who have blamed Jamaat-shibir for the incidents, in regards to that, we clearly want to say that, immediate after the incident, Jamaat issued a statement demanding proper investigation into the incident in order to find out and punish the real criminals. We want to assert that, Jamaat and Chhatrashibir has no connection with the incident. We sincerely hate and condemn all types of terrorist activities. The countrymen want to live peacefully. If the government takes any unified effort to resist terrorism, we are ready to cooperate them in this regard.
We hope that, the responsible persons of the government would be refrained from making irresponsible comments and would try to tackle terrorism altogether. Otherwise, our democracy and development would be extremely damaged and destroyed by the malpractices like terrorism.”
