Re: [mukto-mona] 1971 war: Witness to history/ A Pakistani view point

Thanks for sharing the article with all of us. I find the article very balanced, non-partisan and objective. However, I find it slightly patronising, when it is said that 'it is one of the best by a Pakistani'. The analysis captures inner strands of Muslim Bengal, without siding overtly to the Bangladeshi or Pakistani narrative. One point to note here is that he did not blindly parrot the falsified 3 million fatality figure. Instead he said that hundreds of thousands of people died in that struggle, which is closer to the truth.

It is actually a very good article, one of the best written by a Pakistani.  In the presentation of its content it reminds me of a recent Bangla article ( a Bangla Academy address on 8th Dec. 2015) written by the veteran scholar, Sirajul Islam Chowdhury.

I urge all of you to read it carefully.

Not really an objective analysis of 71 war/genocide but some people might get some comfort in it?
