Religious edicts are created, in those days, by people to control the behavior of the wild people, just like we have constitutions, today, which control the behavior of the modern people.
Human brains are much more mature and developed now, and they will find ways to circumvent obstacles to freedom. This is a natural tendency of the human being; it's bound to happen.
Now-a-days, religion is nothing but a tool to accomplish political end-games. As a result, you will see, even the so called avid religious leaders often do not impose their cultic-prescriptions onto the family members.
Alas, millions of followers, even the most educated ones,cannot see this simple fallacy.
