Dear Friends,

According to the laws of California, the two bodies of Mithu (Shamima) and Golam Rabbi can be released by the Coroner's office only to their elder son (21+), who is missing now. The younger son is 17 who is in Juvenile care now and he can not sign the papers to receive the bodies. This situation will continue for 10 days until May 4 to give the bodies to the elder son. If the elder son is still not available by May 4, then the Coroner's office will release the two bodies to Mithu's brother and Golam Rabbi's sister on May 4.

There was a misunderstanding in communication with the Coroner's office earlier. They thought that the elder son was available to take the bodies and they said they were ready to release the bodies. Since the elder son is not available now to take the bodies, they will wait till May 4 to release the bodies to Mithu's brother and Golam Rabbi's sister on May 4.

SBIA-BOT Chair Br. Adnan is helping us a lot in this critical situation.

We will let you know of any further developments.  Please continue to pray for this family and for our whole community.

With best regards,

Mahbub Khan

Dear bereaved Silicon Valley community,

The Coroner's Office of Investigation in San Jose (Santa Clara County) has completed their investigation and analysis and they just authorized this afternoon the release of the two bodies of Mithu (Shamima) and Golam Rabbi to the Alameda Funeral Home. So, the two bodies will be arriving at the Alameda Funeral Home anytime this afternoon.

Ibrahim Bhai is working with the Alameda Funeral Home and the Family members of Mithu and Golam Rabbi and also the Coroner's office to coordinate on some critical items. SBIA-BOT-Chair Br. Adnan Rashid is helping a lot in this situation to coordinate with the San Jose Police department. Imam Salim Molla of EIC (Evergreen Islamic Center) is doing a lot of work to get the Janazah prayer arrangements ready at the Evergreen Masjid in San Jose, and he is also coordinating with the Family members of Mithu and Golam Rabbi.

As soon as the two bodies arrive at the Alameda Funeral Home this afternoon, the plan and schedule for Washing the bodies and Janazah prayer will be finalized. The overall schedule of Janazah prayer will be announced by the EIC (Evergreen Islamic Center) as soon as the plan is in place.

Please plan to attend the Janazah prayer as soon as the Janazah prayer schedule is announced by the EIC (Evergreen Islamic Center).

With best regards,

Date: Mon, 25 Apr 2016 11:22:11 -0700

Dear Friends,

Both dead bodies of Mithu and Golam Rabbi (Husband and wife) were removed from their home last night by the City officials, and the bodies are still with the City officials and they are trying to analyze how this tragedy happened. Both of them were found to be shot dead inside their house. It may take a couple of days for the relevant city department to complete that part of the analysis and investigation before releasing the body.

The logistics of Washing the bodies, Janazah prayers, burials etc are being discussed amongst a few of us.  Ibrahim Bhai, Quamruzaman Bhai and SBIA BOT-Chair Br. Adnan Rashid are helping and coordinating on these items. Br. Adnan Rashid is also helping us coordinating with the City to determine the release time of the bodies. On request by Br. Adnan Rasheed the Police officer in charge attended the prayer at the Evergreen Masjid yesterday and joined the mourning with our community.

We are all devastated by this extra-ordinary tragedy in our Silicon Valley community.

We will keep you posted about any additional updates so that you all can attend the Janazah prayer when that happens.

Regards,

Mahbub Khan
