A lot of people in the West are stupid when it comes to political and social awareness. When Dick Cheney was asked by a journalist on TV some years back if he was surprised that majority of the US population believed that Saddam Hussein was behind 9/11, his answer was that he was not. Obviously, he knew that his team of crooks could fool the population because the population was not politically conscious.
In this case of proliferation of mosques, the non-Muslim population was callously tolerant of an intolerant group. It is indeed a shame that they have been allowing noise pollution for respecting religious freedom of Muslims. They surely lost some of their own freedom to respect a way of life that is contrary to the freedom of the human mind.
